Hi, my metal detector shows an E2 (vanquish 440) error how to fix it? can you help me plase? I reset many times and nothing

That is a system error. You will need to contact minelab.

They have great customer service. I just wish they would beef up their coil ears. That is a big problem on the equinox machines. I’ve never had that problem with any other machines I’ve owned. They have replaced two of my coils, FOC, for this reason

Are you tightening the coil bolt too tight? Are you replacing the rubber washers when they wear out?

@@SodBustersMetalDetecting I’m real careful with the bolt tightening. I think since I do a lot of water hunting, there is a lot of drag in the water when swinging. It probably weakens the ears.

👍 hey man I didn't see the folding shaft on your machine did that not work out for you or do you just have several 800's ?

I only use it when traveling. It's a handy piece of equipment. I use the stock shaft unless I'm needing to make the detector compact for a trip

Thank you for the info. I've never had any trouble with these codes nut a friend of mine had to send his 800 back for repairs THREE times. I wish the build quality was better on the Equinox

I got the error message about two weeks ago when I was on the beach and saw ER on display. Then the whole screen got utterly dark, and it scared me too much. I shot off the machine and turned that on again, then I didn't see the error because the entire screen was black! For the second time, I turned that off, and I came back home, then turned that on again, and saw that returned to the regular operation. Finally, after searching & investigating a lot about the issue, I realized the machine had been overheated just because I leand that on the scoop under the sun while I was taking the break. Although the machine's warranty remained for about a year, that busted me at that moment.

Thanks for a clear report on the error messages. I discovered the cd error the first time a switched on the control pod without having first attached the coil. I learned about the bf error when my battery died rather prematurely. I had to send the control pad back to the ML repair center, while under warrentee. I am hoping not to get the er errors!
