I love this model, it flies so damn good without SAFE. I did 4 flights 100% without safe, that long wing I think makes it easier for me to fly. This is my 1.5 m go to flyer now. Thank you and Meagan / Camera Crew for all you do. I'd like a night version of this so I can fly at night when it's not so damn hot and windy.
Awesome! Glad you're loving it! Hot is here to stay for a few days around here - 99 and 99 for the next two day!!!
You are spot-on at the end when you were talking about radios, I'm a spectrum guy myself. Yes you can buy a different brand with a lot more channels for a lot less money but you have to be a genius to figure them out, or maybe I'm just that dumb. It's no secret that Spectrum and Horizon Hobby are trying to lock you into an ecosystem with the radios and batteries and airplanes like apple does with iphones and iPads but It doesnt bother me. If it wasn't for Horizon Hobby I probably would have never gotten back into the hobby, flew nitro years ago then started back up with a apprentice about 5 years ago. I love picking up a new bnf and downloading a new bnf preset on my nx8 and I'm off to fly. And if get into a pinch I know I can come here and get it squared away. I truly appreciate what you do here. Now use your pull with HH and ask them to bring back the F-27 please🤞. Mine are getting wore out lol.
Amen - well said ;)
I still Love Horizon Hobby even though they do this...it's just good stuff, and I don't have to worry about it being crappy...we've maybe reviewed 2 aircraft that were sub par from competitors...rest have been great, and only a few doa issues here and there over the years which they always back us up on...even if it takes a little "convincing" ;)
Brian, appreciate the detail. Just set up thrust reverse because of this video. No where to be found in the manual as you know. Its awesome!!! You all have a great summer. Thanks!
Glad you did it, and it's a MUST have, just be super careful to keep safe out there with the reverse thrust ;)
This is why we have Brian and his beautiful Bride to help us along...
Thank you so much for all the info.. u got me addicted..i bought my first plane in march. Carbon cub s2. Put flaps on. Like u said. Dont need it.. .was fun learning.. now ive got the valliant. Ausome. Then i bought the umx pitts. Great plane. Than i got the umx voodoo.. wow.. ok now just got got the umx waco.. really cool...so im on a roll. Just ordered the cirrus sr22t. Cant wait.. im hooked .. keep up the good work.. never stop flyin.. hope to neet u some day. And your camera crew.. great job also.. thanks . Conrad from minnesota...
Super new day,new Airplane😉😉🔝🔝🔝🔝
Yes, thanks
I absolutely love my cirrus. Just got it. Ordered it through your links to try and support your content(which I absolutely love you guys) . I think eflite should make a EDF sf50. That would be to die for.
Just read some comments after I left this and it sure looks like I'm not alone on this lol. Are you listening horizon!?!
Brain thanks for sharing, love that she lets you pick the hole. Lastly, make a category for those spoken items. Your beyond scrolling through hundreds of choices. Cheers
I think you're talking about on TH-cam...can you check out www.brianphillipsrc.com - we're working on better organization schemes.
Hey guys, I love the videos, I learn a lot from them every time I watch… That being said, I’ve noticed recently, Brian , you tend to go off on some tangents, that become completely unrelated to the model that you are talking about. then, when you finally get back to talking about the current model, you gloss right over the thing that I’ve been waiting to find out how it works if that makes sense. I hate to be critical, because I do really appreciate your videos and the hard work that go into them, but sometimes you just tend to go on and on about unrelated things. My two cents…
Keep up the great work, I do love the videos
Sorry about that.
Love the videos Brian please keep up the amazing work. Videos filled with all kinds of information.
Thanks, will do! Appreciate you being here with us Chris!
I bought this V2 and already have the V1. The only major difference is that V2 runs on 4s with a 800kv motor, 60A SMART ESC and AR637T and its red. The rest of the model is the same, the motor mount is the same, the landing gear is the same, the wings and connectors all the same. I wished they painted the bare foam areas. Nice model indeed.
Yes. All items I agree with - raw foam is okay for lower dollar planes.
Kudos to Camera Crew!
Thanks!
Man i've been waiting for this Video
It is very good! You need one Ron :)
Hopefully they'll introduce the Cirrus Vision Jet with EDF
That would be super cool, but I'm not holding my breath. Still would like to see the UMX F-14!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your sense of humour, and use of sexual innuendo. Your "camera crew" has a lot to put up with 🤣.
Are you sure you are not an Aussie?
Nice plane too
What innuendos??? LOL ;)
We're supposed to avoid the "nut-AND BOLT-sack" comments for new releases - LOL - but they didn't fire us just quite yet!!!
Hi Brian and Meghan, I would file a flat on the front landing gear leg so it will bite better and stay put better, as it will, as it is set up now turn to easily with just a not too good landing!
Nice quick(er) release system for the wings. They should be using hex rather than Philips head screws though. Slowly but surely we're heading towards getting a decent size plane featuring a genuine quick release wing mechanism, i.e. latches so to finally do away with screws altogether.
yep! can't wait for them to get all these details EXACTLY right ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Like the FMS ASW 17!
Would love to see them put brass screw threads in the plastic also. I feel like jus screwing into plastic will strip out if you have to always take the wings off. New Commander is the same way.
@@viciouschloe Yep, that'd certainly be an improvement over plastic screw threads. Still, I'm hoping to one day see a latching mechanism so to make the process as quick as possible.
The thought of having to screw and unscrew the wings every single flight session has deterred me from buying any decent size plane.
Hello Brian and cam crew.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos and flights.
What do you prefer.? Cirrus or Cherokee ?
And why ?
Thks for reading.

56:04 Just a bit unsure about the center of gravity, the leading edge would be the complete front end of the wing, where the lower and higher "airfoil" design meets flat up front, not necessarily the beginning of the wing ... It seems like it flew fine for you, im just a bit cautious and would like to be completely sure before maiden. Thanks!
It's hard to tell. This is always an issue with the CURVES on a plane. I have struggled to get straight answers for years about this, but as you said.
I learned after a while into my RC aviation experience that in marking the CG do not fold along contours of the top of the airfoil, thus marking the CG marks too far forward. It's like a flat line from the inboard most spot where the wing meets the fuse, in most cases, then a flat plane back to wherever the CG is listed in the manual, usually about 1/3 to 2/5th back from the leading edge of the wing.
@ Alright, I appreciate the quick responses and the fact you even reply to years old videos. Pretty sure my CG is fine now, like you said, they should explain a bit clearer what they mean. Much appreciated, thanks 👍
Just to clarify. Y’all were talking about the small triangular strips at the wing root and the one out towards the middle of the wing. Those are called stall strips. It initiates flow separation on part of the upper wing surface during high angles of attack to avoid the tendency to spin during a stall. It also helps with controllability as the plane approaches a stall.
Similar to winglets?
@@BrianPhillipsRC Not really, winglets are there to reduce drag, these cutouts are really there for making sure that the inner part of the wing always loses airflow first.
Mine arrives tomorrow! FedEx sent notice "signature required".... Watched your video, night prior, thanks.....Jerry .... Also new NX8 too
Rock on! Good luck!
Great video, really appreciate your insights, you guys kick butt!!
... for the velcro battery straps , just cut off the extra lengths of both ends (while using the biggest battery you will use for sizing the straps)
Sure, Good call!
The reason they are so hard to get out of the box is air, when you go to pulling them out it causes suction. Opening both sides of the box helps alot
Yes - so true!
Those things on the leading edge of the wing are Stall Stripes Brian they cause the inside of the wing to stall sooner than the outer part of the wing in the real Cirrus it will provide the pilot a buffet feel inside the cockpit
Seriously, thanks for the tip! - just looked that up, and always learning here!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC The Learning never ends in the Aviation Realm
TH-cam, it's BrianPhillipsssss! Haha love the intros, and thanks for the great video. Quick question, if I was at 100% full forward thrust and I accidently turned on reverse thrust, would that be damaging for my plane? I saw your comment about what pilot fatigue is, and you said "FULL REVERSE THROTTLE with one flip of a switch" How is setting up full reverse thrust on this SR22T the way you showed be any different, since reverse thrust should turn on with the flip of a switch?
great looking plane friend
Many thanks! She sure is!!!!
What's the airliner in the back at 16:51? I've been looking to buy a nice RC airliner but there is almost no options. The ones available are either really cheaply made (XK one) or shipping is like an extra $200.00 on top of a $600.00 plane (Freewing).
Here's a small plane that might wet your whistle.... the A170 bprc.me/A170_Mini_Airliner . We have a review video done, but not ready to publish just quite yet.
As for the one in the background, it's a Supreme-Hobbies (now XPR), Boeing 737 Max 9. Believe it or not, we had a deal worked out to bring over a small handful of these airliners to sell stateside (from Hong Kong), and we were going to scale this up over time, but unfortunately the guy we were working with in California ripped off our family for about $7,000 or so (to date), so we're waiting to press charges, which will send him back to federal prison. It's really too bad. We had a pretty clean deal, and he couldn't keep his word, mostly because he's a liar and a thief. Our bad for picking such a looser to do business with - His bad for being a liar and thief ;(
Thanks for the quesiton, and to be clear, we have nothing at all against Supreme-Hobbies / XPR. The issue we have was with a small hobby shop owner in Los Angles, that's currently in default on our small deal. Like I said, we'll be waiting till the balance due is an amount that will trigger felonies, then we'll make sure he goes back to prison.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Really sorry to hear that. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Also, I hope you get your money back.
Hey Brian when in doubt always put it in the middle hole.😂😂😂
yes, words of wisdom ;)
So many models to choose from. Love to have em all but money doesn't grow on trees at least where i live.
Brian, thanks for the amazing video, love the Cirrus, mine came this week. I was thinking about an upgrade to a spongier tire for the nose gear? It looks like a bumpy landing might cause a problem. What do you think?
Which hole, I just lost my coffee! BPRC #1 source for RC info/sexual innuendos 🤣
Brian! I just set my plane up following your guide. Everything works great, except my rudder/ front wheel has hardly any throw. The plane barley turns on the ground. Any ideas on how to fix this? TIA!!
Yes!!!!
100%
Mr. Brian, at 36:42 it seems odd that there's not accompanying backplate for the spinner, like we have with the spinner on the sporty and trusty Commander 1.4m mPd?
Totally! I think the same thing, but they are different from time to time. So long as it doesn't' cause a problem, I don't try too hard to expect one style over another for spinners.
Hi from Michigan: Well done video. I also fly this Cirrus. Had to replace the rudder / nose wheel servo three times. Have you had this problem and if so, do you have a cure. Thanks 🚂
I haven't, but to be honest, I don't get as many "reps" on my planes as I'd like too! I don't find my nose gear to be too terribly weak, but if you're getting down on the mains, and then greasing it in MOST of the time, I'd be surprised if the nose gear gives any issues. The Rudder, that I REALLY don't get...was there an accident involved? Mine hasn't given me any issues, but like I mentioned, I haven't flown it for as many sorties as you, I suspect.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I land on a asphalt runway. I have plans to replace the medal push rod from the servo with a plastic nyrod and put on a spring landing gear on the nose wheel. Thanks Gary
I like the normal format, fly first build later if I am interested.
Thanks! We've been doing it that way for a long time now, and seems to keep people happy. Glad you're enjoying it this way!
Finishing set up and the safe and as3x is backwards. (as you mentioned in the video) Any way to fix this? If not this is gonna be an interesting maiden.
Awesome, What do you like more jets or planes (prop planes)
I like them both. There isn't one over the other, necessarially. I tend to get more prop planes, since there's more available, and up until fairly recently, the EDF's have always been expensive and under powered...now they're JUST expensive ;) LOL
The real-world Cirrus CARBON is a special edition with new liveries, all new interior and avionics upgrades - the E-flite livery just replicates it, nothing to do with the actual model or what it's made of. I am still not a Spektrum guy and never will be, it can never come close to Futaba for me so when these beauties come out with a lot of the value placed in the Spektrum stuff I just chuck out, it is a pity but I work on these in the real world so I have to get one anyway. My only gripe with the V1 and 2 is the interior and pilot but easily fixed after I pull the "smart" stuff out. The "antenna" on the wing tip is actually the pitot - the things you thought were lights on the leading edges are stall strips and cuff reinforcing - was on the V1 too
Sweet Thanks!
Futaba never lets go of it's death grip, much like an early adopter of Spektrum - LOL ;) I get it. Why not just get the PNP?
How very honest of you ""I crashed a lot"""
Quick general question, for sure you have tons of planes, but which are the top 5 that when you like to go and flight fur fun you choose and why is the reason for pick those?
I can't say. I literally feel bad for not flying planes I have (as much as I'd like too), since sometimes it's overwhelming to pick. I walk into the basement, and 200-300 planes stare me down!
I have favorites, but I have "everyday" fliers just like everyone has, the ones that get flown a bunch...
Nice background ;)
thanks!
@@BrianPhillipsRC reminds me I sent you a wire bending tool for landing gears.
This was my second plane five years ago and I’m still flying it!! It’s one of my favorites! Do you think the V2 is worth pursuing seeing that my V1 is still running strong?
If you love it, it's great, but if your V1 is still alive and well, why not try another? If, however, the V1 is dead and gone - definitely go for it!
Cirrus SR22T bit.ly/3RRwPhC
Good luck with your decision!
I just want to ask if this plane works With spektrum DX8 E ?
yes, should be fine!
They have move to M screws, they are hex drive. They did that to my RV-7
seems to be true ;)
I have a nasty looking purple scar the size of a baseball from when my V1 Cirrus went full throttle and sliced me up. Years later, I still have no idea how it happened. I heard you mention the full throttle part, but I assume it has to do with the reverse throttle setup in this instance.
No fun! This plane hasn't done anything "weird" in that regard yet.... ;)
Help with getting wheels off P18 cub,
What are you struggling with?
He sounds like that one guy in movies that try to be “hip” with the kids
You mean, Jack Black? I'm most definitely NOT trying to be "hip" - I may need a hip replacement, maybe...LOL
Oh yeah, did you see us laser the Banana the other day? Your name made me think about that!
@@BrianPhillipsRC you did WHAT!!! To one of my brothers
Where can I get the plane stand?
RC Stand bit.ly/3bdD1O4
Did that controller come with it?
Brian, we all agree that the cirrus is a very nice plane to fly. What you think of a Cirrus Vision jet 90mm??
I think it would be amazing!!!!
Do you fly thumbs or pinchers?
Thumbs
Open both ends of the box it releases the suction.
Dang - that's simple - LOL LOL LOL - oh boy, I learn something new every day!!!
We'll try it next time but blaming you if it doesn't slip out beautifully, Gary - LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Ouch!
Hey Brian, what is pilot fatigue?
Pilot Fatigue Setting is a setting we ADD in addition to Thrust Reverse, whereas we put FULL REVERSE THROTTLE with one flip of a switch. Works GREAT for EDF jets, but might be a bit "overkill" and might be downright dangerous on prop driven planes...so we don't generally share that on prop planes.
If you want to see it in action, check out the F-16 80mm, Habu SS, and a few others ;)
👍
thanks ;)
This or the E-flite RC Airplane Cherokee 1.3m ??
Can you fly it up in the clouds
If the clouds are below 400 feet, you can do it legally, but we're supposed to keep Line of Sight... you CAN for sure fly them into the clouds, but it's considered somewhat dangerous.
