      Hi one question,
      .
      Out of all the metallic watercolors you tested in this wonderful video, Did you have any difficulties with loading the brush with pigment? If so, which one of them?
      .
      .
      .
      I love your videos and your such an inspiration to me 😍❤

If you haven’t already, search TH-cam for ASMR and you’ll see. It could be a new channel for you to make! Please don’t take too much time from your art videos, though! 😊

      I think she used to much water in general. She’s literally soaking almost every colour in water (and then saying that they’re not vibrant enough).
      Smh a little.

    • @carolhoover-whippy2580
      @carolhoover-whippy2580 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I was confused when she used the Finetecs. She kept calling them the 'Pearl Color set'. I have Finetecs and every artist I know who has them calls them just Finetecs. I see the show notes has them listed correctly. But to say Pearl Color set from Amazon made me think that these were a knock off of Finetecs. I bought mine from Jetpens.com. They are sold elsewhere too. I love mine and my own comparisons at home I think the Finetecs have the best gold coverage of the other brands. Yes I agree that you need a lot less water too.

    Usually for gold, i just use acrylic gold, it's shinier and cheaper (in my country), plus you can make it as opaque as possible or add water to make it translucent which works really well when painting sunsets on water 😍

      Which gold ?

    • @aeriacross770
      @aeriacross770 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got the schminke gold gouache and the pentel gold poster color. I love the opacity and shine of the pentel. Schminke shines when you use it dry or with not a lot of water i guess cause otherwise the glitters kind of separates when you stroke? Still need to get ny technique down.
      But I got the Royal Talens copper(closest to rose gold i'm looking for) and it was so amazing to use. I guess the extra fine versus the fine on schminke makes the difference though both are artist grade
      The schminke comes in a bigger tube though so trade offs...

  • @Amyduckie

    I have the coliro finetec pans. I bought them singularly from Jetpens and found them to be great. The shine and opacity are most important to me, and they have the largest colour range. I also avoid gansai tambi paint as a rule, as it often contains animal based glues, which I’d rather not purchase or support the use of. But that’s just personal preference. I’m learning a hell of a lot in the years since I decided to start using watercolour and sometimes I feel like I will never learn it all.

    I'm not a professional artist, cause I'm 12. But in my opinion, i think she used a little more water than needed😅

    This video was very helpful! I would definitely consider these brands. Also I think a relaxing video with just art supplies sounds cool! Awesome video and thanks Mako!

    You used wayyyy too much water on the finetec 😂 They are extremely finely milled, pigment filled and easily soluble, and they are paints that you don’t need to “prepare” by dropping water on it and letting them “activate”.
    They are good to go immediately and you should just use a tiny bit of water directly in the brush, not a whole lake of water poured on top of the pan. If you use them correctly they are completely opaque and _extremely_ shiny and they’re my absolute favourites.
