- Time for something completely different 🙂.
In this week's video i found a very old none HDMI xbox 360 at the car boot sale. I wouldn't normally pick these up, but for £2 I couldn't resist ..I have lots of nostalgia for the 360 as I repaired a lot of these back in the day lol .Well, it is over 10 years since I last touched a 360 .So lets see how we go 🙂 ..

I also paid £2 for my Xenon at the Boot. One was ruined with the bolt mod, but the other was untouched in mint shape with the original XClamps. A true repair eventually would be to get it serviced for a GPU chip replacement. I have a Spare Jasper GPU on hand that i bought from Ali Express just in case my Blades Xenon fails. I could get a BGA Repair Service done to it at some point. Another point of failure are the big capacitors near the CPU. Sometimes replacing that can fix the Red Ring.
Holy cow. This takes me back to 2010 when I owned and JTAG'd my 360. Great video man.

Make sure it's on dash 7173 or below for this mod 😉 ... ive a starwars slim, I keep thinking of doing the RGH3 mod on .. but I'm not sure yet as it's a limited edition.. 🤔

You've got to remember the xenons was notorious for the red ring of death .. I dont expect it to last very long at all ... I do know what you mean . I did consider leaving it.. but then I wouldn't have done this video .. Thanks for watching

Nicee. I recently bought a 360 from a carboot... Its a xenon which was refurbished in 2009 with a elpis GPU. Its on the latest dashboard... Is there any mods I can do to it?
Yeah your able to flash the drive to play backups or check out RGH3.. ;)
I just bought a blades dash 2005 working xenon and im praying ill be able to reflow it and ill probably retrofit a noctua if it isnt too destructive
Cool .. Xenon's wasnt very reliable tho :( ... If your going to do a Jtag .. A jasper or slim and RGH3 is the way forward .. Thanks for watching 👍

I'm a little excited and surprised at the same time. I thought it was not possible to extract the nand from a xenon without hdmi of the first ones but I see that you have done it, can this be done with the raspberry pi pico? I would like to give a little life to my fat xenon that has already stopped reading discs and I do not have a replacement for the DVD unit, I recapped the 2200 capacitors because they were swollen to the point of exploding and I changed the thermal paste but I need to do this. I have an unused ace v3 chip that I could also use but I don't think it's necessary based on your video. enlighten me friend
Hi .. yes, they have always been able to dump the nands .. the issue is when it's been updated, 7371 dash and above the fuses are blown stopping it from having the original jtag hack ... check out RGH3 easy jtag no glitch chip needed 😉..

Hello good time. I have an xbox 360 xenon. With dashboard 2.0.14699.0. I wanted to know if there is any problem to use your training. Should I update the dashboard to the latest version or not? thank you.
This mod only works on dash upto 7371 .yours is on 14699 .. check out RGH3 mod .. hope that helps...
mine dashboard verison is 2.0.17489.0 can it be jtag by this nand chip or not. i have 1st generation xbox 360 called xenon without hdmi only support 480p at hd tv setting.
Hi .. jtag stops at dash 7371 .. but it can be RGH'd (Reset Glitch Hack) .. hope that helps 😉

Everything seems to go great until I write XeLL for me. I have a Xenon Xbox 360 but I’ve updated the dashboard to the latest over Xbox Live recently. (I wouldn’t think that affects anything but thought I’d also provide that)
Im able to read the nand files and they are the same. No problem. JRunner also creates and writes the XeLL and says it had no problems with JTAG and the latest dashboard kernel selected (same as is already on the Xbox).
After I write XeLL and boot up my Xbox. I get the 3 red LED error indicator around my power button. I checked the secondary error code and it is 0022.
Again, I can read the nand and write XeLL with no issue even after the 3 red ring lights.
I can even replace the nand files with my original backed up and it works again like nothing happened!
I’ve checked the resistance between neighboring solder points to make sure I don’t have a bridge or short.
Any ideas on what’s wrong? Why I can’t boot to XeLL?

Hi ... are you trying to do the jtag if I remember correctly it needs to be on a early dash version 7371 or below .. if you've updated to the latest dash your going to have to do the Rgh mod instead ..if it is low dash on jtag then dont turn it on with the power button after flashing xell turn it on with the eject for xell to boot . hope that helps :)
@@8BitRetroReFix Yeah, I believe you’re right. I checked the CB after reading the nand and it looks like I just missed the cutoff as I have a barely higher number than people say you need for JTAG. I’ve heard RGH isn’t stable long term for Xenon’s… BUT I did find that Octal is working on the ext_clk method for Xenon’s like mine and it is said to be stable! I’ve heard he’s just finalizing some things but that it does currently work!
If you did a video on this, it’d be awesome! As no one has yet. There’s only one forum that even has a guide on it on se7ensins.
@@markusaurelius4015 Hi . Xenons i just dont trust to last they was the worst for RROD. As for the RGH (reset glitch hack) not being stable . I still have a 2 slim RGH's i pull them out from time to time to update the dashes. they boot perfectly instantly. Its over 10 years since i did them ... ive never heard of them being unstable over time .. but hey ive been out of that loop for a longtime .Personally i would look for a Jasper board as they are the best of the old 360s and do not red ring .. Or even better the 1st version of the slim they have a higher volt rate shown on the back . If i remember right the 1st version was 10. something volts and the later ones were 9. something volts . 1st version also has a drive you can flash .Later ones you couldnt and had to buy a repo board i think there no long available tho .. altho i may still have one kicking about .. i used to look after 4 game shops for there repairs back then .. There wasnt much i couldnt do on the 360s.. but quite few years have past and alot has changed and ive forgotten .But for me RGH is the way forward on the later consoles and dashes ... Hi. Yes but jtag is for 7371 dash and below after that they change the cb. You will need to do the RGH mod.. xenon is not the best to do as they rrod very easily.. id look for a jasper or an early slim ... hope that helps ..
@@8BitRetroReFix not to mention not every xenon works with rgh I’ve only been able to rgh a xenon ONCE, once out of the numerous consoles I tried and that was with an acev3. And then the console died after booting xell :)
@@IMDYT420 I'm liking the RGH3 xenon can be hit n miss so its maybe better on rgh 1 or 2 .. ive still got a box of orginal cool runners glitch chips form when I was big into the 360 .. but its been quite some years since I did anything with them.. and I'm sure lots have changed .its sparking my interest again tho . I've been thing of doing a RGH3 on a limited edition Star Wars slim .. I believe its a Corona v1 :) .. I hope the mod nand keeps the R2D2 boot sounds ..
@@8BitRetroReFixrgh EXT_CLK is the best rgh you can do on xenon and zaphyr with fast boot not that hard to install would recommend it for anybody trying to do rgh on a xenon or zaphyr console
