Seriously guys, are you doing this to me on purpose... twice in three videos you do a video focused on the exact thing I could have used a little help with... just after I've decided I'm happy with my work and uploaded it :D
The tutorial and the final result on the scar itself were amazing, and quite realistic. This is definitely something that I can use when designing cinematic posters, fiction/sci-fi novel images, Comicon costume drafts, and (of course) Halloween pictures. If there was only one thing I could highly recommend to Aaron after having watched nearly all of his videos on TH-cam and off his website, it would be the great necessity of labeling the layers when working - especially when providing a tutorial. This was a fast-paced tutorial and bouncing around the six different layers within the scar group made it difficult to keep track of which layer was being worked on at any given time while trying to dedicate my attention to the actual lesson. Nonetheless, this is a fantastic video for any level Photoshop user. Thank you for your passion and dedication Aaron.
you should make more cool tutorials like make someones head to a pumpkin but cooler that was the best i can come up with now but you get the idea. Oh i saw a picture when someone photoshopped a face to a book and it looked like he could open his face, i want more of that
These are really great tutorials. I, too, have been using Photoshop, Corel Photo-Paint and others for many years for photo restoration and photo editing/manipulation, but you are doing things I don't normally do, so your videos are great as tutorials and for suggesting image ideas!! Thanks so much for sharing.
this is sooooooo simple, yet so effective/realistic! I've kinda gave up in trying to get that stuff look real..but now.... I will HAVE to try THIS! Thanks for a tutorial, Aaron!
I is just sad that I stumble onto this tutorial after I spend a whole day battling with the same concept, I have this now bookmarked ! Thanks for a good one
great halloween episode.. and creepy. You asked for a suggestion for an episode. Could be awesome to see your take on making a starscenery with a nebula, some planets or whatever you think fits, or makes a good composition. Im working on that myself often and found blendingmodes helpful plus also the layereffect that hides some of the current layer where its grey, just played with the sliders. fun! hope you like the idea.
Thanks so much for this video! I managed to photoshop a realistic scar onto my cosplay! This is exactly what I was looking for, quick, easy and straight to the point. Cheers 🙌🏻
i really learned a lot of you! but this is the only tutorial that does a lil fake in my eyes with the hard edges on the left site. Other than that, keep up the awesome work!
I hate you Aaron. I should be outside enjoying Global Warming in NY --70 degrees in October--but instead, I am adding blood to my photos. God I hate these tutorials. They are so addictive. Still, this addiction is much healthier than crack, meth or an afternoon spent at McDonalds. I have to keep upping my game. Now I have you to thank when I am a bloody mess. Keep up the great videos.
At the beginning, when you used the clone tool, you can see the effect of using this. However, even though I've followed everything you've done, my clone stamp does nothing. Why could this be?
Have you done a tutorial on removing flesh? Last year I tore off half my face in a Halloween themed photo and would love to do it again using advanced techniques.
hello sir...U r using more ShortCut keys...I m unable to catch..which key is pressed or i m unable to guess where is mouse pointer moves on..please use preview which key is pressed or use visual tools for for better understaing...thanks for Videos
as do some letters of blood drawn with the finger on a smooth surface like a mirror ...? your videos are incredible. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent
You really need to change the name of this great tutorial to "How to Create a Wound in Photoshop." A scar is a wound that has healed. It takes at least a week to start forming & continues to form over the next few months. Therefore, scar is not synonymous with wound. Though I already knew how to simulate a wound, I had to look elsewhere once I figured out the tutorial was not about making scars. And no, just using a healing brush on a wound doesn't make it a scar. lol
+TheAndkonmegalodon Since a scar is lighter than the surrounding tissue, I used the dodge tool to lighten the area of the scar. Make several passes at a low flow rate in order to make the midline of the scar lighter (& thus higher) than the outer parts of the scar. Then burn a little outside the scar to give the scar height. Burn a little more on the side opposite the light source. Sorry I can't explain it better than that. It's a shame that Phlearn does not appear to care about the accuracy of their teaching since they have not yet changed the name of this tutorial.
I think at 1:52 there is a mistake. The bottom Subtitle should be Shift + Delete in order to Fill with Foreground Color not Ctrl/Cmd + Delete. Hopefully people figure it out! Otherwise good video !
Hi there, absolutely love your videos guys :) just wanted to know what version of photoshop you guys are using..? Thanks and keep up the great videos :)
I imagine if I want my scar to be a mild beige and brown one, I'd make the black a brown, but what about the outer rim of the scar that you've got as a reddish skin colour, if I want that to be beige, a lighter tone of the brown I'll be using, how do I go about achieving that? Thx.
I will love to see something on coloring subjects like when the light source is a glowing alien cristal that wnat to destroy humanity or something along those lines. P.S you guys are amazing!
Hi Aaron and team! Great episode :) I'm doing a halloween photo at the moment, inspired by your intro and i really struggle with making black tears especially with reflections and highlights that would be visible on it. Do you have any suggestions?
Plssss after drawing the cuts and creating new lawyer to cover the cuts edges the stamp clone don’t work on the new layer can you plsss help me am using windows and cc6
Great .. thank you so much , I've been trying to make a scar , i think i made a good one by another way but I wanted an old scar on the skin. How can i share the photo with you to give me advices , It has been a long time i didn't photograph any thing because of the war and the situation , And I'm trying to get my self back in
Dang! I must be a total noob! I can't figure out how you made a selection with the lasso tool on an empty layer. (in the very beginning when you made the scar) You don't get the marching ants like I do. When I try to Shift / Delete on that layer, I get a message "could not complete the cut command because the selected area is empty". Any suggestions?
He said shift but what he pressed was either ctrl or altl, because those keys combined with delete will add either foreground or background colors and fill that selection. shift + del gives you a fill dialogue option.
When I click shift + delete while the empty layer is selected, I get error that the selected area is empty. If I instead have the picture marked, it doesn't let me fill it with black, it just becomes transparent. Using the clone stamp tool then does nothing. What's wrong?
Don't know what I'm doing wrong but this isn't working for me. I followed the steps and all I have is the black scar thing and the clone stamp doesn't work.
Love your vids. I've purchased a few at creative live and continuously revisit. Great work. I do need to learn how to do a "scar" though (one not so fresh) =)
I don't even use photoshop but I just love watching these tutorials
*****
your guys are amazing

If anyone had trouble with have the clone stamp tool work, make sure the sample in the top right is set to current and below. hope that helped
My hero!
Great episode as usual!
What about an episode on "how to carve a pumpkin in Photoshop" ?
I'm sure you'd show other amazing technics to do that!
A pretty cool tutorial but it's a wound/cut not a scar. Misleading title.
he does say that in the video actually
Thanks. How the heck do you learn this stuff
I find it hilarious how while I was watching this my nose randomly started bleeding.
You should make a video that teaches us how to add body parts to a model, e.g. 2 heads or 4 arms! :D
Siempre regalando tutoriales muy buenos...gracias y felicitaciones por su trabajo.
love this fast paced episode
Love love love all the tutorials ! :) thanks for sharing

it's very nice tuts PHLEARN Sir.
How to add realistic cobwebs to a photo would be an interesting episode ^__^
loved the video, and loved the sick intro dude
Would you ever consider doing video of old body scars? Ones that was healed up but leaving scars.
I is just sad that I stumble onto this tutorial after I spend a whole day battling with the same concept, I have this now bookmarked !
Thanks for a good one
Amazing! I love it!
I love it so much bro!!! thanks for you to spend time for us

I think you guys should group like tutorials, like Halloween or beauty retouch, etc.
Thanks so much for this video! I managed to photoshop a realistic scar onto my cosplay! This is exactly what I was looking for, quick, easy and straight to the point. Cheers 🙌🏻
I finally figured it out. I finally realized who Aaron looks like....
Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog.
WTF THATS CREEPY AS SHIT
How awesome!!!!!!!
Amazing Aaron. Thxs. Cheers.
David

excelente tutorial,me ajudou muito,muito obrigado
i really learned a lot of you! but this is the only tutorial that does a lil fake in my eyes with the hard edges on the left site.
Other than that, keep up the awesome work!
Could you show how to make a beach and the sea more attractive, and what you could do to make a town look better?
what is the keyboard shortcut you use to change the size of the brush so quickly?
That's brilliant.......

Don't you sample from the main background layer? How come you do not click that layer before sampling?
Totally awesome!

+Dom Carter You need to hold alt to select the area to clone.
still not because its another layer so how
this guy is amazing :0
Have you done a tutorial on removing flesh? Last year I tore off half my face in a Halloween themed photo and would love to do it again using advanced techniques.
The Clone stamp doesn’t work it just makes more

Nice lesson. Thank you..
simple but effective...:) great Lara Croft theme
So confusing. When you are creating a new layer, are you duplicating the layer below, or creating an empty new layer?
thanks! great lesson :)

+Brian Campbell Did you find out how to make a scar? I urgently need to find out how.

Brian Campbell It is possible for you to make a small video of this? I understand the text but I'd like to make sure exactly what I'm doing.
+TheAndkonmegalodon Sorry. I don't have the software or time to do that.
Brian Campbell That is unfortunate, but understandable. Thank you for the next tutorial. I will do what I can.
You are awesome dude !
Thx !
Id like to see you do a zombie. There's so many tutorials out there some good some bad and some really bad but I haven't seen one that's like WOW!
Could you or do you have a tutorial to make a image all white, like make a photo of a person into a all white sculpture?
Hi, i cant do the clone stamp tool, i create a new later and it doesnt work

Loved this video!! Can you do a tutorial on a cool looking zombie dog like the ones in Resident Evil? Thanks bro!
I was watching some of your videos and saw this! I just got a scar this morning in my forehead.. Oh the irony of life
It's really amazing.. thank u
cool :) I'm defiantly learning this :)
Hey man, I would like to know how to make a scar in hair, so the hair becomes white because of the scar damaging the follicles?
This was great! Do you have any regarding old scars/when they turn white? I tried to apply this one to that idea but it doesn't transfer over as well
Hey um, I seem to remember you already did a scar vid? Only I can't find it.. where is it? I prefer working with the old one :(
Nice tutorial! Can you please tell me what type of pen are you using and the model of this????
Please do a tutorial on hpw to make the black skin as shown in the intro clip :)
Okey that's a way to do it ^^
But can it also be done in Ps?
I imagine if I want my scar to be a mild beige and brown one, I'd make the black a brown, but what about the outer rim of the scar that you've got as a reddish skin colour, if I want that to be beige, a lighter tone of the brown I'll be using, how do I go about achieving that? Thx.
Halloween: how to make lightroom strike

I will love to see something on coloring subjects like when the light source is a glowing alien cristal that wnat to destroy humanity or something along those lines.
P.S you guys are amazing!

Hi Aaron and team! Great episode :) I'm doing a halloween photo at the moment, inspired by your intro and i really struggle with making black tears especially with reflections and highlights that would be visible on it. Do you have any suggestions?
Why doesn't my Clone Stamp Tool work when I do EXACTLY the same with it as you do? I am using Photoshop CC.
this is amazing
I know this is probably not that much of a stretch for you Aaron, but how do you add a tear to an eye?
***** Thanks Aaron! Watched video and have tears streaming everywhere now:) So easy in PS and GIMP

Haha you guys would make a gash/scar tutorial RIGHT after I used your old one....
Dang! I must be a total noob! I can't figure out how you made a selection with the lasso tool on an empty layer. (in the very beginning when you made the scar) You don't get the marching ants like I do. Any suggestions?
He said shift but what he pressed was either ctrl or altl, because those keys combined with delete will add either foreground or background colors and fill that selection. shift + del gives you a fill dialogue option.
You are Amazing..
my paint brush doesnt seem soft at all... it is like in paint... does it have to be like that? or i need huge picture for that?
***** thank you ^^ i now noticed he has flow 30% :p
When I click shift + delete while the empty layer is selected, I get error that the selected area is empty. If I instead have the picture marked, it doesn't let me fill it with black, it just becomes transparent. Using the clone stamp tool then does nothing. What's wrong?
