    I totally agree with your assessment of the Kremer Gold Metallic paints. After I saw your video I purchased a set of these paints, after they arrived and I fell in love with them , I ordered a second set!!! I don't ever want to be without these. They are by far the best paints I have ever tried. So great!! I never would have run across these if it weren't for your introduction. Thank-You so much for that!!!❤️

    I have the Schmincke gold in tube, it is far nicer to use and behaves better than the pan version. I also use the Schmincke Aqua Bronzes (with Gum Arabic to make it more adhesive), they look like metal foil.

      Okay, I'm going to try the Gum Arabic on the Aqua Bronze...good idea! And the tubes, yes, that is certainly on my wish list....great to hear they work better than the pan!

    3:40 Who ever said you shouldn't swatch on black cardstock hasn't quiet grasped the concept of color swatches. You don't do swatches because they are so pretty, but to get an idea what you can and can't do with it. Especially with gold you might want to know if it is a transparent glimmer or a solid coverage. So learning whether gold works on black whether it is cardstock or ink on white paper certainly is of interest when you swatch colors for their properties. :)

    I really love using Gansai Tambi paints, but you're right, it isn't the same thing as your standard western watercolor, and trying to make it do the same thing is unfair to the paint and will just give you a headache. i'm definitely going to look into the Kremer Pigments gold, because it's perfect.

    I absolutely love the fine tech watercolors I got them last week and I just love to watch them on the paper. I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble.

      Yes, thank you. Yes, I'm sorry too. I didn't recognize the good experiences I've been reading about. But recently I purchased a set of glimmering paints by Finetec and they work very smoothly and dissolve well. I'll review those soon too!

    I have the kremer pale gold and the Schmincke shimmer gold. I prefer the sheerness of Schmincke over kremer’s more opaque coverage, because I mix my metallic watercolor with non metallic watercolors, and plus the Schmincke color range is way better for me.

    I'm so glad you found your metallic paints you love. Gina is awesome and I love her channel. Did the Schmincke powder stuff. It work out? I don't recall you testing that. I could be wrong though my memory is shit.

    This was great Mandy! Thank you! I have the kremer set #1 and I love it. I will have to save up to get these too. You did a great job showing the metallic quality- it can't be easy to capture on video. Did you use the paints from the gold retouching set to shade the collar area on your painting or did you use your other watercolors?

    • @MandyvanGoeije
      @MandyvanGoeije  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I haven't used those yet. I used a blue by Van Gogh for the shading and it worked super!

    Hi did you try the Schmincke pearl & gold watercolor?

    • @MandyvanGoeije
      @MandyvanGoeije  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I did. They were in pabs abd they were not as good. They didn't lift well, so I'd like to try them in tubes to see if they are better.

    Have you tried Holbein gold, copper and silver watercolor?

    • @MandyvanGoeije
      @MandyvanGoeije  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I haven't. Holbein is VERY hard to get here, if at all, so it hasn't crossed my path yet.

      I've love to try. Unfortunately I haven't found that brand of gouache yet. But I'm very curious!

    Hi Mandy, thank you for such a thorough review! I've been eyeing Kremer for about a year now but never dared take the plunge, of course now I will. I was going to buy directly from Kremer.de, why did you choose your artsupplier and not go directly through kremer? Thanks again, groetjes, Frouke

      I ordered through Petersartshop.de or petersart.de. They're really friendly and helpful and offered a set for a really great price. But I can highly recommend Kremer. In fact, I have a full set of Kremer on my wish list! They were impressive...

    Can't see the swatching very well at all because you're using such a small sheet of paper and it's curling up and the camera is at a weird angle above, not straight on
