Thank you. You have made a better case for those rear seats than any other reviews I have read. Seems contemporary reviewers are not satisfied with anything less the ability to sprawl in one's seats. If that was really the case, then the space in my recliner should be the benchmark--which would have us all riding about exclusively in vans. Your reviews are refreshingly straightforward and filled with sanity.
I have the 7 seater and honestly kinda regret buying it. Almost all the cargo liners are designed for the 5 seater and those aren't compatible with the 7 seater so you have to take what you can get. You also don't get that small bit of extra storage that the 3rd row folds down into and you also don't get the parcel shelf. The 3rd row is really only OK for children and young adults but I still wouldn't recommend sitting 2 people back there. There is so little feet room that I wouldn't want more than 1 person to ever sit back there. Because of the way the 2nd row is split (2 seat/1seat) the rails at the feet are very close together on one side and force whoever is unlucky enough to be on that side to sit with their feet together. That's probably acceptable for a very short trip but there is really no wiggle room and it quickly becomes uncomfortable. Adults would rather just take a 2nd vehicle if you have that many people (at least in the US). Unless you know you will get a lot of use out of it I would recommend against buying it, even if you want it just in case it might be used (which is why i bought it).
We don't need our 3rd row every day, but we do need it every week. We've never used it on a road trip, but for a family the size of ours, it's critical to have the flexibility.
@@FutureAzA Have you considered another car then? The kia ev9 for example is a 7seater electric car that was actually made with intention of having normal sized people in the back. I recommend you look into it!! I'm pretty sure that it got chosen as the car of the year in the past and ive only hear positive things about it from families that have bought it :)
@@FutureAzA Something similar for us. We use the 3rd row maybe once a month, never in road trips (so ok to sacrifice the cargo space when we use it), and we never had a need to fit 7 basketball players - it was always possible to choose shorter passengers to sit there. So having a foldable tiny 3rd row is extremely convenient for us. But we currently have an ICE car (Peugeot 5008). We are looking for an electric replacement and there are just no comparable options unfortunately...

The EQB isn't the best looking option out there, but the Model Y isn't a looker either. Especially now since they're on every street corner here in the US. One thing that the EQB definitely has going for it is the third row space. It is much more roomier than the Model Y.
I would love to have a 7 seater Model Y. So sad that they started selling it in Europe just now. I don’t want to buy a new car so I will have to wait another 5 years until 7 seaters will be sold for a reasonable price 😢 Until then I will stick to the used Model 3. Need to sell my Ioniq 2017 first😂
Mercedes EQB is just GLB with electric motor instead of the petrol engine. It was not designed to be an electric car and has many issues because of this.
Was also there at the Bar Hill opening event. No modern 7 seater ever seems to come near the venerable Renault Espace. The 3nd row seats were the same the second row. You could even take them all out to use as super comfy camping chairs and fold one as a table. Brilliant bit of design. Had a chuckle over the LBGTQ+ cars, Tesla UK obviously hadn't got the memo from Musk HQ... I wasn't quite sure what they were so sensitive about in the rest of the warehouse, it seemed empty to me. Maybe that was the point or maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough. Very tempted by the Midnight Cherry MY though.
Hello Will, Good video I an planing on a new car in August 25, if all gose right? Top of my list is the Tesla Model 3. Thanks for a clear (ver Grok) explanation. My big opertunrty is that I am a disabled person and trying to find any one to adapt any EV in the UK is XXXX. Keep up the good work. Thank you
Having currently no passel of munchkins to transport, I’ve no need for that third row of seats. I think you have a little more cargo room without it, and the car costs and weighs less. So, it isn’t currently important to me. HOWEVER, back when the kids, their cousins and friends were all youngsters it would have been a must have feature. Kudos to Tesla for successfully engineering and delivering that third row MY seat to the customers that were demanding it.
As I mentioned in the video, as a family of four I could take my parents out too. Plus take my kids and their friends out.. just having the option of extra seats for those occasions would be great for me personally. No doubt others too.
@@alko_xo it's not for everyday usage. It's to be used as a standard 5-seater car daily, that can be transformed to be 7-seater occasionally (when grandparents come, or friends, or some relatives)
Seven seats could be good as long as it doesn't stop you getting in through the boot when someone has parked too close to you in an underground car park there again I don't have six friends so wouldn't be much use anyway I'd be better spending the money on the enhanced parking assistant so I could drive the car out of those tight parking space when I can't get in the car 😐
Many teens are at least as tall as you, so I'm not sure how practical this is for many families. A minivan body style would be much more comfortable and practical.
@TeslaJigsaw No, I don't. The extra seats are indeed useful for some families and larger groups, especially for short trips, and they are a good option, but a van body style is a more practical and comfortable solution to maximize passenger and cargo space.
@@jamespaul2587 For 7-seater daily usage a van is the best option for sure. However if you only need 7 seats occasionally then driving a van daily might not be the best choice.
@MykolaDzham Very true, however a different body style without the sloping back of Teslas would provide more passenger and cargo space, perhaps with a slight reduction in aerodynamic efficiency.
tesla is shit anyway, why have a large storage in the front, reorganize the seating have a proper 7 seater with large legs pace. why is he wasting so much front space if he does not have an engine??

@@francisdebriey3609 The idea that people spend that much money frivolously is ridiculous. That many individual buying decisions is impossible to argue against. I say this as someone who's spent quite a bit of time in both.
@kenhiett5266 well I have driven the model Y, latest model, recently, and I confirm that the quality of build of model Y doesn't compare to the one of ioniq5. And, if people buy the model Y, it's for another reason than aesthetics, it's mainly because the price/efficiency+range of the model Y is the best of the planet.
