@@johnnyq90 Judging by the design of the first centrifugal supercharger the inducer was too large relative to the exducer, and their weren't enough blades, you would need 10 or 11 blades, not 6. That is my guess, just looking by eye.

Carter Davis sort of. This engine was just built and you don't know much. So a benchmark through stress tests etc would show. Kind of like a company creating a new motor.
That is a great motor. You don’t see many that will idle that slow and that reliable. The throttle is spot on very responsive. You are talented guy with that lathe.
That looked like regular plumbing solder and flux. Silver solder has a yellow tint to it, is thinner and needs a high temp flux, usually white colored.
I wondered the same thing. There is a solder called Sta-Brite that contains 3% silver and is good up to 600 degrees. As easy to use as plumbing solder, but a bit higher melting temperature.
I think that's because the fuel is alcohol/nitro methane combo and burns much cooler. I built a copper muffler for my old nitro rc car and none of the lead solder joints ever melted and i ran it hard for decent amounts of time,sometimes too lean and got it pretty hot and the solder joints still held up.

Based on the price of this 4 cylinder you would be better off buying a real v8 that was rebuilt this thing is 1400 dollars the v8 9ne id have to imagine would be around 3 to 4 thousand you could go on vacation with that money or build a 4 engine awd go kart you could buy a high end electric bike or a down payment on a car yea idk its cool but holy fuck is it expensive if you got the money to blow for that hobby do it but I could think of a million other things to spend it on lol I'd probly buy me and my brothers fat tire bikes and install 4 strokes on them thats just me

Some Subarus had unequal exhaust length yet they were fine. I agree that the exhaust under the oil pan is more of a concern, but if he has insulation, he might be fine. I think it'd be better if he routed the exhaust like a regular car, but he probably made it like that for a reason. Maybe when he puts it in the RC the exhaust will be changed

I tried this in my younger years on a nitro powered car, making a dual exhaust system out of sweated copper fittings. One rip at full throttle and 3/4 of my solder joints were melted. Brazing was the ticket
The pistons don't have rings, or tolerances can't be made tight enough due to materials and the fact that it's such a small displacement engine. Plus, it's using nitro fuel which has oil mixed in.
Everybody hating on this guy but his skills are as equal as an automobile engineer in a supercar brand factory. Not everyone can be him. Excellent work there bro!
And with the exhaust the back pressure made it come down to idle alot slower and smother meaning longer life for your top end that's pretty awesome stuff for sure!

one little Trick: use alcohol to cool Aluminium while cutting. It makes great surface and no remnants and rust to your tools ;)
Actually kerosene is the best one to use, better for the cutting blades. Learned that from a production engineer!

Unless it has split crank pins a V4 will always have uneven firing, giving it equal length pipes would have still given it the rumbly, burbly sound.
