Aida Boza . Thank you to both of you for taking your time for this episode. Kim it was great to hear that you worked as a dancer in a cruise ship! My son worked as a singer for two years for the Royal Caribbean after college. If you could share with us some of your favorite yarns.
Wonderful episode! I even took notes! A bobble tip for Jonna. To anchor your bobbles and close the hole it creates to the side, when working the row immediately after the bobble row, work to the bobble, insert left needle from back to front under strand between the needles, and knit the lifted band together with the bobble stitch. It makes your bobbles perk up and no holes. So here’s my ask you anything question … other than your love of knitting, what do you have in common with each other that make you such good friends. Thanks!
OMG! I absolutely love Purl back there playing with her toy. ❤ And Kim, haha! I must be very old fashioned. Totally designing a cable tee with stair step BO at the shoulders. :-) BUT, also using a 3 needle bind off! So, maybe that makes up for it? 😂😂😂
Love to you both ♥. Kim, I love that you have put your own spin on the baby blanket you are knitting and the bonnet as you described will be cutest. What a treasured gift that will be. Jonna, those hats are just gorgeous! The Sophie scarf and the matching Oslo hat, so yummy and that purple pom pom! Your SIL will love it. A few questions to consider for 'Ask Us Anything': What is your favorite slow Sunday dinner-you know the kind of dinner that you make when its cold outside and all you have to do is relax and knit on a Sunday? Also, what is your most treasured fiber related moment? Thanks for sharing another podcast and happy anniversary!
Happy Podiversary! Love these last 12 months of knitting with you both. I have a tip for the bobbles. When you knit the last stitch that brings the bobble together, pick up the loop of the stitch below the bobble from behind, and knit that with the last stitch. It pushes the bobble forward, makes it super perky & it stays above the fabric. I learnt that trick when knitting the Magnolia Bloom.
Thank you! I watched the Amy Palko video and I don't think her technique will work for me. I can't find any loose stitches, so I will definitely try your technique. Thank you 💕
Hello ladies! It’s been fun hearing all about your Rheinbeck trip and whatever other yarn festivals you attend. Love hearing all the stories you share about the designers, dyers, other podcasters, etc. And if I should ever travel to your neck of the woods, I definitely would love shopping at your local yarn shops! But today if you don’t mind, I would love to hear more about the story, the choices and process you went through in deciding your hair colors! I’m 65 years old and so ready for a change from basic dark brown hair color. Help! I’ve thought about stripping all the color out and allowing my natural gray to make its debut but then I think how fun it would be to add bright color. I would love to hear your opinions. Thank you! Sandy/StitchedbyMimi
I so enjoy your company while I'm knitting. I'm hoping that you will publish a list of the numbers for the sequence of Kim's sweater projects. I have my own list of 'Virtual WIPS' - yarn with patterns not yet cast on - and may just steal your order to make the decision process of what to knit next easier for me. My vote was for the Coffee Bean Cardigan. It's taking a lot of self-discipline for me not to go out and buy the yarn for that one and add it to my Virtual WIPS too! How nice that you got to meet Pat at Rhinebeck. She's in my knitting group. We meet every Tuesday evening at a brewery in Frederick, MD. It was so cool to see her picture in your Rhinebeck podcast!
I just love, love that opening music you have today. I know I've said it before but, it is WONDERUL. Love you both and wonder what do you NOT enjoy knitting? your videos just make my day. love, hugs, prayers
Kim does not like knitting socks...maybe bc she doesn't wear them! Jonna doesn't like knitting anything out of obligation or that isn't bringing her joy!
Thank you again, for including us in your knitting group. Was lovely to catch up on everything you both doing. I love that you both have a very different approach to things and how you explain yourselves. Who do you think has the biggest 'stash' of yarn? And which of you owns the most books on knitting?
What a fun podcast. I just finished a cowl and went into my yarn room and I have a baby blanket to finished. Going to get it done! Thanks for your inspiration.
My pretty project bag collection is starting to catch up to my yarn collection. If I am a “Yarn Curator” am I a Bag Lady as well? What if I have the yarn IN the bags… I’m slowly working thru all my WIPS, kits, and “wanna-makes”… all the while laughing with you two! Thanks for brightening my day… I needed cheering up!
Lovely and fun as always. Provisional cast ons - I use Judys magic cast on (I think that's it) and leave the second side on a cable needle ready for later, then put in needle tips and if needed remount stitches (or ktbl) and ta-da no removal of yarn or stressing out. Thanks for the companionship and entertainment as I knit. Oh Jonna, I have cut out a dress inspired by your green one - just need to get sewing now! 🤩
Great tip! I should have thought of that. Now I want to start over!! I have to say, it is bothering me even though no one will see it. I hope you post your dress on IG so we can see it!! ❤️
Thanks ladies for another lovely podcast & for keeping me company while I make dinner. I do enjoy listening to you both chattering away about all things yarn & knitting. Some lovely ideas for knits. Kim again you were sat directly in front of some yarn that matched your hair colour perfectly 😂 it's almost like you colour match before you start the podcast. Jonna I'm in awe of how productive you are. So many FOs. Look forward to the next episode & thank you for the inspiration. Take care. X
I’m the only knitter in my family and I don’t have any close friends that knit, but I never feel lonely as a knitter and is in part to people like you and your podcast. My question is, what are all the aspects of knitting that bring you joy? Love watching your podcast so much.
Love your podcasts, congratulations on your anniversary! Where do you see your channel going on the future? Also, I really enjoy the realness of the shop and even when you are at Jonnas house.
Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I’ve loved watching you over the last nine months since I found you. My question is how did you guys start to knit together? Also I’m making a stripy baby blanket and thank goodness for the weave in Stephen!
I was told when I started knitting that the yarn barf in the cake happens based on what end you start winding along with the direction your wonder turned. Those 2 things combined can cause the additional twist inside the cake. I imagine the way you knit could also cause this. I do try to look at the direction of my yarn twist and wind the opposite direction when I think of it. I don’t always remember but I do think there’s a difference.
You two are such a joy! Some questions, Please share more about how you two met, would love to see Kim singing, talk to us about your favorite holiday recipes, menus, hosting everyone and grandkids without losing your mind, and last keep up the great job.
I always love seeing your beautiful finished projects. Have either of you ever knit something that you absolutely detested when it was finished? A “What was I thinking?” project.
Kim and Jonna, your podcasts always make me smile! Here's my question: if you could design your perfect sweater, what elements would it have? e.g. colorwork, raglan, drop shoulder, fitted sleeves?
Congrats on your one year anniversary and for keeping me company while I listen and knit. Do you knit a pattern just once or do you have favorites that you'll knit several versions making changes to vary it?
That’s nice that when you buy the knitting book, Sark, you get a code to download the patterns to Ravelry. That’s very convenient. Love watching you both so much. 😊 Question: Do either of you crochet?
Happy Anniversary! My question is do you use a crochet hook to do a provisional cast on? When I learned this technique it made it so easy and no issues. I am going to the New England Fiber Fest. Hope to see you there.
Happy anniversary. Thanks for all the great episodes. You two are awesome and lovely. Have you knit with a large variety of fibers (cotton, alpaca, hemp, silk etc) & which ones have you enjoyed most and why?
Love your knitting podcast❤You are always so happy when talking about your hobby and your laughter is just contagious. Could you explain how to add short rows to a pattern that doesn’t have short rows for the neck shaping? I would love to get some advice on that. 😊 Congratulations on your one year anniversary 🎉
Hi Safiya, thank you for your question. This is the blog post I read about adding short rows to a garment that doesn't have them. I hope this helps. www.barrettwoolco.com/blogs/news/adding-short-rows-to-your-sweater
Hi Kim, Hi Jonna: Your show is such a pleasure to watch. My question for you both is how do you pick colors for your knitting projects? Is there a particular methodology for picking your colors? This is an area where I struggle the most in my knitting. When I see colors put together by others I say yes that works well together but when it’s my time to choose yarn colors I tend to get stuck. Thanks from your knitting friend, Tracy
Always looking forward to another episode ❤ who would most likely give up on a new technique or pattern that seems difficult- on a design you really want to knit.?
Hi, congratulations on all of your achievements! My question: have you ever re-used yarn from a previous project for another project or would you consider doing that?
Thanks for another fun episode. I love to see all of the patterns you knit or plan to knit. Question: Which of you is more likely to frog a completed garment you never wear in order to repurpose the yarn?
I love watching you two chat together! So many questions to ask: How did y’all learn to knit (who taught you)? What are your backgrounds (y’all touched on this today)? [I’m a retired Family and Consumer Science Teacher- AKA Home Economics Teacher and my granny taught me crochet but I recently started knitting]. Can y’all show us some of your fair isle sweaters (my next big project) and which ones are easiest? Can you show us a tour around the shop - Pick Up Every Stitch ( I’m in Southeast Georgia and will never get to go there)?
@@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna That’s awesome! I just watched this episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I wish there was a shop like that near me! Do you suppose they want a satellite store in Southeast Georgia? 😁🤣
Hope I added a question. But I’ll ask another sorry. Do you have a favorite construction of shoulders? Piece together making each piece separate, bottom uo top down? A basic sew together with mattress stitch, contiguous, drop shoulder, raglan.
Love your podcast!!! This question is for both of you: When knitting a large project with multi skeins do you wind all the yarn before starting the project or just what you need as you need it?
Congrats on your one-year anniversary! We meet at Rhinebeck, my husband lived in Mt Kisco as a young man then we lived in Mohegan Lake before moving to Kent Island Maryland. He had just mentioned your podcast which he remembered because of the Mt Kisco connect and you both were walking by us at the same time! Synchronicity at its best! My question is how do you enjoy being Rock Stars in the knitting world :)
Thank you - another fun episode. My question: Do you have favourite colours you naturally gravitate towards? Or do you switch it up depending on your mood or the type of yarn?
Wow! It’s such a process! Different but complementary. I’m sorta jump in and do and then I have feedback. It’s hard for me to come up with ideas before.
Love this and so enjoyed seeing you at Wool & Folk/Rhinebeck------ask what is your preferred needle material and do you change your needles based on the fiber you're using?
Great episode, I really look forward to every episode you are so full of 'joie de vivre'. My questions are; when do you typically sit down during the day and knit? Does it frustrate you if you don't get your daily dose of knitting?
Can you give some tips on how to keep tension right when working with several colors on knits? I recently knit colorwork socks and it was hard to keep floats loose enough to go over your heel, but not so much that floats sag on the inside. Thanks! I look forward to all your podcasts!
Colorwork socks are VERY tricky! Have you tried going up a needle size? Trying a different technique, like magic loop, DPNs, small circs for instance? Summer Lee has lots of colorwork sock patterns and this tutorial. Perhaps it will help! th-cam.com/video/efb2e_s3Vs8/w-d-xo.html
Im sitting here watching this in the Pacific Northwest knitting the slippers out of the fritidsgarn after hearing you and the Knitting Posse share. Ordered from Pick Up Every Stitch. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hello ladies! I love knitting but I also watercolor. Is there any other hobby type things that you haven’t tried that you would like to try? For instance, I’ve been thinking of trying hand embroidery and making some cute project bags for myself. Congratulations on your podiversary!🎉
I love the music for your episodes. Can I ask how you decided on this song? It is perfect! Thanks for another beautiful episode. Feels like I am knitting with friends 💜 Kim I love your sweater and the way the yarn is making stripes on the sleeves. I really love the entire design. I truly love all the projects you ladies make. 🥰
Thanks for another fun episode and congrats on a great first year. You two are so enjoyable to watch. My question is about books. What books do you have that you would recommend to others, both for helpfulness and usefulness, or do you find you turn to TH-cam for help with knitting questions rather than a book if you can't run to Pick Up Every Stitch?
I am knitting the sweater “Light” and just to warn you. It is knit in pieces with the stair step shoulders 😗 It has been a long time since I have knit that construction but I am going with it.
Wow that heat went by so quick! Love watching you two beautiful friends! Wish I had a knitting friend…so my question is how long have you known each other and how did you meet?
Hi loved your video could you tell me what the blue sweater was in the background? I do have a knitting question could you explain the different plys of yarn and what projects you would knit with them 🤔
Thank you again for another wonderful podcast. QUESTION…for you both…what pattern have you been avoiding because you are worried/intimidated by the design or stitch combination(s)?
Congratulations with the first year of your fabulous channel! Question: what fiber festival in which country is high one your wish list and who would you like to take with you (besides each other)?
Been making hats lately, just for the book knitting the national parks it has 63 hat patterns and tells a little about the national park, nice coffee table book
Hi Kim & Jonna I have been watching this podcast & I’m really enjoying all of your podcasts from the beginning. Jonna I just bought yarn to do a pretty scarf for a friend. When I saw the beautiful black one you made I thought that would be perfect!! If you wouldn’t mind can you tell me how many stitches you casted on & how long you knitted it? If possible would you mind also explaining how I could make it into a poncho just for an option. Thank you I would greatly appreciate it❤
Yay! I’ve got to knit myself a sweater 🎼is back. Thank you for a great year. I really enjoy your chatty podcast. Love the knitting but the chats keep it real. I’d love to see any garments that you may have knit for the men in your lives?
Thank you so much for your podcast! I would love to know how you store your knitwear. I have had some issues with little bugs and I would like some ideas!
I am so happy whenever I see new episodes posted by you ladies. I enjoy your dynamics and relevant content so much. This question is for Jonna. My three grown kids were all swimmers up and into college so I spent many hours cheering for them despite them never hearing me😂😂 You mentioned you were a swimmer and I would love to know what your favorite stroke was. Thank you again for your podcasts.
Hi Kim & Jonna… Wow Happy Anniversary, it’s been only a year, felt like you both have been podcasting for ages coz it’s so smooth running and you both blends so well. Really. Congrats.
Congrats on your anniversary! When did you start knitting? (I know you've told the story before but it's always a nice story to tell again) What was your first knitting project? Do you still have it?
I enjoyed this happy podcast. Kim's pooling sleeve reminds me of my feral cat Patrick. His background color is brown and he has black stripes. In deciding on a name, thinking of stripes, General Patton came to mind. The idea of Patton turned into Patrick. I am going to look closer at how his "sleeve" striping pools. 😺
I absolutely love your podcast !! My question for both of you is how much time do you each generally spend knitting each day and do you intend to knit during a certain time each day ? Thanks so much 😊
How long have you known each other and how did you meet? You are so very different and yet such great friends. 💕 I get sweater and project envy every episode. Enjoy your extended summer, in the interior of BC Canada, we got about two days of fall and boom, huge snowstorm and my driveway turned into a moonscape last night. So much shoveling ahead….
Happy Anniversary! I’m a new knitter, so, have you ever made a mistake like on a sleeve and copied the error onto the other sleeve like it belongs? Knitting my first cardigan - and I’ve ripped (frogged) out so many times because at the end of the row I’m missing stitches. Because it’s a pattern I can see the error easily. But I dislike ripping out- this is a term my grandma would say. Also- do you have memories of holding the yarn while your mom or grandma wound? I do- lovely memories❤
Hi Pam! So fun! Vistafjord: January-December 1985, Sagafjord: January 1986 - June 1986, September (?) 1986 - January/February 1987. I think that’s right. Wouldn’t it be crazy if we were on a cruise at the same time? :) Kim
Hi from Betti in Barnegat. Love your channel and enjoyed meeting you at Wool and Folk. Your recap of W&F and Rhinebeck was terrific. Question: You probably answered this several times during the last year (Happy Anniversary, BTW), but I missed it -- how did you meet and decide to do a podcast? Thanks!
In North Idaho we are in the midst of our first real snow for the season. Expecting rain on top of several inches of snow by day’s end for a slushy mess. Glad I can stay home and knit while enjoying your podcast.
Happy Podiversary from Australia 🎉. I remember watching your very first podcast. Has it been a year already.? My question is what wooden interchangeable needles would you recommend?

Love the background noises. Not to worry about squeeky toys, printers, etc. The shop makes such a beautiful background.
Thank you ❤️
I appreciate both of you highlighting patterns and designers that aren’t so well-known. Let’s spread the 💗 around!
Thank you for all your hard work it really shows. Who is your favorite person to knit for, can be yourself?

I need to knit the Richmond Hill pullover, it looks like fun! I want to spend the whole winter knitting ,I’ll call it my knit hibernation.
Yes I remember those shoulder seams! steps, steps. Now I like knitting in the round, top down, no seams!! Congrats , both of you are amazing. Hugs ann
Kim the Darling Bonnet/Hat is amazing and fits beautifully. Thanks for another great episode. Love spending time with you.
Hi from The Netherlands! Love watching your video’s, while knitting. Such great works and wool you’re showing. Hugs for Purl 😀

Jonna could knit in all shades of blue and neutrals and be perfectly happy! Kim loves color!!
Love the hats. I also do not like a bouncy Pom Pom, so I cut out a circle from cardboard and punch 2 holes for the ribbon. Works really well
Perfect!
Wow! It’s such a process! Different but complementary. I’m sorta jump in and do and then I have feedback. It’s hard for me to come up with ideas before.

Colorwork socks are VERY tricky! Have you tried going up a needle size? Trying a different technique, like magic loop, DPNs, small circs for instance? Summer Lee has lots of colorwork sock patterns and this tutorial. Perhaps it will help!

Brilliant as always x
Love to knit with you two! Do you have a a favorite pattern for that one special skein of hand spun, hand dyed yarn?
Im sitting here watching this in the Pacific Northwest knitting the slippers out of the fritidsgarn after hearing you and the Knitting Posse share. Ordered from Pick Up Every Stitch. Thanks for the inspiration!
What are you daily routines? How do you find the time to knit so much? Do you set aside time every day?
Love you both and your show!
Congratulations on your first anniversary 👏 ❤️. Enjoy hearing snippets about your life.
I just love listening to you ladies, you seem to have such a great friendship! Do you ever do anything together that is not knitting related?
Happy Anniversary! You produce such a fun podcast-thank you! Question: who are the designers whose patterns you most enjoy knitting?
Thank you! Kim chose the song! I think we talk about the song choice in our Hats, hats, hats video.
You 2 are wonderful. Thank you for sharing your knitting adventures. My question is-Ehat we’re your favorite childhood games/activities?
Thank you!
Jonna: digging in the dirt, building pillow forts, swimming, tennis, soccer, reading, sewing, Memory Card Matching Game!
Kim: pogo stick, stilts, unicycle, reading and homework!
Kim, you’ve mentioned singing in a choir. Are there any videos?
I actually included some videos in my Vlogmas episodes so if you haven't watched them yet, you definitely should. :) Kim
Love the merch! I’ll be ordering a shirt!
Hello from the Maritimes Congratulations on your one year anniversary! Have either of you thought about dyeing your own yarn?
Happy Anniversary. Love sitting and knitting while watching your podcast. What is your favourite bind off?
Congratulations with the first year of your fabulous channel! Question: what fiber festival in which country is high one your wish list and who would you like to take with you (besides each other)?
Been making hats lately, just for the book knitting the national parks it has 63 hat patterns and tells a little about the national park, nice coffee table book
Interesting! Jonna bought her Dad a national parks coloring book!
Thank you I would greatly appreciate it❤
I’m so sorry for my delayed response! Would you mind emailing me? That way I can send more info and it won’t slip through the cracks. Thank you!
Great to watch this video. It really does feel as if you are here in the room. How do you find time in a busy day for knitting? 🇬🇧
This is a good question!! 😂
First time here visiting. Fun to knit and listen. How did you two meet?
Hi Kim & Jonna…
Wow Happy Anniversary, it’s been only a year, felt like you both have been podcasting for ages coz it’s so smooth running and you both blends so well. Really.
Congrats.
Thank you!! It's all Kim's editing skills ❤️
I just knit two bonnets for my work husbands first grand baby. I knit Violet and Basic Bonnet to go with the Norwegian fir baby sweater.
Have you tried the Baby Bear bonnet? We've both made several. So cute!
Awe, love this!! Thank you for sharing.
I absolutely love your podcast !! My question for both of you is how much time do you each generally spend knitting each day and do you intend to knit during a certain time each day ? Thanks so much 😊
Fun! Thank you. 💕
Here in coastal NC, I have my AC running. I NEED sweater weather.
Oh, goodness. Sounds like you are in for a long winter!! (lots of knitting??)
Hi ladies...I love your personal chatter..
Happy 1 yr anniversary! I always look forward to seeing you two🍁
Happy Anniversary!
Yes, I think we've both "made a mistake" intentionally. This said, I think Kim is less likely to do it and would probably frog back and fix!
Kim, how fun - we took several cruises on the Vistafjord. When we’re you working there?
Hi Pam!
So fun! Vistafjord: January-December 1985, Sagafjord: January 1986 - June 1986, September (?) 1986 - January/February 1987.
I think that’s right. Wouldn’t it be crazy if we were on a cruise at the same time? :) Kim
Happy Anniversary, how did you learn to knit/crochet?
Hi from Betti in Barnegat. Love your channel and enjoyed meeting you at Wool and Folk. Your recap of W&F and Rhinebeck was terrific. Question: You probably answered this several times during the last year (Happy Anniversary, BTW), but I missed it -- how did you meet and decide to do a podcast? Thanks!
I appreciate how much work you put into your podcasts. My question is do you have a favorite needle brand you like best?
Congratulations on your anniversary. How do you decide what to knit next?
Kim has a queue of projects paired with yarn/patterns. Jonna goes wherever the inspiration is!!
In North Idaho we are in the midst of our first real snow for the season. Expecting rain on top of several inches of snow by day’s end for a slushy mess. Glad I can stay home and knit while enjoying your podcast.
Yay, snow! (boo, rain) Can't wait for ours....stay warm.
Happy Podiversary from Australia 🎉. I remember watching your very first podcast. Has it been a year already.? My question is what wooden interchangeable needles would you recommend?
Hi ladies, I really enjoy your podcasts. I would love to know how many hours you manage to knit each day. Thanks xx
Jonna = not enough!
Kim = LOTS!
