No they are not sisters or even related. Anni-Frid is probably the world's most famous "war" baby. She's the daughter of a Norweigan girl and a German soldier, concieved in occupied Norway during WWII. To escape the stigma after the war her mother and grandmother moved with her to Sweden after the war. After ABBA she married into the German nobility and is now a princess.

This is an ABBA song classic for all December/January dates A beautiful song with a soft melody at the beginning, a melancholic lyrics with the beautiful and very sweet interpretation of the blonde singer Agnetha, a brilliant chorus with the brunette Frida (especially the power of her second voice in the second and third stanza) and a catchy chorus with the melody that grows and falls in love All ingredients of ABBA
The lyrics are so emotional, contrast with an very catchy chorus It's no funny, it's melancolich, but have a message of hope
"Happy New Year" (1980) is a great song from the "Super Trouper" album (which includes the homonymous song and "The winner takes it all" among others)
It has a version in Spanish: "Felicidad" which was a hit here in my country Argentina
"Happy new year" have two ABBA official videos, these in English and another in Spanish, and an only TV perfomance in France 1980, and now a new ABBA official lyric video inthe end of 2022
in last November 2021, ABBA include a Christmas song tittle "Little things" in their new album "Voyage", that also was released as a single with a special video with childrens

Just to clarify they are not a girl group they are a group of four, the men are just as much a part of the power that became ABBA.

I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to ABBA before: Dancing Queen and Does Your Mother Know. Happy New Year was released as the fourth single from ABBA's 1980 album: Super Trouper. It originally had a very limited release as a single in December of that year and wasn't eligible to chart. It was written and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Lead vocals by Agnetha Fältskog. The song's working title was "Daddy Don't Get Drunk On Christmas Day".
The Spanish-language version of the song: "Felicidad", was released in 1980 in Spanish-speaking territories. The single reportedly charted in the top 5 in Argentina. The song wasn't released as a single until 1999 when it reached #4 in Sweden and #8 in The Netherlands. The song was re-released in 2008, and it again peaked at #4 in Sweden, as well as #5 in Norway and #14 in Denmark. It has since gone on to regularly chart in some countries upon the turn of the new year.
The Swedish Pop group: A-Teens, covered the song in 2000 peaking at, yep, #4 on the Swedish chart as well as #12 in Finland. The single was released to celebrate the arrival of the new millennium: thus, the last line in the song's third verse is altered to: "in the end of ninety-nine", as opposed to the original song lyrics: "in the end of eighty-nine".
The song actually started life as an idea for a musical. The plot was to be centered around a New Year's Eve, a thought that got into Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' heads on a plane over to the island. They ran into the comedian John Cleese at the holiday resort and asked him if he would be interested in writing a manuscript. When John Cleese turned them down, the idea was abandoned.

In 1974, ABBA were Sweden's first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song: "Waterloo", which in 2005 was chosen as the best song in the competition's history as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the contest. The band members were married. With the increase of their popularity, their personal lives suffered, which eventually resulted in the collapse of both marriages. The relationship changes were reflected in the group's music, with later compositions featuring darker and more introspective lyrics. In 2016, the group reunited and started working on a digital avatar concert tour. Newly recorded songs were announced in 2018. ABBA Voyage, a concert residency featuring ABBA as virtual avatars, opened in May 2022 in London.
