Hi there, just watched your program. Good to see you back on a bike again I went up to Scotland. I say that I come from Hampshire so I went to Scotland and had a run round from Glasgow Erskine Bridge southside Glencoe oben bridge over the Atlantic then up through to Arseg Lock Mora Back through back on the way home, Glencoe Inverary I apologise for any spellings you know us Englishman can’t speak the language them back home that was on my sidecar outfit some 10 years ago got to do it again but anyway that’s me over with even better to see you back on the road. All the very best Michael.
Hello Michael and thank you for that. Very few people watch my scooter videos they seem to prefer my ones on my old BSA C15. They both take as much effort to make. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You've got to get out and adventure in Scotland again.
Yes I think I just like the idea of a magic carpet made of steel still got bikes unfortunately due to serious accident many years ago bodies not quite as good as it could be. I have just bought well a year ago a Honda xadv 750 not my first choice but on so pleased I bought it. It gives me a whole new lease of life and I just enjoy the road and the miles and when they’re pretty roads and pretty miles is even better Still got a year two before I retire but just can’t stop the itch is that old motorcycling bug anyway back to work and keep making good films don’t care what they’re on. They’re nice roads interesting films that you do 👍
My brother bought a new Sym 300 scooter few years back. It sat at my father's run down shed for too long where mould and rust started to appear on it.. In March I reserected it and took it to Scotland for a few days traveling from Northern Ireland... It turned out to be a fantastic little machine, enough room under the seat for a bag of clothes and some tools. I did a lap of the Isle of Bute from were my ancestors come from (me being Ulster Scott's). Then headed for Oban for the night. Next day Applecross then Inverness and headed for Fort William.. That road is one of the best iv ever been on. I eventually ended up in Tyndrum of which I'd be a regular.. I'm a convert to scooters😂😂. Scotland the brave. Scotland the beautiful.
Scooters are great especially as you get older. I love my BSA but I also love my scooter. So glad you had a nice time in Scotland. The carrying ability of a scooter is amazing. Thanks for the comment.
Good to see you out and about Hugh. You live in a most beautiful part of the world. I,m still waiting for my op but that will come eventually. Hope you are well on the road to your old self. Regards Stuart from Co.Durham.
Hello Stuart and thank you again for commenting. I am very fortunate living where I do. I don't take it for granted. I hope your operation goes well. I'm 4 months on and I'd say 95% back to what I was physically. I'm excited because my wee BSA fried it's electrics including its electronic ignition. I got hold of a distributor on eBay and have put it back to points ignition. It's running quite well. I took it out 10 miles today. I have to trust it again. Hopefully I'll take on a longer run soon and film it. Kind wishes, Hugh
Beautiful Video Hugh, I know the area well, with my extensive travels for Photography, but I would not say I know it as well as a Scotsman like your good self, but truly magnificent scenery, I am terrible Hugh, I plan my journey and I never complete it because I keep stopping to take Photographs, as a Seascape and Landscape Photographer, its just utopia for me, nice to see you out and about again making these great Videos, ride safely and take care, Colin.
Fascinating countryside! I've been looking forward to another one of your videos so I'm happy to see you out and about. Summer was also a non-event here in southeastern Northumberland but it looks like you had a pleasant day for your latest Scooter Gourmet culinary experience. I don't think electronic ignition for motorcycles is all it is made out to be, I think your BSA will be happy with points.
Hello again William. I am feeling great again. It was great to be out that day. I grabbed the weather window. The BSA is running again so hope to take it out soon. I am doing short runs till I trust it again. Thanks for lovely comments as ever.
I was think only the other day, not seen a video from Mr Hugh for a bit, hope he is ok, then this gem of a video appears, what a treat really enjoyed it.
Thank you Frank. The lack of videos is first due to recovering fro surgery and then a terrible summer. I only go out when dry. I'm soft and proud of it. Really appreciate the comment.
@@hughferrier5837 As you say Hugh it’s been a poor summer plus you recovery, but nice to see a video from you, hopefully a few more before the years end.
Hugh fantastic, so pleased to see you getting out and about. I do very much pray and hope that your on the mend. Lovely to see the countryside of Scotland. All the very very best to you. Dave.
Dave that is very kind. I love the handle you use on TH-cam. It is so appropriate. After a day out your visor is a mess. I feel really well now and it's great to be on two wheels. I value your prayers.
well its very nice to see you out on 2 wheels again Hugh, and that as given me a thought you could set up a channel and call it, the chef on two wheel out and about on the high ways and by way of lovely Scotland, anyway just a thought, but more important look after your self and take care Hugh.
Lovely scenery and good to see you out and about again Hugh. Did you have a different arrangement with your microphone for the riding sequences, or is the scooter just so much quieter than the C15? In the Beeser videos, we had the nice accompaniment of the engine sounds which are absent in this one. I think engine noise is so much the essence of motorcycling - I REALLY enjoy the sound of engines working. I find that I tune in to every change of note, and every new sound, worrying about what is about to 'let go, and bring me to a standstill. Probably a hang over from my BSA transports of the late 1960s and early 1970s. I never went anywhere without a bag of tools on them.
Hello Tony and thank you for that. You are right the position of the microphone is different on the scooter and also the scooter is way more silent than the BSA!! I put the camera on the top of my helmet on the scooter as the screen gets in the way if I use the chin mount. On the BSA I use a chin mount and it is so noisy its sounds are picked up! The BSA is more 'musical'.

Thank you very much Colin. I take it as a real compliment coming from a photographer. I am so fortunate to live here and have all these runs near me.

Peter thank you for your lovely message. I'm feeling great and no discomfort now on two wheels. Hoping to take the BSA out soon.
