By the way, I too have both the bamboo and stainless steel set and the cords are interchangeable for both sets. I use the red cable (because it’s so wonderfully sturdy) on the bamboo tips all the time. If I happen to be using the metal tips for socks and using magic loop then I use the plastic cables (because of their flexibility) on the metal tips.

I m a huge Chiagoo red lace fans. I have lots of their circular needles. One thing that has not been mentioned but should be is their joins. They consistently have the best joins of any knitting needle I have ever tried. Didn't think I needed a bamboo set, but if Chaigoo makes them, I need to reconsider.

I have the small set of steel needles but wish I had bought the bamboo now. I bought some bamboo individual needles and they are lovely to use. I live in the Manawatu, NZ and have been watching your podcasts for a while now. We are currently in lockdown to try and stop the spread of the Coronavirus so have been watching a lot of knitting related podcasts.

I love these needles, and I’m a beginner knitter. I started off with some cheap needles and my results were not as good. These glide with ease and you would think that for a new knitter that would be the kiss of death, but my first projects were a lot easier.....They are worth the money!!!

I made a beautiful red cardigan..rayon and silk ... and was really happy to have bamboo needles as it was really slippery! I do love the Chiagoo needles that I have, not full sets, just sizes as I needed. I love them although the really sharp points of 2.25 mm are really sharp. HUgs

7mm is missing. They're a good set, and I also have all the other ones that you referred to in the video. They're called Spin as the cord spins very easily and so you can maneuver your knitting quite easily. Excellent needles. My husband bought me the Hiya Hiya interchangeable set, with both small and large together. Gives me another set to work with and as I'm at home.... Chiaogoo is the best though :)

I'm wondering after 3 years from making this video if the cables on any of the Chiagoo sets have developed kinks. A friend did a LOT of magic loop, doing hats and arms of sweaters, and her thinner cords now all have kinks in them. I am hoping it was just a fluke of her set.

Great needles!! I have been totally converted and love knitting with them. I own the metal and love the slightly grippy finish and the lovely points on them! I’ve been looking for a review of the bamboo interchangeable needles. Thank you! I have arthritis and wood needles are often easier for me as they control the yarn for me.

I am a senior and a newbie to knitting, learning how to knit through youtube videos. After watching your video, I wondered what it would be like to begin with needles like the Chiaogoo needles rather than the crappy ones I am using. Maybe I am dreaming but would love to try. I am thinking of purchasing the bamboo needles as I have arthritic hands. Wish me luck. :) Thank you for your video.

Thank you for your review. I assumed that the attachment from bamboo to the metal screws are smooth. There is no snagging yarn. Do you perhaps know which one is more comfortable, 4 inches or 5 inches needles? Many thanks and happy 15 years of your company anniversary.

Depends on what kind of shape your hands are in. I have arthritis, and have the 4" needles, and will be buying the 5" as soon as I can get my yarn hoarding addiction under control. LOL The 4" ones are a little difficult for me to grip, especially at the end of a row.

I too, have the chiagoo bamboo interchangeable needles for many years, what annoys me is,that my stitches don’t move easily from the cord to the needle, I have to pull each stitch unto the needle - the joints are well closed with the extra tool though. That is why I don’t use them anymore, does anyone have the same experience or have any tips?

I have been using the Chiagoo metal needles and love them. Last fall, i ordered a few of the spins and LOVE them! I believe I saw that they have ‘connectors’ in case you have a cord, meant for the larger size, but want to use a smaller needle. That would make sense and extend the versatility of the set. The Bamboo definitely seems lighter.

I have tried almost every brand of knitting needles - I have an old injury to my hand causing difficulty with grip plus osteoarthritis and am now developing dupuytren's contractures of my right hand. The ChiaoGoo metal Twist 4" needles have been amazing!! I cannot recommend them enough! I agree with everything you have to say about them, and more. I have to go back to my old bamboo needles (with their stiff, kinky cords)when I knit lace or silky fibers.

The only interchangeable needles I used so far are the Knit Pick wooden ones and they are OK (I have nothing to compare them with!). I heard so many good things about the Chiaogoo interchangeable needles, that I'm very curious. I'm not a big fan of metal needles, and I didn't know they also have a set of bamboo ones... Very, very interesting! Thanks for sharing :) (And BTW: I don't think anyone would ever be tired of you unboxing fiber craft goodies!)

I have been given a plethora of old needles both straight and circular over the years since my grandma taught me to knit but the circulars were all way too stiff for comfort. I bought a chiagoo fixed circular set, my first good quality set of needles and fell in love with using circulars for straight knitting. I never have to worry about my needles being cumbersome or misplacing one, can't wait to upgrade to interchangeable and move my old stuff along to new owners.
What is your opinion on chiagoo's interchangeable crochet hooks? I have never used bamboo hooks but am interested in Tuscan and mixing my knitting and crochet
Update: Got the full interchangeable set (standard size not minis) and spent all of COVID summer knitting lol. I love them and can’t wait till I have the funds for the Tunisian set. If I ever start knitting slippy stuff I might have to consider the bamboo set too 😂, at the very least an individual set or two

And l was so late! I love chiaogoo! I got all l can get of sets made byesteel, the red lace sets: complete, and the shorties red and blue, too! Don't have enough money for bamboo, too, but l got 7 mm and 3.0mm bamboo. It's so great to write with them, too, if you got the right wool whidheis very slippery. If not it shoots youedown a bit. I knit since over 44 years and my pupils are thrilled about the CG - needles, too! The bamboo are the less blunt needles of this material l ever knit with. I use the red cables with bamboo, too, cause that is better than with the spin cables l bought to give them a try. But although they spin l had rests at the point where the yarn needs the little balls at the ends of the cables, needed to turn around. I love to knit with the red lace cables, done out of winded steel, nylon coted, so much more than the spin cables! And they're not to bend or damage as the spin cables can be. One of them has got an edge about 10 cm before a joint. That's a mess! Tog.with the rest of tiny yarn l don't like it any more, no! I love the red lage cables and l absolutely can use them with the bamboo-needles! So, yes, l'm thrilled by these, only these, bamboo - NEEDLES! Yeah! Be blessed!

At the end of last year I ordered some chiaogoo needles after hearing another Podcaster rave about them. I actually couldn’t find them anywhere here in Australia so ordered them from the UK. when they arrived I was so upset with myself, I had wanted the steel tip set but had accidentally ordered the bamboo set. I was going to return them but it was near Christmas and all the way back to the UK , anyway long story short, I kept them . Oh my gosh am I glad I did! The difference they make in knitting slippery mohair yarns is amazing, I 100% agrees with you. Also the lovely cable enables me to knit socks and sleeves without getting a ladder for the first time in my long knitting career!
Now I just have to be a good girl all year and hopefully Santa will bring me the steel set!

The bamboo are just something special and feel wonderful when knitting socks.

Wow! TY for featuring these, they are my new favorite circular needles. I'm so excited that they have the super shorts, as I recently started the Spiral Cot blanket and was incredibly fiddly starting from the center. I have wanted to knit hats from the top down and confident that I can now do that using the magic circle and the shorties!! Yay ! Really excited about the super thin needle set as I have been keeping an iCord going- mostly because I find it relaxing- and looking forward to making some very very fine iCord so I ll have something unique to crochet with. Great Video !!

Love my signatures but haven't tried any others, I lock mine with the key and a rubber grip.

I've really liked my bamboo Tulip interchangeable needles but when I went to lace and sock knitting, I decided to try the small set of Chiagoo interchangeables and really like the sharp tips and the "swivel" cables. They are my very favorites.

I love my Bamboo set, easy to use, warm on my hand and super light. They hold strong on all my projects. The Bamboo needles set I have are 4 inches long, great for small hands. I may get 5 inches next as my hand get cramps here and there.

I love my Chiao Goo needles! I have the full set of regular needles, the red mini set and the blue mini set. I haven’t tried the Bamboo ones. I bought my first set on the recommendation of the owner of my LYS. She loves the company and the needles.

My mind is blown! Because I’ve never thought about there being people who run chaigoo who one can meet and be friends with. Of course there are! Thanks for reminding me. Also, I have the same needle sets you do and I love them. I’ve been feeling the need for wooden needles for some projects, but I want chaigoo cables and connectors. Now I can get them!😍
