How to Add DEPTH Using ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE in your Photoshop Manipulations!

Hello everyone, in this video, I will show you the use of atmospheric perspective and depth in your #Photoshop compositions. Atmospheric perspective changes the tonal and color values of distant objects due to dust, fog, and other particles present in the air. It can be an easily overlooked subject, but it can take your compositions to a whole new level if applied correctly.
In the first part of the video, I addressed a brief difference of atmospheric depth to the depth of field. These two topics are often confused, and many beginners end up adding incorrect depth of field to their Photoshop compositions. Then I explained in detail all the points needed to apply the atmospheric perspective and depth. And, finally, I demonstrated a practical application of the same on a Photoshop composition.

I usually sample the color of the sky near where I want to add the haze or fog and create a solid color adjustment fill and invert the mask. Then paint back in how much haze I want with a large soft brush. I guess its the same, just another way of doing things in Ps. Thanks for the detail tutorial.

Thank you so much! Yes you can absolutely try out gradient map, after all in PS you can achieve a similar result using many different methods :) :) Gradient Map even can give you finer controls to adjust the darker and lighter tones. So yes please so ahead with that.
As for the color grading, yes sure, it was kind of experimental, but I will definitely try to include the steps in one of the future videos :)

Thanks man! Well, honestly, I haven't gone through any books. But I have heard "Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter" by James Gurney is a very nice book. It has overall concepts about color, so feel like it may have those concepts. But I can't be sure unless I go through it :)
