He is raw talent right now, once he gets coached up, he will be good! He hasn't played b-ball that long like the rest of the kids have at his age, I hear he is a fast learner, one thing you can't teach is height. He has the desire to learn and the will to be the best and he shall be, The NBA and college will coach him up, he will not fail or become another Manute Bowl, he is very young! Also notice his soft touch shooting the ball, that is great for someone that tall. God bless this this kid!!
He might have no more than a 12 inch vertical without a post game yet, but it looks like he can get up and down the court, block shots, rebound and has tons of raw potential. He hasn't been playing basketball that long either so he will be interesting to watch in a couple years when he's eligable for the draft. He can be as good as Yao Ming as long as he stays healthy.
Honestly I cant wait till he joins the nba.... once he builds more muscle mass there won't be anyone able to stop him and their won't be a person he can't stop. Future hall of famer.
He moves surprisingly well for a guy his size. Has a nice shooting touch too. But he needs to develop his skills now if he wants to succeed in the NCAA and one day, the NBA. He's also gonna need to start lifting.
I see him becoming a Manute Bol type player, though hopefully with more longevity. Then again, he could be the next Hasheem Thabeet or Shagari Alleyne.
this reminds me of the fresh prince of bel air when the coach asked the team any question about the plays.. the answer was always "PASS IT TO WILL" (in this case PASS IT TO MAMADOU NDIAYE)
guy is 7'5 and probably still growing, if he stays healthy and has any sort of basketball skill he will be in the nba. He doesnt really need to develop a big skill set
What do you mean? If he was your size, then he would be your size. He wouldn't be 4 ft 5 on an 8 ft rim. He's huge. He doesn't need to be good when all he has to do is stand infront of the net, and hardly jump an inch off the ground to dunk. He can run pretty decent for his size. And the best part of this, is that he isn't some 6'7 guy who we all know won't make it in the NBA seeing as the average height is 6'7. He's 7'5. Nobody in the NBA currently is that size.
I dont think your are quite grasping what I was trying to say...I meant that Mamadou playing against these high school kids would be like me playing against a bunch of 6th graders on an 8ft rim.
As a senegalese I can tell it's not him, that guy on wiki already played in the NBA and he plays in Europe now, before commenting dumb shit, be sure of what you say
@ffdjr1313 you are right, He is a perfect canvis for a GREAT nba player,...lets admit it hieght maker almost every differane in basketball, but in every sport you HAVE to have heart for it and The will to wanna be the best you can, and in his case (possibly) THE best......i dont see no desire in him...
he might be tall, but that's not all there is. he needs footwork and better fundamentals. and he needs to jump- height is an advantage, but not when someone jumps as tall as you and you don't leave the ground...
@KAUpitcher123 Actually I know a lot about basketball. He's got some skill right now but he has a ton of potential. Get him some good coaching and he can be very successful. I never said he could go against lebron or any of those guys and I said he can be successful. To me, getting a full ride to a division 1 school for basketball is going somewhere. As far as the league goes, tons of players who end up going to big schools play in sub par leagues so their stats look good.
Soft touch! But you can tell that the coach tries to keep him from dribbling... Such a long ways between his hands and the ground, would make it easy to steal the ball from him. For the fact that he can actually move pretty well... get him into some more And1 games and some street ball games so he can really learn how to control the ball, and he would be unstoppable!
THAT'S HIS FATHER! Really people? The kid in the video is a teenager! You can't tell the difference between a teenager and a middle-aged man? OMG. GET REAAAL.
He really doesn't even have any basketball skills, seriously. He's just tall. Any of us could do this if we're playing against 1st graders on a Fisher Price hoop.
i've been doing a lot of thinking about the videos of this guy. im 6ft and if you put him down to my scale it would be like me playing against a bunch of a guys who are 4ft 5 on an 8 ft rim. if you take that into consideration he is seriously awful at basketball. its like he doesnt know how big he is. he better learn at least one post move before he attends UC Irvine next year
He would never be able to play for a big time Division 1 team because he can't play man to man defense. All he does defensively is stand around in the paint. Whatever school signs this guy would have to change their entire identity as a team and I don't think this kid would be worth it.

i've never heard a crowd more excited over a jumpball....

He's just a kid. He got a long way too go to a good basketball player, with the right coaching he could og a long way. He a project
Mamadou is my friend he's cool
guy is 7'5 and probably still growing, if he stays healthy and has any sort of basketball skill he will be in the nba. He doesnt really need to develop a big skill set
Hes just chillin
I remember playing on a 7ft. rim..
i really want to play this guy
that smile at 0:33 was like " these niggas think im a high schooler, im about to go in on these kids"
Pink shoes..real cute..
@ffdjr1313 This guy can make it wherever he wants. He's 7 ft. 5! That's bigger than anyone in the NBA and he has skill
i wish he would go to DUKE or PITT
Gotta love his defense. Just stand around laughing at all the short people lol
I actually played against this dude...all I can say is holy shit O.o
terrible comparison. oden was an excellent player, and played well in his limited NBA games, he was just always injured.
How is the score that close? Throw alley oops to him every time down the court

look at number 10 at 10:35 his elite socks are backwards
lol at all the haters..he's gonna be making millions in a few years. U mad?
i feel sorry for him i mean i saw his team today and everyone in the gym was looking at him
I dont think your are quite grasping what I was trying to say...I meant that Mamadou playing against these high school kids would be like me playing against a bunch of 6th graders on an 8ft rim.
he's making 3's in his warmup. granted its HS 3's, but shows some promise.
As a senegalese I can tell it's not him, that guy on wiki already played in the NBA and he plays in Europe now, before commenting dumb shit, be sure of what you say
Why did Greg Oden go back to highschool?
@Pre2247 did u really just say lad?
@ffdjr1313 you are right, He is a perfect canvis for a GREAT nba player,...lets admit it hieght maker almost every differane in basketball, but in every sport you HAVE to have heart for it and The will to wanna be the best you can, and in his case (possibly) THE best......i dont see no desire in him...
He could be really good with work on some things.
hakeem olajuwon was 34 too
what position does he play???????
MANUTE BOL is back.....
look how stagnant the offense is because they just rely on him every time...
9:55 watch the court in the background on the far left... kid made a half court shot lol
I bet all of his teammates led in the assists stats in their area..
look at him, he might be tall but he's bearly moving.
Why is he going to irvine?!
He's wearing 34, Shaq's number. This shows who he probably looks up to.
Is this dude playing on a JV team?
How did he lose the tip.....
he is wearing NIKE HYPERDUNK is it??
:D he just drops the ball to the basket and laughs :D!!!
cuz it's a good school and he likes it there? who are you to judge his college decision?
Oh basketball. A sport where you don't need to be skilled to succeed at all, you just need to have to correct body type.
looks down to you mean xd he's taller then shaq
Just watching him is sending me to sleep. He's just cumbersome
he should be having like 10 blocks a game
he might be tall, but that's not all there is. he needs footwork and better fundamentals. and he needs to jump- height is an advantage, but not when someone jumps as tall as you and you don't leave the ground...
LOL, dude definitely was celebrating winning the jump ball! 4:10

where the hell the hell do you find two basketball teams with one black guy each. I could do good in this league
Imagine reading there roster on a program. Going down the line. 5"6, 5"6, 5"7, 5"10, 7"5, 5"... Wait what? lmao
These white basketballers are probably taller than most people commenting on this video.
this is like having a hack in nba2k
if his action is speeder......
Bet u could take him tbgb09
theyr playing rack city? HAHAHHA! hope its just the instrumental.
Manute BoL is back.........
PINK shoes on a mens basketball team???? what the hell
he should play volleyball
Tall or not let me tell you Manute bol(RIP) who played in the NBA never had the skills Mamadou has right now at 17.
He actually doesnt shoot that bad
THAT'S HIS FATHER! Really people? The kid in the video is a teenager! You can't tell the difference between a teenager and a middle-aged man? OMG. GET REAAAL.

@09:46 Get outta way and take that...
Yeah, i'm assuming Akeem(Hakeem) Olujawon....
high school player? really? wiki says he is 37...
Unless he shows some passion and heart he wont make it
u can tell he's not even motivated, playing average sized kids is just far too predictable for him to even enjoy it
if he's 18, i'm 3. Like most African athletes, his "official" age is questionable.
its hard to believe all his team mates are like 6ft tall wen his so big ahahaha they look like 12yrolds s;
looks like a tennis ball in his hands
man that ref through such a bad jump ball
ASC!
that nigga had to duck 00:19 lmao
Was he laughing?
Worst flop ever at 8:25
gotta love how the other team thought it would be cool if they all bought pink shoes instead they just look really gay
I wonder if he always plays with such a lack of effort.
It was like a rare skin disease. Stevens-Johnson syndrome
It looks like he's not even trying.
threw**

Dude all they have to do is cross half court!

you have a 7'5 guy on this team thats probably 2a.. and this score is this close. jokes.
he seems clumsy. he needs to go up against real competition

hes on a team full of short white guys who only shoot 3s. classic
@GoatPWN pointgaurd
well he will go to college.
He would never be able to play for a big time Division 1 team because he can't play man to man defense. All he does defensively is stand around in the paint. Whatever school signs this guy would have to change their entire identity as a team and I don't think this kid would be worth it.
