As a doctor this made my blood boil, you triple check everything and get 2 more second opinions before accusing parents of Trying to kill their kid for God's sake!!!!
heart wrenching. when the difference between guilty and innocent is "just a few molecules" you triple check. then you check again.
I agree. The doctor should have kept testing and consulting until there was a solid diagnosis.
I pray their little family does well, that they thrive. 😢

This was an emotional roller coaster. I had to go hug my daughter. This story was very well written.
I did the same. I feel so lucky to have my daughters.
This was so frustrating to listen to. Good on them for suing, they deserve so much compensation for the trauma and mishaps
I will bet that the judge offered no apology,. The whole thing makes me angry and disgusted. I hope the people they sued had to pay out a lot of money .

I assume you were listening. Unlike some people 🐍 but even f the judge didn't apologize. Imo he doesn't really owe her one. All he knows is what is presented to him. Again that's my opinion.

The lawyer failed her and should be sued. He didn’t listen to Patty’s theory. A specialist should have be a witness. Plus, once she was found guilty, DJ should have been returned to David.
I used to live in STL and yeah, it’s kind of known that Cardinal Glennon doesn’t hold a light to St. Louis children’s hospital. My son was even treated in children’s and they are truly amazing.
I listen to Mr ballen stories to help me sleep.... tonight however, I am now wide awake. That story was truly shocking and disturbing. What an awful thing to happen to that poor family.
Any good parent would be upset about this story. My heart goes out to them.

Some doctors think they know everything so they have the "right" to judge. I would think the problem was misdiagnosis. It's a shame they can't sue for malicious persecution. A sad case all the way around. It must have been hell for the new parents.

Having watched too many of these medical stories, I instantly realized that Ryan's illness has to be a mistaken genetic disorder.

That hospital that caused this nightmare to go from bad to worst is Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. Be careful if you go there.
This is so sad when good loving parents get accused of doing something horrible and get traumatized by idiots who won't listen to or consider and check out the whole story.😰😬

The authorities and prosecutor should have been imprisoned for at least a decade for charging Patty.

As someone who's been through a lot of trauma, some of it at the hands of others, this was difficult and infuriating to listen to. Poor Patti and David. I hope they sued the crap out of that pathetic lawyer
I cried for this family 😢..makes me more vigilant of what professionals say about certain things. This is truly heartbreaking and makes me so mad.
I just don’t understand why the parents wouldn’t be trying to work out HOW the antifreeze got inside the bottle and the baby.

So sad! I'm from that area and had a small child at that time and it just made me crazy the whole time that stuff was going on. Plus the lawyers from both sides...wow! Useless! 🤬 Lawyers ain't doctors so bad call on 2nd kids medical history being inadmissible but anyone with a lick of common sense would think if one kid gets diagnosed with something they may want to go a little further and check into the deceased childs medical stuff a little deeper 🙄 especially before trying to send a young mom to jail for life. He shoulda neen disbarred.
