Memories. TO Down field. Rice on the other end. 1st eye look at tha Hearst. Ronnie Lot knocking helmets off. South paw young. This team was one of the greatest. Most fun to watch. Why they did not win super bowl that year, I'll never know. I grew up with Hearst. Good guy.
I played against him in High School and I am not surprised he was great in the pros. He was hard as hell to tackle then and that's if you wanted to risk hurting yourself trying to.
Ray Berry I know he had at least 2,600 yards probably in a season an about 28 touchdowns in a season. Only who ever our makers know his high school career
Wow I forgot all about Garrison Hearst, he was amazingly great at rushing and catching the ball deep down field. He was also hard to tackle cause he was slippery and had a great juke and spin move. The worts things that ever happened to him was that horse collar part of his neck broke, that horrific leg break on first play of possession in the 1999 Divisional playoff game against the Falcons, and then was out for two sessions recovering then made a comeback with vengeance. If Garrison Hearst just stood healthy he would of played longer in his pro career and a lot of respect to Frank Gore but probably would of been the 49ers all time leading rusher.
When you see Hearst run, he was somewhere between Emmitt and Faulk when he was healthy. And, he was faster than Emmitt. I remember in 98 what could have been when he got hurt in ATL on the first play--ending the possibility of a 2nd SB for Young. Even if they had gotten past ATL after that, how would they have beaten Minn and Den?
The 1997-98 49ers were so much more methodical and balanced on offense than the Greatest Show on Turf Rams, not to mention they still had Jerry Rice in addition to an up-and-coming T.O. as their WR duo.
This highlight reel is straight up nice 👍! I always thought garrison Hearst was one of the best r-backs in them years! As a 49ers fan, I say I told you so! Do Ken Norton Jr and Bryant Young next! My niners used to keep a dynasty with star-studed players to watch every week!
The 49ers All-timers team would be so special: You'd have Montana--Gore, Hearst, and Craig--An Alstott like HOF FB and Rathman who was a great blocker/receiver--Vernon Davis, Jones, and Kittle--Rice, TO, Dwight Clark, and speedsters Gene Washington, Taylor, and Solomon. They were loaded and I don't think they lose in the playoffs to anybody's all-time team.
My Favorite running back of all time!!! Could have possibly been a hofer if not for all those injuries...Two bad ones i knw of. I believe it was his knees...
Notice how many times TO was downfield making great blocks at the end...

Lott wasn't with the 9ers then
Ginga Yup-in fact he was retired by then!
Moss would never
TO was a great teammate contrary to popular belief
That OT run is classic
Hearst was the F'n Man,so underappreciated ,a 9er Legend as far as I'm concerned.

Jose Escobar you're right dude. Just based on pure talent and leaving stats out of it, Heast was better than Craig and Gore.
The slicer and dicer.
@@anthonyc2781 I don’t know about gore but he was up there with the niner running backs

How could u forget???
Absolute fuken beast
Was a huge fan of Garrison Hearst, under-rated RB.
And let's not forget the awesome offensive line. But Hearst ruled.
Hearst was one of the most determined running backs ever because he stayed getting severely injured and he always returned with Vengence......
He was sure fun to watch!
the highlights against the Colts beginning at 4:47 is the game from the Jim Mora playoffs rant for those who don't know
He was the perfect combo of strength and speed. Mostert hits the hole a lot like him. Go 9ers! 🙌🌁🌁
That's my cousin.
I think your cousin is super underrated, one my favorite players of all time, go 9ers 🙌🌁🌁
This was awesome
young owens rice hearst stokes streets
He was fun to watch--looked like he took one step to get to full sprint speed.
Another guy who was stolen from us. Before the Greatest Show on truf Rams. This team was stacked offensively.
jeebs9 Why because they had Owens and Hearst??? Hardly stacked but okay
LOL...MinkahFitzGoat is such a moron. Owens and Hearst were better than every player on the Rams combined.
Puck Utubesux yep and how about a rejuvenated Young and an aging but still super productive Rice lol

A young TO showing supreme effort blocking downfield so often is a pretty crazy thing to see

Craig #1 , Hearst and Gore ... tied for #2 best back in 49'er history !
Ricky Watters was a beast 2...
I miss these days. I miss espn being a good network
God damn I miss Tom n Boom!!!!
Yeah im sorry but you cant say theae ol school playrs couldnt play in these modern generations. They would still Dominate
My Favorite running back of all time!!! Could have possibly been a hofer if not for all those injuries...Two bad ones i knw of. I believe it was his knees...
Garrison " First I look at the Hearst "
YUP!!!! If Garrison doesn't break his ankle at Atlanta for the NFC Crown...
Great RB 🏈20
All the time
TO laid out a few guys in those highlights
Lincoln County ga own
ıf ıt wasnt for the long lastıng ınjurıes he could of been somethıng much more specıal thenwhat he became now..
Levent Öztürk agreed. He’d have at least another 6k yards.
That's my cousin!
well.... tell em i said he was one of my favorite 49ers running backs of all time..............
ay bro you should do a clinton portis video
Bro Why no highlights from his year with bengals
I really didn’t have many…. I needed to have some of the bengals games that season to make them highlights
@@JsnHighlights1316 there is very little tape of him I'm a bengals fan and honestly didnt know he played for them up until a few years ago.
Had that bad break of a leg and came back stronger! Niners let him to soon! #goldhearted!
That's my cousin
Nick chubb looks like him lol
I'm a die hard Niners fan but I hated when they switched to those uniforms
