"Once upon a time there were the old FE (before awakening) fans and the new FE (after awakening) fans who fought each other bitterly for an age" "Hey, why did the old fans and new fans have to fight so much? Couldn't they just say they were sorry?"
I do not get why the majority of the "older" fans are acting like they were the "true" fans of the franchise... "true" fans would try to understand why there are certains changes between games and why the franchise has added something during it's course (of nearly 30 years now) instead of costantly complain about the "newer" games like they were something completely different.
Honestly the whole fan base of Fire Emblem is becoming a shit storm. People should just let people enjoy what they enjoy instead of trying to dictate which games are not worthy of the fire emblem title. I mean every game had it's unique selling points and crowd appeal so why the hell would you waste time debating in a comments section??? That makes 0 sense to me.
@Boarbaque I know you said you were exaggerating but, "bastardized corpse?" Really? Though I will admit, in FEH, they do give a lot of understandable attention to the newer games. Either way, its not like the series has changed THAT drastically. Anyone who says that is honestly high. I will agree on the tone, though. *Some* sections in Fates' story I think were going for the right narrative, but the rest of the game's "super anime" whimsical characters brought down the feel, I think. The royals were the most likable to me, because they were generally down-to-earth, with a few others. Either way, Fire Emblem is great. The old games are great, and the new ones are great, too, but aren't for everyone. End of discussion, (for me, lol).

It was hilarious seeing how badly Tokyo Mirage Sessions fit into this video. If I didn't know better, I would've thought you just stuck a random anime intro between Awakening and Fates for shits and giggles.
+FairyTailGirlFatima I know I'm super late on this but: It's a spin-off game on Wii U that's a crossover between Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei. All the characters are humans who come into contact with demonic versions of Fire Emblem heroes such as Chrom, Caeda, Virion, Etc. called Mirages and use their powers to fight off evil mirages, also generally Fire Emblem villains like Gangrel, Aversa, Gharnef, Etc. It's a good game, but unlike mainline FE games, it's not a grid-based SRPG. Instead it's a dungeon crawler JPRG, much like the other half of its makeup, Shin Megami Tensei.
@@nhlvan Granted its core is a MegaTen game (which is why I tend to consider it a MegaTen game more than an FE game) but it's not completely devoid of any fire emblem either. As stated before the plot revolves around mirage versions of fire emblem characters, down to the final chapter being an abridged version of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and taking place in Dolhr. Carnage unity allows you to create weapons, many of which are named and designed after iconic weapons from the series, obvious ones being the Falchion, Ragnell, Durandal, etc. This is also a very minor thing but it is attributed to the fire emblem side of the equation, but all units retain their classic fire emblem weaknesses. So the standard weapon triangle is there to consider in fights, flying units are all weak to arrows and wind magic, riders and armored units are crippled by slayer skills, and of course the higher tier versions of the Falchion grant Itsuki skills for crippling dragon units like wyrmslayer and wyrmicide.
@@nhlvan Its gameplay is like SMT. But the setting... It's so weird. SMT is dark-tone and tough looking... not idols included. But I want to play it anyway cuz I'm huge fan of both series.

I think the gameplay for Conquest was great, some of the characters were really good (Oboro, the royals, the Awakening trio), but yeah, the stories range from meh to pretty awful (I know how old this comment is)
Awakening was the first game I was introduced to the series. It’s a good game, but out of the ones I played and tried, Path of Radiance, Echoes and Blazing Sword are my favourites. I haven’t played much of Fates, but I will come back to it.
Awakening’s opening will always give me chills knowing the devs really believed that would be their last game. I wonder what they would have thought if they were told FE would be one of Nintendo’s main IPs in about a decade? Little PSA: And for anyone here before March 2023 make sure you’ve gotten all the paths for Fates, especially Revelation, as they will no longer be available due to the eshop closure. This goes for any dlc maps too. Also, Fates (Birthright and Conquest) will be delisted from the shop as of February 28, so if for some reason you haven’t picked up these gems yet, get them NOW. It’s your last chance.
FE12 is such an underrated game, it’s way better than its predecessor and it has some of my favorite songs in the franchise. So bad it never was released outside of Japan
Thracia 776 has the best intro and Idgaf about what anybody else says... It's just capture the despair of Leaf (and the player), the dread and tragedy of the story so beautifully that I can't help but to fall in love with it
Ally Rose It would've been MUCH better if it was dubbed. If they do a Switch port, they should add a dub audio option for at least the dialogue scenes.
Pretty much. All the known Performas were characters from the Akaneia games. Those were mostly the first, third, and even Awakening as it's part of the quadrilogy (Gaiden is canon because the Pegasus sisters & even Camus appear).
Please don't hate me for ranting, but I just can't stand it when people call TMS#FE a "SMT game with a few Fire Emblem references" or the sort. If anything, it's probably closer to Persona than SMT itself and all the influence it's gotten from that side is almost exclusively in the combat system. The characters and story don't even remotely resemble any SMT game I know of... and even Persona with all its anime tropes doesn't hit you with that idol stuff. I guess what I am trying to say is, if you look at an opening compilation from SMT and put TMS in there, it would stand out just as much if not for Persona 4 Golden...
*+Fresh Pasta* But wasn't Persona a Shin Megami Tensei game? The first one is called like that. It would be like saying that Paper Mario isn't a Mario game.
I love RD's the most although it sucks this video doesn't have the full version. Also want to mention FE3 might have the most underrated version of the Fire Emblem theme ever.
Nobody's talking about Thracia intro which is the best Imo. The music, the tension, the FE4 references. You know from the beginning Leif has already faced a tragic story, and his journey will be one of the most difficult in the series.
Dark Dragon and the Blade of Light, Gaiden, Mystery of the Emblem, Genealogy of the Holy War, Thracia 776, Binding Blade, Blazing Blade, Sacred Stones, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery of the Emblem, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, Fates, (Heroes), Echoes, (Warriors). (Those in parenthesis are non canonical and not main series, thus don’t add to the count of 15)
Considering we got Shadow Dragons and Echoes, there's no need to list Dark Dragon and the Blade of Light and Gaiden since Shadow Dragons and Echoes were just remakes of those two games.
Genealogy/Seisen no Keifu is my absolute favorite Fire Emblem. The only game in the series where you really feel like you’re conducting a massive battle against an enemy army. You have to worry about your equipment, supplies, formations and positioning so none of your characters get killed. After Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776, it feels like the series went few steps backwards and went to a different direction. The games are still good. I liked Echoes and 3 of the GBA games are solid. (Awakening’s plot was pretty crappy compared to Genealogy of the Holy War) Nothing can beat Genealogy. It is absolutely the best game in the series. If only it had a remake that could flesh out the characters a bit more and update the game. If Nintendo considers remaking this I hope they stay true to the story and leave nothing out from the original game, and maybe add extra dialogue to it. This game would likely get an M rating but I honestly wouldn’t mind that, people need to know what type of game they are playing and be able handle it, Yes I know about the gigantic maps and no trading but trading would be overpowered, you either love it or hate it.
Brandon Williams - I completely agree with you cause Fe4 not only had great plot. With polish and remastering, the supports would be just amazing . There were be tons of hidden Easter such as maybe having Azel and Lex having a c support that hints the hidden axe Hero Axe for lex hidden in chapter 1. Or even showing how Arden was sparring with arya that would be hilarious . And we have our flirty boy Alec. Please IS make fe4 remaster a reality, don't change nothing but add supports to each character . Have the Divine Bloods be explained . We want to hear more of the story of Gae Bolg, and how it may be the reason why Cuan died. Or even how Azel, Arya, lex and Tailtu might have survive the big massacre.
I'd laugh really hard if Nintendo really did release FE4 Echoes the way you stated so I can finally laugh at all the smartasses saying FE has gone Waifu Simulator
The only in the series where you really feel like you’re conducting a massive battle against and enemy army. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Exist I know this comment is old
Fire Emblem Fates was okay to me. It had wasted potential for sure, good gameplay (for Conquest), good music (then again FE's OST is always great), and Azura's song when I first heard it. Aside from Takumi and Leo, who had arguably the most personality in the royal family, I didn't care about any of the characters. It was really hard to choose a waifu or husband because most of the characters are just too boring for me.
I'm curious why three houses didn't have a completely original opening movie, because I really liked fates and awakenings intros, (no idea how original echoes is)
echoes, the game before three houses, is composed almost entirely of cutscenes from the game, just like three houses. this is probably because they changed studios with echoes, as both fe15 and fe16 are animated by studio khara and they ditched the 3d models (which were probably easier to use when making original openings)
funny thing I love fire emblem but I really get disappointed with the new games because the Crits don't look badass anymore. I miss the assassin crit, the blade master crit, and the general crit. now it's too realistic with its critical hits aether from por is probably the only redemption.
Guido Tanzini the general in fates has the same as crit animation as the classics, also "more realistic" he the thief crit in awakening was super realistic, can't you harvest the power of bayblades.
Sadly the best crit animation in Echoes imo is one of the dlc classes - the upgrade of the gold knight. Jump off horse, pinwheel through the air, smash down on the opponent. But yes, nothing quite beats the insane crit dances such as Leif from Genealogy/Thracia.
Instead of being like that why not be glad that attack animations in general are much better? The fact that you can see them getting ready for the battle or gunning for the enemy as the battle starts already makes it better than a few measly critical animations. Nevermind the fact that they have specific animations for attacking after dodging an attack now.
You could tell me that the Tokyo mirage session intro was just an anime and I would have believed you... if I had forgotten what the fire emblem theme was
My first play is fire emblem sacred stone, then fe7 and fe6 then fe new mystery of the emblem... i didn't play fe path of radiance and fe radiant dawn.. after 2 years, i played fe awakening and fe fates (hoshido and revelations) lol... this game is enjoyable... and if the 3rd dlc pack of fe warrior is out, i wish to buy it because of tharja... lol...
I don't know why but whenever I play FE Fates I feel like I'm forcing myself to play it. To be honest I find myself revisiting the older FE games. I play FE6, FE7, FE8, FE9, and FE10 more often. In fact, I enjoy playing FE Awakening more than FE Fates.
Lawrence Rodriguez I, too, recognize it in absolutely everything you just said. I had to force myself to finish birthright, and I didn’t finish revelations, but I think that conquest is the best of the three, I really liked to see the point of view of the "bad guys", and I love to see Corrin question himself, even though I would have liked to see the Nohrian revolt against Garon much earlier
I think both Old and New Fire Emblem are equally important. I think the new games are great at grabbing the attention of newcomers. And while modern Fire Emblem still has quality writing, if you ignore Engage, I think Kaga's ways, and the writing that came between Thracia and Awakening, were far more in depth, having more nuance. Sometimes too much, for a new person. I think something straightforward like Awakening or Fates can prepare someone for the more complicated stories of Genealogy and Mystery.
Generic SwordUser new games are great, Elitist need to realize the old games were not as good as they Remember. Just finished playing sacred stones and Fe4 and it wasn't as good as they are said to be. I'm a new Fan and only found these games because of fates and awakening....... :p
TOP 5 1. Sacred Stones - OH MY HELLISH LAND!!! THIS WAS AMAZING AND THE TITLE SCREEN THEME HAS GREAT TUNES) 2. Radiant Dawn(second part) 3. Shadow Dragon 4. Awaifuning 5. Genealogy of the Holy War ... I was hoping to put Shadows of Valentia here, but the intro was... spoilish?

It's pretty interesting to see this evolution. FE1 and 2 are pretty standard but that was normal for that time. FE3 has such a beautiful Intro. It is done so well and the series would follow that trend in upcoming titles, with telling the backstory of the continent or the respective story. FE4 and 5 do an amazing job as well. 6 is lacking a bit imo, while 7 works pretty good. But after that the intros of Fire Emblem games have changed drastically. FE8 feels more like an intro that would work as an anime OP or as an intro for Pokémon but is pretty good visually. I do love how they foreshadow the final boss in every GBA game. FE9 and 10 follow this trend but are feeling more like there own thing and the intro looks and sounds so much better. It's a shame that the tellius games we're the point where FE started to fall down hard. Story- and presentation wise they had reached a peak point. 11 however, while doing a good job hyping up the player, is hold back due to the limitations of the DS. It tries to be like 9/10s Intros but I would've prepared a remake of the FE3 Intro. Same goes for 12 even though it works good since it is only a sequel to 11 and doesn't have the remake of 1 included. Awakening continues the trend but with animations like Radiant Dawn instead of still pictures. Idk why Tokyo Mirage Sessions does on the list but here it is definitely accurate to say that it feels like an anime opening. The intros of Fates are beautiful yet very simple in what they're showing. And the titlescreen that follows is very calm and works pretty well. Heroes is more like a showcase of some characters that you can expect here buuut that's just fitting for a game like Heroes. Echoes on the other hand continues with showing of a mix of cutscenes from the game and animations exclusive to this intro. And Three Houses, despite not being on the list, uses the same formular as echoes but feels more like an Anime opening in my eyes.
Bro Tokyo Marage sessions does NOT count as a Fire Emblem game. If you think it does, then why isn't Warriors in this? (Well I guess it wasn't out yet...)
Fates' intro lets the story look way more interesting than it is in reality. It is so powerful and spreads so much hype, but the story of Fates doesen't deserves this sick intro.
Feature Length They couldn't talk about it outside Valla, because if they did, they'd die in a similar manner to how Azura died in Birthright. Echoes and Awakening's localizations were much better than Fates. Some of the localization issues were the result of the localization and voice recording teams just not caring.
TMX1138 I know they can't talk about Valla outside of it. What I'm saying is that before Corrin learns about Valla at all, he/she and Azura can have a conversation about it anyways
Visually I really like fates and awakening's. I really like sov's intro music (but honestly all of them sounds good) while sacred stone's version of the fe theme is my fav, as well as the original.

FE12 is such an underrated game, it’s way better than its predecessor and it has some of my favorite songs in the franchise. So bad it never was released outside of Japan
Thracia 776 has the best intro and Idgaf about what anybody else says...
It's just capture the despair of Leaf (and the player), the dread and tragedy of the story so beautifully that I can't help but to fall in love with it
Lol despite tokyo mirage not being like the average fire emblem game i really liked it, interesting gameplay and characters and the music was nice
Ally Rose It would've been MUCH better if it was dubbed. If they do a Switch port, they should add a dub audio option for at least the dialogue scenes.
Tokyo Mirage Seasons? I thought this was a Fire Emblem video.
It was ironic.
TMS is pretty much Shin Megami Tensei with Fire Emblem slapped in.
And by Fire Emblem we mean Awakening and... Archanea?
@@megagustman No. It's not. Both are from megaten universe. But SMT has its own path, and it has nothing to do with colorful idols. Believe in me.
Oh and Caeda's Pegasus has a nice butt.
Say what you want about Shadow Dragon, but it has awesome music.
@Fermín Javier Arro Álvarez About the pegasus ass or the music?
I love RD's the most although it sucks this video doesn't have the full version. Also want to mention FE3 might have the most underrated version of the Fire Emblem theme ever.
Fates and heroes are my favourite intros.
But I’m sad you can only see that awesome cutscene in heroes once.
Nobody's talking about Thracia intro which is the best Imo.
The music, the tension, the FE4 references.
You know from the beginning Leif has already faced a tragic story, and his journey will be one of the most difficult in the series.
😂 Difficult? Bro Sigurd died a lonely tragic death stop comparing.
Suddenly it turns into an anime... Nani???
Dark Dragon and the Blade of Light, Gaiden, Mystery of the Emblem, Genealogy of the Holy War, Thracia 776, Binding Blade, Blazing Blade, Sacred Stones, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery of the Emblem, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, Fates, (Heroes), Echoes, (Warriors).
(Those in parenthesis are non canonical and not main series, thus don’t add to the count of 15)
Change Echoes to Shadows of Valentia. The Echoes Subtitle is going to be used in subsequent remakes
*Shadow Dragon
Considering we got Shadow Dragons and Echoes, there's no need to list Dark Dragon and the Blade of Light and Gaiden since Shadow Dragons and Echoes were just remakes of those two games.
New Mystery of The Emblem is the best in my opinion
Wow...1990...I had no idea Fire Emblem was that old. I just wish I could understand the intros....
23:45:Chrom made the most hilarious face EVER😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
23:45
Chrom's face 😅😅😅😅😅
27:24 this tone and mood is classic SMT
Did someone say the end of the world? I mean, the end of the show
I'm pretty sure you're referring to Persona, cuz Shin Megami Tensei is far from being "anime J-pop"
@@skateboardmd9163 They'd be the ones laughing at you though..
@@Lightningstrike1220 Well, yes. But, no.
The only in the series where you really feel like you’re conducting a massive battle against and enemy army.
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: Exist
I know this comment is old
Fire Emblem Fates was okay to me.
Did you just diss charlotte
This is it chief
in america imo Leo is overrated.....I’m sorry....please don’t hurt me
MEME KILLER yes
@@j0rgens64pc3 His support dialogue with Xander and Takumi is fun but overall I agree
Echoes has the best intro theme IMO!
if never played fire emblem but the games look good
5’33 that dragon will never stop startling me
I'm curious why three houses didn't have a completely original opening movie, because I really liked fates and awakenings intros, (no idea how original echoes is)
echoes, the game before three houses, is composed almost entirely of cutscenes from the game, just like three houses. this is probably because they changed studios with echoes, as both fe15 and fe16 are animated by studio khara and they ditched the 3d models (which were probably easier to use when making original openings)
i do miss the original openings though, i hope they come back one day
Why's tokyo mirage fe on this LOL
Well it’s a cross over with Shin Megami Tensei. Of course it’s part of the series!
Probably late to say this but happy Anniversary fire emblem
Beautiful series
funny thing I love fire emblem but I really get disappointed with the new games because the Crits don't look badass anymore.
That Guy Generals threw fucking weapons attached to chains in the originals, now they're just onions.
Sadly the best crit animation in Echoes imo is one of the dlc classes - the upgrade of the gold knight. Jump off horse, pinwheel through the air, smash down on the opponent. But yes, nothing quite beats the insane crit dances such as Leif from Genealogy/Thracia.
Hey, Dread Fighter crits looks cool too you know.
Instead of being like that why not be glad that attack animations in general are much better? The fact that you can see them getting ready for the battle or gunning for the enemy as the battle starts already makes it better than a few measly critical animations. Nevermind the fact that they have specific animations for attacking after dodging an attack now.
FE3 and FE8 had great intros, I liked FE4's and FE7's as well
Mystery of the Emblem has the best intro in the franchise.
*CHANGE MY MIND*
You could tell me that the Tokyo mirage session intro was just an anime and I would have believed you... if I had forgotten what the fire emblem theme was
The anime's intro is actually really nice, especially in Italian (the Italian dub is good in general).
My first play is fire emblem sacred stone, then fe7 and fe6 then fe new mystery of the emblem... i didn't play fe path of radiance and fe radiant dawn.. after 2 years, i played fe awakening and fe fates (hoshido and revelations) lol... this game is enjoyable... and if the 3rd dlc pack of fe warrior is out, i wish to buy it because of tharja... lol...
Coming soon...
Fire Emblem: Fan Service.
Fire emblem is honestly going fan-service. Still... HEY THAT'S PRETTY GOOD
I guess Echoes doesn't exist then.
NVMbeast99 LOL!
I once killed a man with a BTS song and a toothpick 1 year late but wtf your username
Bro why you gotta skip the part with the black knight and Ike in the radiant dawn theme
Now I can finally say I have Fire Emblem Path of Radiance.
MY TOP
1 Radiant Dawn
2 Holy War
3 Shadow Dragon
4 Mystery older
5 Echoes
I think both Old and New Fire Emblem are equally important. I think the new games are great at grabbing the attention of newcomers. And while modern Fire Emblem still has quality writing, if you ignore Engage, I think Kaga's ways, and the writing that came between Thracia and Awakening, were far more in depth, having more nuance.
Sometimes too much, for a new person. I think something straightforward like Awakening or Fates can prepare someone for the more complicated stories of Genealogy and Mystery.
the hollow knight greenpath vibes were turned tf up in the start of radiant dawns intro sheesh
Also,(If you can),try evolution of Marth or you could try do something different, like evolution of critical hit or something
Fe4 hands down has the best one, especially after playing it
wen the series almost died, marf said no! here we r 4 games on the way
how did it almost die? Fates is the one of the best selling FE game to date...
Baku Haku check 2012
Oh sorry, I just assumed you were one of the people hating on the new games
I mean the new games are, well mostly "okay".
Generic SwordUser new games are great, Elitist need to realize the old games were not as good as they Remember. Just finished playing sacred stones and Fe4 and it wasn't as good as they are said to be. I'm a new Fan and only found these games because of fates and awakening....... :p
Try to make evolution of critical hit or evolution of deaths and game over screens
Anyone who didn't know the last few were games must have been reaall confused
TOP 5
1. Sacred Stones - OH MY HELLISH LAND!!! THIS WAS AMAZING AND THE TITLE SCREEN THEME HAS GREAT TUNES)
2. Radiant Dawn(second part)
3. Shadow Dragon
4. Awaifuning
5. Genealogy of the Holy War
... I was hoping to put Shadows of Valentia here, but the intro was... spoilish?
Three Houses?
I just realized the final battle map plays also in the intro ... durr

@@Matsuna13 Hey! I know you!
Now you could add these to the list:
Fire Emblem: Warriors - Three Hopes
Fire Emblem: Heroes
Fire Emblem: Engage
I like Fire Emblem fates it's really underrated.
more like a wasted opportunity. if only they didn't rush the making
You mean it's overrated
Yep. That idea about Fire Emblem and the fate/ series crossing over is pretty underrated.
You said so yourself, it wasn't out yet. And TMS is a Fire Emblem game.
Random timestamp guy you're slacking
You need to update this for Warriors
Echoes had the best soundtrack and voice acting. I'll fight anyone who says differently!
there is no need to, you are correct
I'm waiting for the switch port for all of these!!!
Fates' intro lets the story look way more interesting than it is in reality. It is so powerful and spreads so much hype, but the story of Fates doesen't deserves this sick intro.
Fates is so bad
In Revelations, Corrin and Azura can talk about Valla before Chapter 6(when Corrin first learns about Valla) is completed
Feature Length They couldn't talk about it outside Valla, because if they did, they'd die in a similar manner to how Azura died in Birthright.
Echoes and Awakening's localizations were much better than Fates. Some of the localization issues were the result of the localization and voice recording teams just not caring.
TMX1138
I know they can't talk about Valla outside of it. What I'm saying is that before Corrin learns about Valla at all, he/she and Azura can have a conversation about it anyways
Feature Length I still like Fates.
Mr Bush that should be impossible though ... you shouldn’t have enough gold to do that many skirmishes and supports are unlocked after chapter 5
Visually I really like fates and awakening's. I really like sov's intro music (but honestly all of them sounds good) while sacred stone's version of the fe theme is my fav, as well as the original.
Echoes is still my favorite
