Hey Kathleen! :) That is such a great question! We reserved our umbrella prior to our cruise because it was cheaper to do so. You can reserve it once you are onboard the ship, but the price is about $20 as opposed to $14, if you wait to reserve on the ship. I don't know if you can do it once you are on Ocean Cay. However, the night before arrival, the steward will put a sheet of paper in your cabin that lets you reserve an umbrella if you haven't done so already. If you reserve one prior to the cruise like us, you will receive an envelope in your stateroom at some point before arriving at Ocean Cay with a "ticket" (kind of like an excursion ticket), that shows you purchased/reserved an umbrella. We took those onto the island, and interestingly enough, the crew member at the little pink hut wasn't interested in seeing our tickets or taking them. lol She just asked that we return the umbrellas back to that hut, rather than turning them in somewhere else.
