    This guy was so ahead of his time. How do you think a prime Dominique would handle the modern NBA?
    NOTE: The first half of the script is from an older Dominique video, but the 2nd half is new, and he's now in the "How Good" series. Who would you like to see next?

      Mark Price and Sidney Moncrief next...
      Nique would rank top 50 for sure, but not top 25-30 to me. Probably somewhere closer to 40.

    • @lainiwakura4678
      @lainiwakura4678 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Listen to some of Price's stats:
      Career 15/3/7 guy. Doesn't sound too impressive off hand. 47% FG, 40% 3 pt. FG, 90% FT. And averages were hurt from his last 3 years outside of Cleveland.
      Shot 49% from 3 in 88. 44% the next season in 89. 42% in 95, with 5 attempts per game, which was a lot back then, cuz of the short 3 pt. line that year. But as you can see the distance made no difference to him. In his prime he shot between 42-49% from 3. Imagine him in the modern era with more emphasis on the shot...
      Shot 95% from the foul line in back to back seasons (92 & 93).
      Criminally underrated player whose skill set would translate great to today's game.

      Dominique in his prime (1983-1990) was as good as Jordan!! He actually was a better leaper than Jordan and beat Jordan in the 1987 slam dunk contest and was robbed in the 1988 contest by the judges and the hometown crowd in Chicago who all wanted Jordan to win!! Dominique's prime was very short period (1983-1990) so many forget how great he was !!

Isaiah snubbed from the dream team. Dominique, Bernard King and Sugar Ray Richardson kept off the Top 50 lost. Nike probably had Len Bias killed right after he signed with adidas. Thanks for this video. Wilkins was my absolute favorite player, still is. So underrated it's a crime, Yes he should be in the top 25 of all time. If he was on one of the " sexy" team's he would be ranked higher. Atlanta always gets the shaft.

    For some odd reason I absolutely love watching NBA stars/legends/hof whatever label playing past their prime especially close to 40.
    2001 Sonics
    2002 Magic
    2001 Raptors
    1999 Magic
    There is more but it's so fun to watch a player you know has so much talent and see how they play after aging idk why but I do.

    We had the chance to see human highlight film in Europe. He came to play for one year for my team Panathinaikos, winning a European championship in 96. Even though he was not like he was in the 80s and at the age of 35, he scored 32 in the semi-final and averaged more than 20 in the season.
    I still remember I was 10 and went with my brother to the first training of the team, where there were 10-12 thousands of crazy people. A few days before, when 'nique landed to the Athens airport more than 5 thousands of fans where there to welcome him

    Dominique, was amazing and still is, I grew up watching him, he was a much better player than a lot of of those top 50 players of all time, it’s a disgrace that he was not chosen when he’s easily a top 15 or a top 25 player of all time he is underappreciated and underrated, what a beast And what a electrifying player he was. Like the narrator said wrong team, wrong time and didn’t have the back up players that he needed he can do it all alone even though he was an amazing player if they ever do another top 50 best players you should definitely be on the list

  • @03Man11

    Nique’s athleticism was so ahead of the times in the 80’s. You throw a young Nique in today’s NBA soft defensive rules, and he’d still be as elite if not more. There were certain “athletic” players back then like Ron Harper, Clyde Drexler that I don’t think would seem as athletic in today’s NBA. Nique was more athletic and gifted than 98% of the modern players.

    • @andybassham2369
      @andybassham2369 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dominique and Karl Malone would score 35 a game with today's defensive rules. Hell, they shot like 10-12 ft's a night back then.

    This man was thunderous around the rim, great rebounder, wickedly athletic, had a lethal spin move that no one could defend, and was an underrated shooter. Dominique gets overlooked way too much, probably because his Hawks teams never made it past the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. Nique was a great player.
