it happened all of a sudden... I was driving on the freeway when I smelled burning wire. It was coming from my steering column. After this happened my speedometer stopped working, my gas gauge which was registering half full went to almost full and my temperature gauge, which always rides in the normal, went to the overheating area of the gauge. The voltage meter and the oil pressure gauge still work as they should. I sent my gauge cluster to a repair shop, hoping that that was the problem, but upon them doing a diagnostic check, they said it was functioning fine. I had them rebuild it nonetheless. My thought is that it must be related to the burned wire, but I can't find it.@@OldSchoolNoe

@@skene59design I would start with the basics of that circuit. Check fuse 4 "Gauges" located in the driver's foot area.
Then check grounds G105 and G107.
The 2000 shows fuel speedometer, and voltage indicator under this circuit, but not fuel gauge.

@@skene59design Do the turn signals function? do the lamps activate in the instrument cluster when activated?
Does the PRND321 function properly?

Do these have the weak and soft chrome that nicks and peels inside? First gen did

only on the ratchet side, that's if you pick at it, I've had no problems.
