That Michael is SUCH a wonderful poet - it's like listening to beautiful, artistic word gymnastics. So enjoyable. You ought to ask him if you can get all his poems to you, printed with illustrations, and put on the market for sale in book form, each poem with a little background explanation of the gifts that came with it, written by you. That would be charming.
OMGEE! Those teapots, are truly fabulous, especially the large one. What special works of art they are! I love teapots, and have a small collection of them myself. Those beauties you've been gifted deserve "pride of place" at the chateau 👍 and I don't think I'd risk using them...except maybe the small one. 😊

A bit of fill-in about the Lomonsov Imperial Porcelain 12 cup teapot. Not sure if Stephanie or Philip remembered their encounter with the Lomonosov display in December at Le Bon Marché when Stephanie commented “…I’ve obviously fallen madly in love with the horse” while Philip was admiring the blue and white ‘Cobalt Net’ Lomonosov tea set. I thought it was beautiful too, so I did some research and was very impressed by the quality and designs of Lomonosov porcelain. Next thing I knew gifts were on their way to Lalande.
That’s where I’d seen it!!! Thank you so much Michael - and thank you for reminding me of the Bon Marche sighting - I knew I recognized it and it’s been driving me mad! ❤️❤️❤️

I don't know of I'd want such an old book to be recently engraved, but that is beautiful handwriting. I did say they probably had Pied peacocks, also if you do restore that one part of the chateau that had been burnt down I'd suggest having a library built.... maybe a two story ? And maybe make a book of poems

The two medieval cushions include what looks like a portrait of Richard III. There is a new film The Lost King (2022) starring Sally Hawkins based on the true story of Philippa Langley, the woman who persuaded archeologists to look for the remains of Richard III in a parking lot, which they found! Also she believed that Shakespeare's portrayal of Richard III was based on Tudor 'propaganda' used to justify Henry VII's claiming the throne. It's very exciting history with several books available about Richard III, the dig, and the DNA evidence that proved it was him! The facial reconstruction based on his skull looks amazingly like his medieval portraits!
What a lovely lot of gifts today, and may I remark on how pretty Stephanie and Nati looked. I particularly liked Nati in white with the colourful necklace. About the lovely sheer cloth (was it from Stephanie?) that you thought might be a curtain - I am wondering if it might be what, in New Zealand and Australia, they call a "shower". That's a light cloth to drape over picnic food or eatables on an outside table to keep the bugs from alighting. Oh my goodness - think how useful for GARDEN PARTIES! And finally, the large Russian teapot! Be still my heart! It is absolutely gorgeous and, being so large and bountiful, incredibly useful. It is definitely in its proper home now.
Just a note the Rubbermaid lids will snap onto the bottom of the bowl. I do one of each in my cabinet so I can just grab a bowl with the lid quickly. Also I don't heat in a microwave with them it will blister the plastic over time, transfer to a glass bowl to heat. And lastly only wash them on the top rack of the dishwasher.

The cushions were so beautiful! The newspaper jumper is very All Saints ..actually stephanie could wear a plastic bag and look amazing! .. I'm with you Stephanie i love seasonal weather! We have had rain and between 13 and 17 degrees in northern England this past week ..lots of thunderstorms which I love! ..the weather was to hot a couple of weeks ago it was so uncomfortable because the heat combined with high humidity made it feel so hot ..but so much cooler just now! ..😊..as you will know us northerners get cooler weather which is fine by me! ...❤
RE: the framed tapestry type lovelies - did you notice there is a left and right? They both share the same table and tablecloth. I hope you will allow us to see them in place in the room you choose for them. Sad Chateau Unwrapped is leaving. I have just finished a project for you Philip & Stephanie. It took me almost two years because things of life got thrown in the mix which took me from spending time on this. When my husband and I were young in our life together. I would read books aloud to him. later we would continue this practice as a family and I would read aloud to our daughter and my husband. We don't really do that any more. Sometimes I will find a unique article and I will do "story time" with him. Maybe you and Phillip can read the book aloud together, out in the English Garden perhaps. Sound a good story to fall into on a warm summers day.

SAFETY ALERT… If those are real tree cones… they are very dangerous to put in a cndle…they contain pitch, which is turpentine. We use them as fire starters! And yes, I have put these, ( juniper evergreen I think ) in my candles… only once! So lucky we were sitting 8n the room with them when they caught fire…and became a torch as they lit one another on fire.
As I am the candle maker, I can assure you those are not dangerous because they are young green cones, so they don't burn. Thanks for the advice, though, as I won't be using old dry cones on candles.

When thinking about getting a beagle keep in mind that they have a very booming bark. It can be quite hard on the ears.
They run off everytime, nose keeps them moving…
