Well, as we all know she isn't actually his mother. He's probably felt a lot of passive aggressiveness towards her over the years with her constant nagging and put downs, exacerbated by the fact that she is of no relation to him. I wouldn't blame him if he just left.
Superintendent Chalmers rang Principal Skinner's doorbell. After Seymour answered the door, Chalmers assured him that he had arrived, despite Skinner's directions. Happy to see the superintendent, Skinner greeted him and hoped that he'd be prepared for an unforgettable luncheon. As Chalmers took a seat, Skinner entered the kitchen, when all of a sudden he realized smoke was emitting from his oven. His roast was ruined. But after looking out his window, Skinner's mind began to form a devilish plan: To purchase fast food and disguise it as his own cooking. As he headed out the window, he was caught dead in his tracks by the superintendent. After Chalmers had caught him red handed, Seymour quickly explaned that he was merely stretching his calves on the windowsill, which was, as he put it, "Isometric exercise." After asking if Chalmers cared to join him, the superintendent ignored him and asked why smoke was coming out of Skinner's oven. Skinner assured him that it was not smoke, but steam. Steam from the steamed clams he was preparing for lunch. He gestured that they would taste good. After Chalmers exited the kitchen, Seymour prepared to execute his plan to fix the luncheon. When lunch began, Skinner stated that he hoped Chalmers was ready for "mouthwatering hamburgers." Chalmers expressed his confusion to the principal as he was under the impression they'd be having steamed clams, but Skinner claimed that he had actually said steamed hams, a term he used to describe hamburgers, baffling the superintendent. Skinner explained that it was a regional dialect, and when Chalmers asked for what region, Skinner replied "Upstate New York." A native of Utica, Chalmers was skeptical, but Seymour assured him it was strictly an Albany expression. As the gentlemen ate, the superintendent felt that the hamburgers were reminiscent of the ones sold at Krusty Burger. Skinner scoffed at the idea and explaned to Chalmers that they were in fact an old family recipe, patented Skinner Burgers™. But Chalmers was still not convinced seeing that the so called "steamed hams" were in fact grilled. At a loss for words Principal Skinner began to stutter. He asked for Chalmers to excuse him for a brief moment, the superintendent agreeing. Realizing that his kitchen was on fire, Skinner reentered the dining room, telling Chalmers that he was tired and ready to end the luncheon. The superintendent was shocked to see what was occuring in the principal's kitchen, to which Skinner replied "Aurora Borealis." Baffled by the principal's responce, Chalmers questioned Skinner's explanation, as Aurora Borealis taking place only in his kitchen sounded unlikely. Assuring him that it was in fact Aurora Borealis, Chalmers asked if he could see it, which the principal replied "No." As Seymour saw Chalmers to the door, Agnes yelled that the house was on fire, which Skinner denied. Chalmers expressed how he felt Skinner was an odd fellow, however he left telling him that he "Steamed a good ham." Hearing more shrieks from Skinner's mother, he took one last look, as Principal Skinner gave him a thumbs up. Once Chalmers was out of sight, Skinner immediately ran in to save his mother from his burning house.

Skinner, and his crazy explanations! Superintendent's gonna need his medication! When he hears more dramatic narration... There'll be trouble in town tonight!
You ever get the feeling that Seymour might just say "Yeah my house is burning down. And it's just what I get for being nice to you." To which Chalmers would reply "You know, it's actually more arrogant to keep pretending a lie than to just own your mistakes. Instead of calming the situation, why don't we say, the steam is building up."
I have actually been wondering what a version of the Simpsons where it was described in immense detail would be like. It’s just as amazing as I had hoped! I wish that it was an audio book or even a real book.
I think i have a theory about this meme. Seymours cooking was ruined and burnt a lot, which ripped time and space that led to other parallel universes. Skinner decided to go tell every universe that his roast was ruined, but failed and was stuck in a room of portals in a magical realm called TH-cam. These portals led to the so called "videos" as the vision of that alternate universe. Since ripping time and space caused real Skinner to corrupt, he felt that he is more than one person. He turned into multiple persons. Which led to this plot twist that we, the viewers are all Skinners going trough different universes.

Celestar Steamed Hams but it's visualized version
I think the scene would work perfectly well for a blind person without a narrator since it is very dialouge driven.

I love how the narration is so well-synchronized. This is brilliant.
I love all the moments when the narration matches the characters' words.
What's to say Skinner was attempting to save his mother? Maybe he was packing his stuff to leave her to burn.
Good lord, I have a dark mind

Oh my gosh this is reminding me of the old VHS Train videos when I was young by what are you narrated with your lovely tone of voice.
This is by far the best one I have seen

*His roast was ruined.*
You need to do more dramatic narrations, this is great.
Skinner, and his crazy explanations! Superintendent's gonna need his medication! When he hears more dramatic narration... There'll be trouble in town tonight!
That narrating voice is amazing, I need more.
Sounda like something you would hear in a criminal investigation show.
The steamy parable.
Crap! Another reference that I get! Who are you people, and why are your viewing habits the same as mine?!
This is the story of a man named Seymour...
I honestly think this one is the best
Why is this so funny
RedShamrock you forgot the question mark
Is adam neely then narrator?

The new Simpsons Audiobook is amazing!
Thats also awesome when you think about, that you always need to talk but the video dont pause so you need a short but still detailed narration.
when someone asks for you to read the police report on the steamed hams incident
Better than expected. Great narration!
"Good lord, what is happening in there?" Superintendent Chalmers asked calmly.
Hahahahaha. I made a similar joke on another steamed hams video just a few hours ago. Another meme that never gets old!
Steamed Hams but you're reading the script
All these steamed hams memes makes me really want a Krusty Burger hamburger
That's never going to be ever possible as Krusty Burger is fictional
I remember the first time I watched this scene, my mom couldn't stop laughing
this feels like watching a movie with descriptive audio
I never knew how badly I needed this..
I hope someday that you make a narration in the style of a Dr Seuss book
Steamed Hams but it can be purchased on Amazon for Audible.

Just one more thing would've made it perfect: if the ending was "and then a fire tru-"

You could easily pass this as a paper for creative writing class. At least a solid B.
steamed hams but its an audio book
I feel like this is essentially a build-up to a mindblowing theory or dark secret of The Simpsons.
I just noticed when he held the burger to show him it was grilled the bite mark was gone
ah Steamed Hams audio book, I'll listen to it
Now get Keven Brighting to do it.
"This is the story of a man named Seymour..."
Skinner didn't form a devilish plan... He formed a DELIGHTFULLY DEVILISH plan!!!
This is very well done, legit. You could do audio books.
This is amazing
I love how *_'Isometric Exercise'_* was synchronized.
This is a reenactment of Skinner violating US copyright laws as recorded by a cop show.
If The Simpsons were books on tape, this is exactly how this part would go.
Aww. I was so disappointed this didn't end with a stinger just saying "...fire truck."
Having your voiceover on its own would sound like a creepypasta reading
Steamed Hams but its an opening testimony.
This reminds me of when I was a kid, I would watch shows or movies on Netflix with audio description turned on for no reason
Skinner x Superintendent fanfiction?
I like how you say the quotes as the characters do.
People are making jokes about this being good for blind people.
Well I am, in fact, blind and this video was very enjoyable. Good job.
steam hams, but its an investigation discovery special
That's strange, I never noticed that Skinner ran back into the house at the end before now.
“when skinner came to a set of two open doors, he entered the door on his left”
0:17 0:49 I like how every so often it syncs up.
You ever get the feeling that Seymour might just say "Yeah my house is burning down. And it's just what I get for being nice to you."
To which Chalmers would reply "You know, it's actually more arrogant to keep pretending a lie than to just own your mistakes. Instead of calming the situation, why don't we say, the steam is building up."
