These is ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop quartet, the best, most versatile and most important of the 70s,
in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s)
ABBA, as in its time BEATLES,
was a musical and cultural phenomenon,
and its legacy lives on
remember that ABBA is an acrostic with initials of their first names; initialy
They was, in the begining, two couples:
A- Agnetha (blonde lead vocal) &
B- Björn (guitarist and songwriter)
B- Benny (pianist and songwriter) &
A- Anni Frid (brunette lead vocal)
(both couples separated before the breakup of the group in 1982)
"Dancing Queen" (1976)
is a beautiful song, a masterpiece,
which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies
the blonde singer Agnetha is soprano voice,
the brunette singer Frida is mezzo soprano voice,
and blending together made the famous and fantastic 'third voice of ABBA'
And the music is bright and enveloping,
from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco
and invites you to dance
English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most,
because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them (another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen)
And in 2015 "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll music

ABBA begin to be famous in 1974,

A very fabulous dancing queen reaction 💃👸! Dancing Queen was released as the lead single from ABBA's 1976 album: Arrival. It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson. It was produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The song reached #1 on the Hot 100, #1 on the Cash Box 100 and #6 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The song also reached #1 in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Rhodesia, South Africa, Sweden and West Germany. The music video was directed by Lasse Hallström. In 2015, the song: "Dancing Queen", was inducted into the Recording Academy's Grammy Hall of Fame. They are from Sweden.
The song was written by ABBA members Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. According to ABBA's official site, it was conceived as a dance song with the working title "Boogaloo". They drew inspiration from the 1974 George McCrae Disco hit song: "Rock Your Baby", and from the drumming on the 1972 album: Gumbo, by Dr John. Their manager Stig Anderson came up with the title "Dancing Queen," and after several months working on the track, ABBA came up with arguably the world's first Europop Disco hit.
ABBA recorded this about a year before it was released. It was written and recorded around the same time as "Fernando," which was chosen as the single. They knew "Dancing Queen" would also be a hit, so they held it until the album was released before issuing it as a single.
ABBA performed this song on June 18, 1976 at a televised tribute to Queen Silvia and King Gustaf XVI of Sweden, who were married the next day.
The American Disco singer Carol Douglas covered this song in 1977, taking it to #110 in America. The other two covers to chart are by ABBA clones A*Teens (#95 in 2000) and the Glee Cast (#74, 2011).

In 1974, ABBA were Sweden's first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song: "Waterloo", which in 2005 was chosen as the best song in the competition's history as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the contest. The band members were married. With the increase of their popularity, their personal lives suffered, which eventually resulted in the collapse of both marriages. The relationship changes were reflected in the group's music, with later compositions featuring darker and more introspective lyrics. After ABBA disbanded in December 1982, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus continued their success writing music for multiple audiences including stage, musicals and movies, while Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Lyngstad pursued solo careers releasing several albums.

In 2016, the group reunited and started working on a digital avatar concert tour. Newly recorded songs were announced in 2018. The group's album: Voyage, their first new album in 40 years, was released on 5 November 2021 to positive critical reviews and strong sales in numerous countries. ABBA Voyage, a concert residency featuring ABBA as virtual avatars, opened in May 2022 in London.
ABBA still performs their music live on stage in 2023.

I am a big Eurovision fan. The biggest song contest i Europe held every year sinc3 1954.
Lots of songs over those years have become classics. I have a lot of favourites. Two stick out and have not won
