Great to listen to this because as of today after 12 years I became a US citizen. God bless America!!! After being a refugee for almost 25 years I’m finally a legal citizen of one of if not the greatest country in world.

I came to the US as a refugee and took only 5 years to become naturalized citizen. I think the reason it took him 20 years to get citizenship is because he came here as a child and the fee to apply for citizenships before age 18 is almost double than adults. Most immigrants wait until their kids are 18 and older to apply. Can’t judge too quick what his situation was. I have lived in the U.S for 10 years and never experienced any discrimination because of my refugee background.

Bosnian refugee here it is hard being a refugee especially as a child watching movies I thought america was the greatest country ever when you come over here especially me coming from Germany i think now Germany was way better.Not that I hate america but it is complicated and even after 20 years it is hard to feel at home in this strange country. No hate just my opinion its not a bad place but often times it feels like a third world nation especially when it comes to social problems.Peace
