    I didn't know they had a lifetime warranty against fading. Mine seem to be stained with clay. They did take a good whack from a tree in the woods and while it knocked my tail light off, there was no damage to the fender from the rub or bump on the tree.

      Warranty is good for original owner, You might want to check with the folks at MCE, it should be covered. Thanks so much for watching!

    Looks really good man! That’s the same route I would go if and when I move into the 3rd stage of the build! MCE’s are awesome!

    Hey JK Southwest, I know this is late but have you had any issues with these fenders to date? Thinking about installing these on my rig

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These fenders have been great. I am so happy with them. They still look like new, no fading. They are still mounted solid, nothing is loose or fluttering. They install in minutes, are lightweight and have come down in price since they first hit the market. Thanks so much for watching!

    I’m thinking of going this same route. I just went to 37’s on my 2012 JKU. i too have the JKS lift and short arm suspension. I did need to cut some of the back body at the rear tire as it rubbed when even hitting a small bump. Did you run into the same deal?

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometime late 2014 or early 2015 Jeep changed the design of the pinch seam around the rear tire. It gave you a little more room in the wheelwell. My 2015 had the new design, so i did not need to trim any around the rear wheel. I also pushed the tire back about 1/2 inch with the control arms to center the tire a little more. And the RockHard 4x4 sliders I have are designed to accomodate a 37” tire as well. Thanks so much for watching!

    Do these fenders stain like the OE fenders?

    • @JKsouthwest

      I have had them on for a year now and no stains yet! Thanks for watching!

    How can you possibly think JK fenders are an upgrade from the TJ? They went from steel with a plastic flare to a giant hunk of sun fading plastic that’s like a foot wide lol

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for watching! The 2 piece fender design on the TJ never looked right to me, half metal and half plastic? Plus you had the same fading problems. The JK design provided much more room underneath for a larger tire size and more coverage for those larger tires.

      JK southwest JK fenders just always looked too childish to me. it’s like a fisher price toy with giant chunks of plastic, but to each his own

      @@lucatosi2933 That's what is so awesome about Jeeps, no two are alike. Everyone builds their Jeep different. Thanks again for watching!

    How many holes do you need to drill for these fenders?

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fenders use a combination of existing holes and a couple of self tapping screws to secure them. The install is very quick and there is no permanent modification to the Jeep. Thanks for watching!

    Liners were at my House in record time..... The MCE fenders, not so much..... A month later and still waiting...... Sigh.......
    Great news..... Took 4 months but by golly they are here and ready for install....... Now my JKU is almost as awesome as yours..... lol

    Are the fender flares the wide or narrow ones?

    • @JKsouthwest

      I have the wide ones. I wanted the extra coverage over the narrow ones. Thanks so much for watching!

      I’ve been overlanding for years in a Tacoma. It’s still running great, but just has too many miles on it to take out into the middle of nowhere (like I do) so I’ve recently replaced it with a 2017 Sport. I’ve added a 3” Teraflex short arm lift, and 35” K02’s. Now I’m looking at a stronger Tire Carrier, and bumpers. It is a journey, but the lift & tires have gotten me back out there. I do really like those fenders though. Filing that info away for later. 😉

    • @JKsouthwest
      @JKsouthwest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rael6_4wd Sound like you have a great rig. I have the Teraflex tire carrier and really like it. It holds my 37" spare solid, and gives you more options when looking for a bumper.

      Thanks. Sometimes I wish I’d gotten the four door. It’s been tough getting my overland gear into it, but the two door gets me into so many places I couldn’t take the Tacoma. The Teraflex Carrier is definitely the best one on the market. Especially if you want to strap some MaxTracks and a Fuel container onto the back. I don’t believe the others have that capability.

      @JKsouthwest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rael6_4wd I used to have a 2 door TJ and know how small they are. I have filled my 4 door with gear a couple times, it's nice to have the extra space!
