t's a pretty big call to say that a week long motorcycle adventure through 2 South East Asian nations is your DREAM motorcycle adventure. But for three Kiwi mates working fulltime jobs, this kind of life long dream was actually achievable. So we made it happen!

Both @c90adventures and Kanichi Fujiwara ( / @kanichifujiwaraaround... ) provided the inspiration to do such an adventure, however being limited by our annual leave allowance at our day jobs, we adopted the months long adventure attitude into shorter day based mentality and had the time of our lives.

Supplier in Malaysia, shipped all new plastic to America, at a great price, for my 1964 Honda Super Cub C102 restoration / Lifan 125 electric start upgrade.
They had everything I needed to rebuild the stock air cleaner system and new tail light / turn signals too.
Would not have been possible without contacting supplier directly and getting everything I needed bulk shipped together.
So glad they still make those old parts at great prices.

Yes the Top Gear trip is so great. But even with a smaller budget a cool trip is possible!

Being a brand new rider, who am still on my L licence, I wish that I could do this kind of riding trip someday soon, and I love those full face helmets, they look awesome! Love 'em!

actually I'm planning to go from Malaysia, Kajang, to India, Mizoram (Aizawl) with my Yamaha YZF-R15 V3. It's 3270 kilometres. 770 kilometres more than u guys
i'm planning to go alone. i must pass Thailand & Myanmar to finally reach there. it's a very long journey.
Seeing you do it on these bikes gave me some hope that i can do it too.. now im just scared that if my bike will breakdown in a highway or bridge, with no repair shops nearby and imagine if my SIM card isn't working and I can't call for help
Amazing idea for a journey. Yes you can definitely do that trip on a R15! Easily. Learn some basic maintenance is the best way to prepare. Local people will always help if they can.

You should also look for drag bike like modified honda wave for drag race and other underbone bikes, thai concept/streetbike concept underbone bikes, vanz concept underbone bikes etc. This concepts has been popular around south east asia and there are events, gatherings, competition for the best form for specific concept of their bike. maybe you'll be intersted with these type of concepts

Cool trip. Love the little bikes. Did you guys use Bluetooth helmets to communicate? What about GPS?
We didn’t use any in helmet communication. Which was terrible! We wouldn’t do this again unless we had Cardo Bluetooth systems. (Have used the brand a tonne with good success). It would have made things so much easier to be able to chat while riding. GPS was simple google maps on our phones - it was sufficient but required a SIM card swap at the border.

They disintegrated with assistance. The wheels from my bike are now on a Zundapp in New Zealand’s South Island. Engine is in my shed now built up to 118cc.
