Mesh Analysis Example Problem #1

- This tutorial runs through a full Mesh Analysis example problem with two voltage sources and two loops. I find it helpful to label on unknown branch currents before starting the problem, and then substituting the mesh currents in later. This reduces the chance of getting some terms with the wrong sign, but is not a necessary step, as most books will skip that part.
This video is part of a full free course on electric circuits. The course covers DC circuits, circuit laws, current & voltage sources, series & parallel resistors, nodal analysis, mesh analysis, and AC circuits.

since this comment section is empty I just want to say thank you very much. I find these videos very helpful. I know I speak for all the other students who may not have the time to show their appreciation when I say that these videos are very valuable and thank you for putting in the time to help us understand these subjects easier.
Totally agree
♥
EXCELLENT EXPLAINATION !!!!! super clear, thank you!!!
Very clear explanation
loved your explanation
thank youuu so muchhh. you are my life saver
Thank you so helpful
Thank you.
Thank you
will this method work using current flow as a reference direction not conventional current
Thank youuu
i gave up on these until i saw this video thank uuu
Glad I could help!! More mesh analysis and related videos over at engineer4free.com/circuits that you might find helpful =)
your voice is vey relaxing
uhh, thanks it really helped
Life made easy❤
Thanks😊😊😊
a lot better explanation than my professor haha thank you!!!
87k views and just 35 comments. that just shows how introverted most of us engineering students are
good shit bro
Thanks Sjchxh
How do I calculate the power in a 2V battery?
What if the only resistor is in the middle?
Super
What if the symbols changed at 2v source ? If - and +
14i2 where can you get it from?
at the part 2-I1+5I2=0. isnt it suppose to come out as I1=-2+5I2?
that is what I was thinking as well. Not sure what happened here.
He counted -4(-i2) together and made it positive 4i2, it should be -4i2 though also he moved the 2V to the other side but forgot to change the sign a simple mistake we all make from time to time. I imagine I got what you got then went to get i1=.15A, i2=.43A (rounded)
What happened to the 6 when you were solving for I2??
Went to the right side of the equation and became -6 (so 3 -6 = -3)
❤❤❤gangster
doesn't Ic = Ia + Ib ?
ia-ib pro not +
