Much respect. Woodrow, next door in the trailer park, comes over after dinner and we watch your channel on the big screen TV. He said if brains were leather, Elmo wouldn’t have enough to saddle a June Bug.

first sauger me and my brothers-in-law caught, we took it all over the county trying to find anyone that knew what it was...back in the 70's...my best tech for catching them is to fish at night with a black grub on a 1/16th head on a #6 hook...Jan and Feb below lock and damn on the Arkansas River...thanks for showing me a new way to catch these good eating fish...just watch out for the pin bones...

I can not wait for ice out and the river to open up so I can get the boat out and go fishing. I love fishing over on what we always call the “trash wall” when the waters moving a little for stripe bass. It’s spooky going up under the dam but I’ve done it fishing for big ole catfish. I don’t know how to catch fish anywhere other than around the dam really not that I’m as good as some people are that fish a lot around it.
Great video and thanks for the great tips.

Maybe cause Daddy ne or fished for them but I'd love to see more about them as I go up now an again. Thanks Richard for what you do!

Sauger,Northern Pike are of the Perch family and maybe Pickerel but not sure. Both are very good eating. The meat is very white like Walleye however. But like Northern Pike you need to know how to clean to get out the " Y " bones. Excellent fish. Glade to see there are a size limit. Maybe Richard will do a video on proper cleaning.

Guntersville dam use to have an abundance of paddlefish, they are on the come back now! Restrictions have allowed them to come back over the past few years. folks use to snag them and sell their eggs for caviar. Thats against the law now so they are finally coming back!
