    For the past 4 years I've flown into Chiang Mai,taken a couple of days to get over the jet lag,and then rented a big bike and wandered around northern Thailand,Cambodia,and Lao. I'm 68 and will do it as long as I can and for as long as someone will rent me a bike. The people,scenery,and food are amazing. I've made a number of friends and they insist I stay with them everytime I'm in country. Many of them ride and they've taken me places I would never have found on my own.

      @@jasonspollen8998 While I agree, and I never parked in them, (I have actually parked right next to that spot they did) disabled spots are generally disregarded in Thailand, as are all traffic codes.

    Firstly I love watching your video reviews. I'm from Australia and I hadn't ridden a bike on the road for about 35 years. In 2017 I took a trip to Phuket where I hired a scooter to travel around. Getting used to the controlled mayhem of the traffic was quite a task but I eventually got used to it. I have been back to Phuket each year since and just love riding the scooter everywhere. I have since bought myself a bike back home and am a regular rider again. I'm planning a "Thailand Tour" next year up in Chiang Mai on Royal Enfield Interceptors. Watching this video has made me eager to get back there. It is a special place and the people are just wonderful. Thanks for sharing your videos to the world. Cheers John

    I bought a Honda SH300i after coming back from Thailand and putting around on a 125cc scooter for a week. It was great fun on the hire scooter but I had to push up steep hills, especially since I had a pillion! 300cc is great fun and surprises drivers at the lights since it looks look a fairly typical not so fast scooter.
    I have my eye on the Tiger 900 one day but will no doubt keep the scooter and memories of my Thailand trip over 10 years ago.

    Absolutely wonderful! so many memories. We have unfortunately just had to sell our house in Thailand (did not want to) so i have been looking forward to this one. As you discovered, the first thing you find out about Thailand, apart from driving on the left, is the lovely people and with very few exceptions, they are all like that. Song Leo quat lek....two small Leo beers.

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We did quite a few Leo's whilst out there, and oddly not a single Singha which is odd because in Thai restaurant's here it seems to be all you can get....

    Great video show TMF. I'm a little bit disappointed that you're not going up north for the best riding of your life. Around Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and the Mae Hong Son loop. But it gives you an excuse to back. I immediately subscribed to catch the rest of this series.

    Been waiting for this one Sir. Traffic rules are just a suggestion in Thailand but somehow it all works most of the time. In January 2020, 2500 people died in traffic accidents for many reasons. Still it's a wonderful place with very friendly people and a lot of fun. Can't wait for the next episode.......Sal : ) in Cha-am by the beach.

    Enjoyed your video. I went to Ao Nang, Krabi 2 years ago with my family. We hired a Toyota HiLux Invincible for 2 weeks and travelled all over southern Thailand. The roads are surprisingly good, the traffic very light and the road manners top notch. Would highly recommend an adventure in Thailand, amazing experience (lots different from here in the IOM).

    There are speed cameras and speed limit signage. Like anywhere there is an expectation that drivers/riders understand the limits for each area. Some great road and freeways in Thailand too.
