Francis is a good guy , I've grown to feel like I know him from these videos , we've had a few ups and downs ( he helped me burn out 3 diff servos in my Defender😂) However I'm a huge fan and he makes this hobby fun and doesn't take himself too seriously, I think he's an avid MTB fan too which means Similar minds into off road etc etc share similar interests , looking forward to the channel going forward and growing followers , great video Francis well done bud ✌🏻

To fix the steering problem, cvds and hex nuts, we just might put the SCX10iii straight axles. Maybe.

    • @straubz5450
      @straubz5450 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

standard 10th scale axles work really well on these, also do a 3 link front with panhard conversion to fix the steering, and move the steering servo on top of the mounts to get more clearance on top of the axle.

Really interested in this truck. Looking forward to seeing what else u do to it. I think bigger crawlers are going to be the next “big thing” soon. More realistic and fun. Kinda like the xmaxx for bashing. Bigger is better sometimes.

That holmes Hobby trialmaster sport 21 turn is an awesome motor. I put them in my traxxas slash and stampede. lose a little speed but, a pinion gear swap fix that.

Francis, i hope you read this :D ... i'll try to keep it short.
    for starters, i own a Cragsmann founder 2 (also 1/8 scale but i paid 780 euro's)
just keep this in mind for later.
i have the exact same model and color.
    what i did to it:
put in a Axe Xerun 2300Kv (first edition with the big sensor cabel)
All off the shocks, i've put the screwring complete to the top (the ring you use to make the spring harder or softer)
Took the wheel off the back door. (dremeld the plastic part/pipe) back door is now completely flat and used a sticker to hide the holes.
I had square magnets from 5mm laying around (took some nosepliers to heat up the magnet and then let it melt into the body (so the back door is also secured with 2 small and strong magnets)
and i placed some Manga stickers on the body (i love Manga animation :D) this helps with the speed --> sticker tuning i call it :p
i use the Absima CR4T Ultimate as transmitter.
my plan if possible: (still have to look)
    wraith skid plate
    wraith alloy axles
    custom or wraith links
and some nice looking alloy beadlocks.
what can i say so far...
    this car from banggood (+-300euro's)
has much more satisfaction then the cragsmann that cast me around 780 euro's
the cragsmann has locking diffs and also hi or low speed.
BUT! every small servo broke after 2 runs.
after 3runs the steering servo also broke down for a car that costed 780 euro's... very sad.
same for the driveshafts... quit hard plastic that quickly broke....
This cheap defender has JX servo's in it!!!! big and small one! i had to look twice! so very good servo's!! nice job double e!
the double e gives so much more satisfaction. i just love it!
i have some running vids, when i place them online i will put a link in this review
i have a really good movie where you can see the tires and body articulate. will post this this evening if I don't forget it :D
only bad thing... i got my double e and the transfer case and motor case was loose...
i could add grease to the gears without wrenching :p
but when i secured everthing and titening the bolts... the hole thing seezed up.
everything was stuck as hell :p
    quickly found out the reason...
--> no ball bearings... all copper buschings that they used..
will swap those out also (when i have time to measure everthing :p)
My conclusion: the double e defender 110 is great for it's price!!! ( I can look at it for Houres!! :D)
and like (most) every other crawler out off the box
you will have to buy upgrades if you want it to perform like a real one.
Francis, sorry for any spelling mistakes ( i'm dutch :D Belgium, not Holland :D)
    Take care!

Hi Francis, you really should review the Flysky Noble NB4. I've had mine for over 6 months now and it's insane bang for the buck. The new firmware for the 8ch receivers was also released recently that lets you monitor battery voltage without anything extra. $30 for 8ch receivers is crazy cheap and their $24 4ch receivers are perfect for bashing as they are waterproof and have a built-in gyro. Also, word on the street is that Flysky is working on a new firmware to upgrade them to 12ch as they just released a 12ch ground receiver.

I wonder if you had a moment to use it full stock and record it where it met its limitations in different scenarios (or maybe even your usual crawling spots), in order to compare it with your upgrades on a later run. If not, there's an idea for any other project you decide to upgrade!
