Do you male tinctures? I'm trying my luck with those. Mushrooms and mosses have to be dual extracted to get all of the medicinal components though.

I am familiar with turkey tail mushrooms, but in a different way. I am an artist my father and I would look for turkey tail mushrooms in the woods whenever I would accompany him during deer season. He had a handicap license and I would drive him to the woods. I would drive him in his side by side. He was permitted to hunt from the side-by-side as I drove. The two of us kept an eye out for very large turkey tail mushrooms growing on the sides of oak trees. I would remove them and put them in the back of our vehicle. I would take them home and dry them out by our fireplace. On underside of the mushrooms, I would paint scenic pictures like wildlife native to our area of West Virginia such as whitetail deer, black bear and birds. I would also paint scenic a pastoral scenes like big red barns, cows and horses grazing in the field or something like that. And people would buy my paintings. The very first one I ever did was on a 6 inch wide 3 inch thick turkey mushroom that my mother found. I painted and Old Red Barn on it and gave it to her for mother's Day. I painted it from a picture of the old barn that used to stand on her parents farm. She said it's the best present I ever gave her. 💞
Now that I know that turkey tail mushrooms have medicinal purposes, and that they help the immune system, I'm even more connected to them. You see dear,. I have a rare condition called Idiopathic Multicentric Castelman's Disease ( iMCD) . It involves my immune system and my lymph nodes to be exact. Next time I go into the woods, I will be looking for turkey tail mushrooms. But, this time for a dual purpose. 💕🙏💫🕊️

If you have a Vitamix blender You should try the dry grains bowl for making flours. I'm sure in the apothecary you could use that pretty often. Great video and loving the B-roll!

I’ve learned so much from you the last month! We have morels here, in the early spring. That’s the only mushroom I feel safe foraging for. There are false morels too, here.
Your Grandma is beautiful!! I love her accent.

Thankyou, for a very informational video. I have always shied away from Turkey tails that weren't fresh or flexible. I'll be dehydrating some tails soon thanks to you and your grandmother. What lovely and strong ladies you are.

Awesome video on so many levels! The medicinal value of this mushroom is similar to chaga and it is so much easier to find. The preparation to make it into a tea is also similar. I'm so happy that you invited your grandma on this adventure. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

not sure where you're at but yes, we have turkey tail mushrooms in Kentucky! they're all over the place, i've seen ones similar to the ones you have, and then ones that are a little more orange-ish to brown colored.

You are blessed. I never had the opportunity to know my grandmothers and great grandmothers. We just lost my mother one day before her 84th birthday. I feel lost, but know I will see her and my grandparents and the children and grandchildren I have lost again one day in heaven. God bless you and yours.
