4K・ Tokyo walk from day to night - Hikarigaoka・4K HDR

    One of viewers suggested trying Hikarigaoka on north of Tokyo because it's quite wide.
    It was very awkward to film because there were too many children around. The area around Hikarigaoka station is mostly apartment buildings and huge Hikarigaoka park. A bit further you can find smaller apartment buildings and private houses. Probably nice place for families but not the best for videos, too much of nothing.
    I planned to visit Birds Park area but it was open till 4pm. In some places you still can see remains of the last snowfall. In the end I walked to Shimo-Akatsuka station which looked better but I got too tired to continue.

    Hikarigaoka used to be a US military housing area called Grant Heights. I lived there in 1971 and searched for it in the Tokyo area in the 1990s. This is why it is so open and well planned. When the Japanese took the area back, they were able to design an open park and living space.

    No, not boring at all👍! This twilight time 🏙 is my favourite, and to see roses 🌹🥀 in flower in January, with a little snow and X-mas lights later, is lovely. Just one of the many faces of Tokyo, as for me I wouldn't mind to live there 🚲 😊 !!

    So much green! And bicycles and joy! In Michigan we are locked in a frigid wasteland of white and brown. Thank you for the sounds of outdoors happiness.
    Edit: Does anyone know what the young person is doing at 10:20 on the left? It looks like a sports training device of some kind.

    40:49 Surprised to see so many 'tsumetai' options at this time of the year. From my knowledge (~ 2012) it was more hot options in winter and reverse during the summer.
    On related note, I miss vending machines of Japan. In this video, this is the first time I see a Vending machine.
    Found your channel and subbed right away. Best!

    Apparently this suburb was a brown-field development of an abandoned US military base in the 70's. The residential area was build on what was a barracks area and the large northern park was an airbase.

    • @randomnickify
      @randomnickify 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      "like riding bikes", should actually be "are forced to use bikes" :) Japan used to have massive traffic jams and to fix it this days you have to have permission to own a car. Because of that there are not much cars around. If you live in a more congested places bike and public transport are your only choice, imagine that everywhere else in the world :)
