I have to say that I loved watching this video. You have such a relaxed, calm, low key presence that made bag making look less intimdating. Thank you for doing this video. I am excited to make this bag.
Thank you for your kind words! There are so many incredible bag and pattern makers out there who helped me learn, and I wanted to give back just a little by making this for folks! I just love making bags, and I can't wait to see how yours comes out! :D
you know what? I LIKE YOU!! I LOVE YOUR WAY OF THINKING! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! I KEEP THINKING ABOUT "THE BAG POLICE" IS GOING TO COME AND GET ME IF I DON'T PUT A LINING IN MY TOTE BAG! LOL!! (WHICH I ADMIT IS A PROCESS I AM TRYING TO LEARN. I HAVE TO LEARN IT BECAUSE I JUST TAUGHT MYSELF TO PUT IN A RECESSED ZIPPER SO YES IT NEEDS A LINING TO HIDE THE INSIDE POCKET) LOL! SO, I REALIZE BAG MAKING IS A PROCESS OF LEARNING NEW THINGS, NEW TECHNIQUES, AND EXPERIENCING NEW DISCOVERIES. I LOVE IT!
How you started is how i started too. i am also a bag designer and i been creating bags for 4 years now and i love it!! love your webbing on that bag! it's fabulous!
@@dottiemathews6853 you are so sweet! Thank you! I don’t think im gonna become a hardcore pattern maker, but maybe I’ll have another trick up my sleeve someday! We’ll see! Do you sell your patterns? Please share a link if you do! ❤️
Thank you Athena, I love your tote bag, super desin and fabrics and I really enjoyed watching how you put this together. Love your chirpy presentation and no stress approach. Look forward to more of your sewing vids. Ireland 💚
You’re so kind! There are some incredible folks who make videos so I probably won’t make a ton,but if I see somewhere I can contribute, I’ll do my best to put something out! ☺️
@@laurawilson4733 the biggest issue I had was the shape of my sewing machine and trying to fit and squish everything under the foot. The body of the machine above the sewing area gets in the way at times. I do believe I tried the zipper foot, and I don’t feel like I was any more successful. Reducing the amount of interfacing and not sewing completely around on the binding seem to be pretty good solutions for now. Maybe if I had an industrial things might be different? Lol
Hi!! Can you please share where you get your waterproof canvas, and also where you got your amazing little clear sewing table?! Your bag is awesome, thank you for sharing the details and process!!
@@astrokitten3686 thanks for the kind words! Some of the waterproof canvas I got at bodedoh, but they’re not going to stock that anymore. I bought some at fabric wholesale direct and have been happy with it! Lots of colors to pick from as well! The clear sewing table I got from sewsteady.com and love it!
Hi. Belinda here... can u tell me again how to make name tags. I am like u. Don't need lots of them. I have a silhouette cameo 3. So what feaux leather and heat settings and letter htv. Thank u so much. The big Lewis's Don't have time for me.
I use the Cricut faux leather and cut 1.25” squares. I cut my logo out using htv, and then my heat press is set at 330 and I just press it in for 4 1-2 second bursts. I then peel the plastic off the htv and hit it for 4 more 1 second bursts or until it looks like the htv looks good and secure! I do use a piece of cotton fabric or parchment paper over top so as to not melt the vinyl. Hope that helps! I could always do a short video showing my process if you think that would help ☺️

@@marionlyon7157 you’re welcome! 😊
“Who doesn’t like a bag that tap dances” you have literally just given me a reason to start adding purse feet
Haha! Purse feet are the best!
Same. Loved the tap dancing ❤

Thanks so much for the video! I can't wait to make a bunch of these!!! Yours is beautiful
Thank you! I can’t wait to see what you make 😁
You have no idea how refreshing your video is! I like sewing this way, too. Sewing totes is never perfect so why stress on it.
Thanks! It’s a lot less stressful and a lot more fun when you don’t strive for absolute perfection 😜
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you for this!
You’re welcome! Glad to help ☺️
That is a BEAUTIFUL bag! I'm super impressed! 🔥 Thank you💝🙏🏻💝
Thank YOU! I do hope you’ll make one and share it! ❤️
LOVE your video! Thanks so much for the free pattern and measurements! I am a visual person so this was perfect!
You’re welcome! I’m visual too - I buy patterns but then watch the videos rather than reading the actual pattern 🤣 Glad this helps ☺️
You are an amazing human. Great video. Suggestion....have you tryed using a zipper foot to put on your binding. They tend to be skinner and shorter.
