    I've said before that no one would be able to adequately reproduce the Morricone version of this song, it's just too complex.
    Well the Danish National Symphony Orchestra proved me wrong, its not exact, but it's 99.9% and of the same quality as the original... Great job.

    • @Zagoreni02A
      @Zagoreni02A 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    • @aris1956
      @aris1956 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Zagoreni02A Although the word “song” here is not really appropriate. Here we are faced with a piece of music, with a fabulous soundtrack.
      Here the voices have the function of a musical instrument. And the Maestro Morricone was a real genius to put some types of unusual instruments, to create particular effects. He was truly unique !

    • @dxb8086
      @dxb8086 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      _"it's just too complex"_
      Utter nonsence. Music that is far more complex than this, has been written hunderts of years ago. A lot is happening there, but it is not complex, the structure is very simple in fact.

    • @johndelper1404
      @johndelper1404 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      dXb,
      My point is trying to reproducing it to sound like the original including vocalists, I've heard others who failed badly.
      How many musicians do you see... 60 plus?
      there are also a few uncommon instruments, there not just playing the song they're Matching the Sound.
      But matching the vocalists seems to be the toughest part and that's where others have failed, until this version.
      I will admit I'm not a musician, just a fan.

      I have seen and heard Ennio Morricone (it is available to watch on you tube) conduct this piece and I have to say that the original is thin and lacks quality and complexity compared to these people. Maybe it was down to the orchestra not being up to snuff.

    I enjoyed watching the moment the music touched your soul, when music does that to anyone they tend to react with emotion from the heart since the Heart and the Soul are interconnected, one cannot have one without the other. These 2 pieces of music are testament to one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, Ennio Morricone was someone who has inspired others to use music as a form of telling the story behind the story. Giving feelings to what the characters are seeing and doing throughout a movie. Voices being used as instruments is something that is still used today. Music can bring people together this will always cause me to shed a tear or two whenever I hear it.

    If you want to hear and see the harmonica listen to these people play the theme from Once Upon a Time in the West, the forth in the series. There were four films...For a Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly with Once Upon A Time in the West the forth and last

    Perfect example of the difference between "composing" and "arranging".
    Composing means you have to KNOW the different ranges of EACH instrument AND how they counter/enhance other instruments. How vocals without making actual words can both underline the music AND become more powerful BECAUSE of the music. And you have to be able to know this sort of thing note by note, bar by bar, section by section for a WHOLE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK!
    Arranging means you are simply taking sounds and mixing them together. Which while not as detailed, still requires an amazing ear to match sound 'sections' together into a consistent theme and melody, which is NOT easy to do.
    Think of it as getting a hand-written thank you note in the mail vs a 'form letter'. One is CLEARLY going to be far more emotionally connected because it is clearly far more PERSONAL to both you and the person who wrote it.
