Making this cake for company, I haven't assembled it yet and I had to cook my frozen blueberries much longer than 10 minutes to get them reduced but other than that, so far, everything is going well. The batter and frosting and filling taste great. I'm thinking it's going to be delicious! Thanks
I tried the recipe , it is excellent. Only note is the cake becomes easy to crumble after it cools so you have to be really gentle with it so it doesn't break. Other wise it's delicious

If i make split the blueberry into blueberry & rasberry? would it be alright?! Si i have a blueberry sauce and a rasberry sauce, Do i have to change any of the ingredients?!
Hi there Sabine. Tried this yesterday but my cake barely rose at all. Is this normal? I’m worried about cutting it now. Are your slices quite thin? (I suppose I did use a wide pan (21cm), but should I have expected a rise?
Hello from France I tried this beautiful cake. But I met a problem during the assembly of this. It was collapsed immediately when I put the layers. I tasted it and there is too much sugar for me.(maybe in France we don't have the same habits )thanks for sharing your recipes. There are good explanations good job.
Lou Mea did you assemble the cake while warm? I had the same issue. If you cut & assemble the cake when it’s cold; it’s more manageable to handle by hand
LoveSmiling001 agreed. actually once my cakes are out of the oven, i let the cool completely then wrap them in cling wrap and refrigerate for a few hours ( even overnight) then when im ready to frost, bring them to room temp or even when they are still cold. then they're firm and easy to assemble

How ever I was impatient to wait for the cake to cool completely so the cutting and stacking was too fragile - but I managed to get it all together. Very delicious and I am making it AGAIN for a friend. I intentionally went over board on the lemon zest / juice and it was a great acidic lemon flavor. If you enjoy lemons, adding more zest and juice is just fine. And remember- this cake is meant to be DENSE yet moist.

I made this cake follow the recipe exactly expect I made double recipe added it a bit taller, only thing I adjusted in the recipe used more lemon zest and a bit extra lemon juice it tasted amazing my whole family loved it
