I'm sorry about your Z3. I really sorry. I have almost the same model as yours.

Thanks mate, in the end it protected me and I walked away with minor injuries. I'm not really happy to see it go, but in the end I gave it 3 more years of life that it wouldn't have had otherwise.

Take the money and fix it. Its a lot to the insurance company because they would be paying for it, they don't care. But you, can fix it manage the repairs smartly and can probably fix it within the money they will give you. Besides, they don't count on the fact that certain cars appreciate in value, like this one is doing. Screw the insurance company, fix your car and enjoy it. Or sell it once fixed and collect twice, but don't junk it. I have seen worse cars get fixed.
Get some good estimates from different places, you will be surprised.

It’s already gone unfortunately. The cost of repairs and paint were well over 6k and insurance wouldn’t insure it after the salvage title, so it didn’t seem to be worth the money for repairs. Considering it was killed by someone who couldn’t even read a stop sign I would worry someone would merge into it or something and total it again

Do you know how easy that shit was to fix. I would have spent $60 at Pick n Pull and 1 day of work altogether, maybe half if I did not have to paint. You were never deemed to own a classic. Buy new and do all your services at the dealer. Oh, and have America's tire check gas station full service guy check your air and fluids.

Thanks for the view mate. The repairs were not out of my skill level nor were parts hard to come by. The issue came up when I tried to get it insured with a salvage title. I could have “insured” it but they wouldn’t have covered even the smallest of incidents. So I decided to cut my losses and let the car go. It was sad for me to see her leave my care, but that’s life. All good things must come to an end.
