I live in NC and used to make my way out west to hunt and hike, I've hikes the Tetons, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, and a number of places around Oregon, Utah and Washington. I've since been diagnosed with a pretty debilitating form of Rheumatoid Arthritis and can't do the long trips anymore. I still get out around the Carolinas and do what I can, but it's not the west! Anyhow, I can get lost in your videos and actually feel the feelings I used to get out west, and I appreciate it more than you can know!

I really enjoyed your video. Several years ago I went up the Amazon River in Peru. I did a bunch of research before the trip and found mosquitos there cause malaria. I found Sawyer brand mosquito repellant and fabric treatment that USA armed forces used. I ordered it. I treated some of my clothing and bandanas with the product and packed those items in an extra large zip lock back. I wore the treated shirt and put a treated bandana on my hat as a hat band. I also sprayed the product around the bottom of my pants legs. We traveled by boat miles up river to the jungle and back. The mosquitos were fierce like in your video. I did not get bitten at all. They would not even light on my clothing. There are several products for dogs and horses that work quite well and I'm sure for goats as well!

Nice adventure,next time you're cooking put the meat first in the pot to steam cover the pot until it's done. Add veggies last, don't over cook vegetables.
I agree with your sentiment about loving to sleep in the woods - I make a point to sleep in a hammock during my backpacking trips. (with other gear of course). Sometimes I find myself with anxious thoughts about predators, etc but have grown to ease those intrusive thoughts especially deep in nature.

@@fireboxstove I got to say living in the city an all I definitely understand the need for the outdoors. Like most Kids I used to go night fishing on the River for a week at a time with my step Dad George and the dogs came with us except they weren't as well trained as yours and everytime we caught a big fish the dogs would jump in the river after it 😁🤭. Nothing like sitting around a big fire in the evening:) You should get one of those anti mosquito devices they create a few feet of midget free space :)

Of the dozens and dozens and hundreds of hours of outdoor content I have watched over the years, Steve’s are hands down the most well put together scenery, video, sound and editing. Fabulous adventure. Nailed the video yet again. Can you apply deet or permethrin to the goats and dogs? The animals panting by the stationary camera shots sounds like a steam locomotive 👍🏼
This was great! Using those goats as pack animals is a really interesting idea.. they seemed very much up to the task but, I was a little disappointed that you didn't help them and the dogs with a mosquito repellent[?], what with all the gear they hauled in. Your steak dinner looked awsome! I wonder how long you could stay in the bush with those goats? There seemed ti be plenty of grass and water to sustain them. Nice job!
Thanks Chuck, I didn't prepare for mosquitoes even for myself much less the animals. I thought that we had a frost just prior but that apparently was not the case. I'll be sure to have some of the natural stuff with me next time just in case I miss read the weather again. 👍👌😎😊🙏

First time in 67 years of life I saw goats used for cargo transportation. Amazing.
They are great, they can carry 50 lbs each but we usually only load them with 25. We sure are thankful for them!

We have trained them since an early age, they do great! Without training it might be a whole lot harder lol.

This was great! Using those goats as pack animals is a really interesting idea.. they seemed very much up to the task but, I was a little disappointed that you didn't help them and the dogs with a mosquito repellent[?], what with all the gear they hauled in. Your steak dinner looked awsome!
I wonder how long you could stay in the bush with those goats? There seemed ti be plenty of grass and water to sustain them. Nice job!
Thanks Chuck, I didn't prepare for mosquitoes even for myself much less the animals. I thought that we had a frost just prior but that apparently was not the case. I'll be sure to have some of the natural stuff with me next time just in case I miss read the weather again. 👍👌😎😊🙏
