Letting Go from Illusions by Richard Bach. Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all -- young and old, rich and poor, good and evil -- the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self. Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current was what each had learned from birth. But one creature said at last, "I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom." The other creatures laughed and said, "Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!" But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks. Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more. And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, "See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the messiah, come to save us all!" And the one carried in the current said, "I am no more messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure." Love to you Paddy, excellent!!!
I have been to Hat Yai many times and it’s okay.I go there with my family to see my dead relatives there. I go there by train because I just want to enjoy it
Imagine driving around HatYai and seeing a crazy white guy waving a half eaten corn on the cob yelling at the traffic lights. Hahaha! Favorite scene from this whole series, Paddy! Good stuff.
I've been living in Hat Yai for 4 years now and the part you talked about how you hate the traffic lights here just got me laugh like hell yeahhh me tooo. The day I can drive pass through without stuck at any red light make me feel like Yes this is my day today lol
Agreed !. Before the pandemic Mar.2020 , i would skip Friday and Sat in the city. We used to visit during weekdays and drove all the way home to Malaysia on weekend.
@@goodyboy73 wow thats cool. And yea before pandemic there were a lot of Malaysian tourists. I'm glad you like it here. However, even there is no tourists during this time, the traffic on Fri and Sat is still bad here haha
Thank you so much for making this video clip. Hatyai is my hometown. I left Hatyai to attend a four-year college in Chonburi in 1996. I’ve lived in the USA for 21 years now. It’s almost 16 years since I haven’t gone back to visit Haityai. I’m so proud of my hometown, Haiyai. I had a peaceful, happy childhood life and many good memories there. I agree with you for all of those reasons you explained why you love Hatyai so much. I’m so excited to go back to see my hometown soon. Thanks again for the good post! 😇🙏❤
Paddy. you are so lucky men. that you can visiting all this provinces. thank you for inviting us, to enjoy your journey with you. 🙏🙏🇹🇭🇹🇭 thank you from Switzerland.
Let's all celebrate that moment when a few speckles of that buttered corn clung to the corner of Paddy's mouth desperately waiting for the light to change! Love you little Brother.
Wow Hat Yai was not the way I imagined it. I’m glad you showed us some of it. It’s much better than I thought. I’m going to fly down there someday and check it out. Keep smiling Paddy!
The reason that set of light didn’t show the wait time, is because the traffic police can manually control them according to how busy that intersection is. This usually happens during peak time. Enjoy Hat Yai Paddy!!
Loved this episode mate! I can remember on my cycle trip going from Satun ferry terminal to Hat Yai in the one day. A couple punctured tubes, busy highways, and a storm kept me from reaching Hat Yai until about 7pm after a 10-hour day in the saddle. I fell in love with the place too though, ended up spending a few days walking around the temples and eating at the 33 Buffet... ahhh the things you remember about travel - stuffing yourself with ice cream after a hit day. Take care mate!
I was born and leave in Hat Yai for all my life but I never see my city as you see. I never even visit the mosque and Chinese temple. Thank you so much for showing me how amazing city I leaving
Thank you so much, that you like Hatyai City. Our City have many kind people. You can ask them what you want to know, but they really shy to speak English. Hope to see you ~~~ *I'm your fan from Hatyai!❤️
I love Hat Yai 😻 Amazing fried chicken with sticky rice. I once bought an epic Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles t-shirt at a flea market. People very friendly 🙂 I didn't see very many Western travellers.
You are making a lot of people around the world very envious of your adventures. An awesome look at at another amazing city in this beautiful country ( shame about the traffic lights, I agree a definite deal breaker ) We cannot wait to get back to Thailand hopefully Phi Phi next February if normal service has been resumed. Till then we are enjoying every moment of your adventure and feel very lucky to get a glimpse of this this amazing land through your eyes. Look forward to seeing you meet up with subscribers and others on your journey too. Your smile at the end suggests the BBQ was next level as well.
Yes! I’ve been telling people Hat Yai is the place to be since I first visited a few years ago. Something about it feels so ancient but at the same time exciting. I’ve been there twice and completely agree with your assessment. Cheers Paddy, Frank in Bangkok
In general, Hat Yai is just a temporary stop for tourists who want to head to Phuket or Krabi, lots of Malaysians landed here for getting on a bus to Phuket or neighboring province that why Hat Yai has a lots of souvenir shops
Compared with the 105 minutes of my life watching Godzilla vs Kong, I'd take those traffic lights any day of the week. Cool vlog mate, I like your style.
Btw that temple (วัดฉื่อฉาง) just recently opened after decades of restoration since the 1980s flood. I haven’t been back to Hat Yai in years so that was a cool sight to see! Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Nice one Paddy! Yeah HatYai is quite a place, totally unique, and definitely one of the COOLEST cities in all of Thailand! Nice video man, SO MUCH FOOD on the streets of HatYai, could spend months there for sure :). Cheers man! Have a great day today!
Never thought you love my home town so much like this 😆 I'm also frustrating the traffic light in hatyai every time I come back to visit my dad and mom. Even bangkok don't has that many traffic light in every corner of the road.
Simply like your style of descriptions and brought me to the attention of so many facts in Hat Yai even though I am so familiar with this City for more than 20 over years! Great man! Thanks!
Both Trang and Songkhla look amazing. You are seriously inspiring me to imitate you with the trip, with one minor difference: I think rather than riding the bike from province to province, I'll load it in the back of my Hilux and use that for the distance driving. Brilliant trip so far!
I've been in Thailand about 10 years. The best somtam I've ever had was at a beachside restaurant about a 2 to 3 minute walk west from the mermaid statue at Samila Beach. I love the province of Songkhla, but didn't care much for the city of Hat Yai. Anyways, it's great following your adventures, Paddy. Cheers!
i hope your Honda is ok and still live 🤣. yes this is Thailand. people think Thailand is only bangkok, phuket, pattaya and chiang mai. but we have a lot of more beautiful places. take your time and enjoy the #amazingthailand 🙏🙏🇹🇭🇹🇭👍👍 thank you

WOW.... now that’s what I call a proper steak. Was looking forward to hearing the food review and all those individual pots of things with the steak. Looked an awesome province. 👍
Samila beach is beautiful and there are a few more places to travel such as some small village with homestay (Koh Yor) small village on the lake enjoy your stay in Songkhla.
Hi Paddy. I came across your vlog for some Hatyai guide a year ago. True to what you said, I keep on coming back to this city. The culture here is similar to PH and since its just a few hours by train from Penang, going to Hatyai is the best thing I can get close to home.
This was your best video yet, really getting into your solo groove, loving it! Paddy with corn running down his face, "Whyfor no light number?" 🤣🤣🤣 AFter watching this we have decided we MUST to get to Hat Yai again...the last time we were there Kate spent the whole time in bed at the hotel recovering from Dengue so the next trip has GOT to be an improvement for her 🤣🤣🤙😎🙏

I love Hat Yay, the fried chicken with yellow rice in the morning, shopping mall in the afternoon and warm porridge diner.
The yellow rice with chicken is called ข้าวหมกไก่ and the best place to get it is at a restaurant called เดชา. There are several branches in Hat Yai.
Hatyai: biggest city in lower southern Thailand, friendly people, great shopping places, delicious food and fruits. I'm glad that you like it. 😊👍

This video is your best yet. Beautiful video !
Chaing Mai has winter but no beach, while Hatyai has almost everything excepting the cold season.
I'm just considering.
If it has cold season the beaches won't be so beautiful.
The pollution in Chaing Mai is the deal breaker these days. The south has so much to offer. Beach AND mountains. What could be better?
But everything that Hatyai have is nothing compared to Chiang Mai.
Loving the journey so far Paddy! You always bring a lot of energy 😊 keep it coming my man!
