I got to see them for the first time in April here in Indianapolis. It was an absolute fucking blast! I can't wait for them to come back!! And shout out to Glyph from the same show. They were awesome
I drove to San Antonio to see Alestorm and Gloryhammer last year. This year Alestorm has no Texas shows. In May I'm going to San Antonio for Kamelot and Hammerfall, and I'm going to Dallas for Battle Beast.
Seen them 3 times now! SO MUCH FUN!!! To get dressed up, and escape for a few hours... on the high seas! Lol. They don't take themselves so seriously, and THAT is why we live them!!!!
Just saw them for the second time and they played this amongst all the other bangers. Works magnificently live! My friend, who had never seen them or much listened to, commented afterwards "they are the most entertaining band in the world" :) The first time I saw them was when they toured with Gloryhammer (my fave band), Windrose and Rumahoy. The sheer bliss of enjoying them live in succession... And I never understand why people focus on the silliness when their music of top-notch. Might not be hard to play, but goddamn it works. Only Alestorm and Gloryhammer have had setlists that consist of only A-grade songs.
Why do they need a headliner? Back in the day when I was young we had shows like the The World Wide Texas Tour. When it was in Diego, it was ZZTop (of course) The Winter Brothers and BOC. All huge names. Put them in alphabetical order and that is how they appeared on stage if I remember right. Let's have a Pirate Fest!
The Rumpled published a video cooperation with Nanowar of Steel last week called "Bikini Pirates" and I think it is hilarious. :D We are pirates, we sail in underwear, it is too hot, we don't care! :D ROFL
