Darn it. I watching to see what you were gonna do with the 3.5in tweeters. I got the same size in my kit and I'm trying to figure out how to get these to work. Mine are needed as the popping of the factory ones is nails on a chalkboard.
holiday311 that's a bummer. I was hoping to install those too. Thankfully ours are still working well. If anyone can help with getting these in we would love to hear about it. Thanks for watching and commenting. ~Mr. C.
Nice video. The speakers in the top dash are actually tweeters for the treble sound. The mid sound would come from the speakers you put in the door that already have the tweeter built in. You’d have to make a bracket for the 3” to fit and maybe put some rubber or rubber cement under the bracket to stop/help the vibration noise. Most of the noises in our keeps come from loose screws/vibrating wire etc.
Actually I just checked mine as the panel is out. A 3” speaker won’t fit without a bracket AND modifying/cutting the top bezel, and having the speaker tipped forward like you had it for a second in your video.
Late Start To Jeepin' that is great information, very helpful. Like you said, I would have to do some major modification to get them in... In my case I did not see the need. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Jeepin! ~Mr. C.
Nice upgrade with the speaker's, did you ever get your stalling issues completely fixed, I know you said In a comment on another video, you had to replace the pcm,did that do the trick? I am having the same issues
Colin Trout I did get the stalling issue fixed. It was the PCM. We have not had any trouble since the repair. I found a bad solder joint on the header connector going to the board. I reworked all of the solder joints with some fresh solder and put everything back together. I wish I had made a video of the process but sadly did not. Thanks for commenting and watching! ~Mr. C.
@Shonyell Byrd I have not owned a 96 but the ZJ body is very consistent from 93 to 98. I would say it is very similar if not exactly the same. Thanks for watching and asking! ~Mr. C.
Peter e weis that is probably a good idea. They don't look like they would hold up to excessive abuse. Thanks for watching and providing input. It is much appreciated! ~Mr. C.
Westside Sagittarius I did not measure for any alternative speaker sizes. I decided to go with closest round speakers to avoid cutting the door. If anyone has more information I would love to hear about it. Excellent question. ~Mr. C.

Can a 6 by 9 speaker fit in there?
