Interesting podcast. Was hoping the subject of using mushrooms while on an anti-coagulant was going to be covered. After all, many oncology patients are on blood thinners. These mushrooms have anti-inflammatory properties but to what degree? And would it be safe to go on these mushroom products? Making an informed decision is crucial for anyone and certainly someone under treatment. Would love to know Hania Opienski's, and others, thoughts on this..

I'm a forager of chaga and reishi. I've used chaga for a few years but was hesitant with reishi. I don't know why but figured I should give it a try if I was going to sell it to others. I'd heard it helped with sleep and promoted a deeper more restfull sleep. Long story short, it does. I'm normally a light sleeper and generally don't sleep more than 6-7 hours. With a little reishi hours before bed time I'll sleep 9-10 hours and feel as though I could sleep more! I haven't tried yet but kind of have to make myself get up. I've also used it topically on my scalp for baldness and have fine hair comeing in. About three months now. The scalp mixture is reishi with two other ingrediants. I'd heard topical use wouldn't work for hair restoration but I was only using the dual extract for my sleep experiment 4-5 times a week when I noticed the fine hair coming in. I increased the frequency of both ( topically and ingesting) and have began taking it in the morning as well. 4-5 Droppers twice a day of wild reishi dual extract and the hair tonic every morning after water only scalp wash.

Most cordyceps on the market are grown on a substrate , not insects. Personally I have no problem with and would prefer to use a wild cordy grown on an insect , but maybe that's just me. It will probably be found to be more effective if wild.

I tried so many brands, and I only notice a difference when I take Tria Alchemy… it seems all of the other liquid ones are rather weak and hyped up marketing. Most of the inconvenient powder ones generally come from China and are rebranded-especially the coffees.

Thank you, I almost commented this. It made me extremely depressed, crying every night, just tons of fear, and phases of dissociation. This could be related to it interacting with something else I take, but I doubt it. Next day after stopping it all started going away. Still feel a lingering numb, pessimistic feeling. There is always the main three factors bio, psychological, and social.

Cordyceps are able to be lab grown- Ophiocordyceps militaris is a strain we can grow with realative ease, and they have tested higher in cordycepin, a key beta glucan responsible for many of the heakth benefits of Cordyceps. Quality Cordyceps products are made with lab grown Cordyceps fruiting bodies extracted powders. :_D Beautiful lesson.

Do they make her hands dance non-stop? I have CFS so will be looking at this more but I think my original pneumonia that has left me with CFS was a fungal lung infection so no thanks to fungi for that. Update; just tried a mushroom complex supplement for about 5 days and absolutely no good effect in fact my CFS got worse after a few days so very disappointed with that.

"Natural" products and remedies should be scrutinized just as much as pharmaceutical drugs prior to using them with an emphasis on negative reactions or side effects. And their efficacy should be backed up studies that do not conflate cause and effect claims from the limitations of associative studies.

I am not fun of an unconventional medicine, - actually I am very far from it. But I love mushrooms as a food and source of nutrients and vitamins. I see very bright development for the mushroom industry in close future. It is actually emerging market. Right now, it is very narrow niche of well known mushrooms. Mushrooms can be great source for micro elements, vitamins, "meat", carbs, fibers...... And please notice - our food Giants did not work on mushrooms at all, - so, I think it is coming...........
