Lots of people talking out their hind ends through their fingers here. I own one of these Tonemaster Twins (as well as an original blackface and a monster silverface... plus vintage Supers, Deluxes etc), and this TM Twin is an absolute monster. I play roots style low gain tones, so I'm damned picky about how something breaks up. Fender got this right. I've gigged on it on small stages and huge ones with monitor guys, and it lives up to the hype. The attenuation is a lifesaver, and the DI out is incredibly useful. Most importantly, it has the tones down pat. I'll continue to record with my tube amps, but that's perhaps just a security blanket. I'm excited to see how Fender continues to develop this line.
@@doctorskull8197 responding to my original comment I don't think I ever actually ordered one of these lol! But I've just bought the twin a week ago and it slays live!
What a comparison. 15 seconds of real Twin and 6:50 of Tonemaster. I kept waiting for the real twin to get a chance again. Oh well. Great playing by the way.
IMO the 67 sounds better but I'm impressed with the Tone Master. For $500 more and around the same price as the TRRI, I'd take the vintage all day, every day. I just bought a healthy 66 for $1,500.
If you don't mind your back getting crushed from lugging that 70 pound brick around... the Tonemaster is half that weight... 35 pounds, lifting it up with 2 fingers and no sweat. That's worth a whole lot for a gigging musician.
yeah the tonemaster just sounds a little better.. a little cleaner, like comparing an old radio vs new radio.... some might say its a bad thing, that old is better.
Yea that dude was killing it. If u want chords to ring out shoot a fucking vid u d bag. Dudes playing was fucking legend status and I’ve never heard a tone m sound so good
@@comicblueswithjonygitar36 we will get a better one up there. this thing is really good , tho that particular blackface was VERY VERY good . Nice try Tone Master, honestly; but, Leo Fender's blackfaced Twin could harness an es-335, the guitar of the day. You have proved nothing with a tele and without a live band, live audience and a song sheet. (Back in 1967 the different instruments' sounds had to mesh to form songs)
Fender thought the mustang was going to be the ticket but now they have this piece of crap tone master.one day fender will say,i have an idea of making point to point reasonable for customers.whamo,it will happen because tubes will always be king.

Mark Smith, thanks for info.
Have the Deluxe version, It is really that great! Well played, thanks for sharing!
Just curious what made you go for the deluxe over the twin at the relatively small price difference? Thinking of getting the twin
What a hell of a player!!! 💥 Bam
Nice demo. Fantastic playing! I just purchased the Deluxe Reverb version. Great amp! Only 23 pounds!
Still loving it? Just ordered mine
I'm trying to decide between the 2 of them
@@swardmusic yep! 2 years later I got another one. Double the fun! Should always have a spare on hand!

Good video. Super wicked playing. I have 2 older Twin Reverbs but this is a new game. The weight factor is a winner.
Audio/Video Quality NEXT LEVEL.
Awesome demo! Tonemaster sounds great. The riff at 3:30 sounds like the intro to Great White’s song Face the Day.
What a comparison. 15 seconds of real Twin and 6:50 of Tonemaster. I kept waiting for the real twin to get a chance again. Oh well. Great playing by the way.
Probably he like the Tonemaster better, finally a Twin you can crank up and lug around with 2 fingers 😁
These 15 seconds still sounded better.
The solid state sounds good. The tube original sounds alive. :)
Came for the amp comparison, liking for your AMAZING playing... TEACH ME THE SOUTHERN TWANG STUFF.
Please keep making more videos!
Sorry but I stopped payin atention to the amp in favor of the guitar player. What a beast of a player!

The tube Twin sounds more solid state in these videos. Those nail on a chalk board highs.
Bruh. You are a beast
Great stuff guys, appreciate the upload. Been thinking bout trying one out but since they're so new its hard finding unbiased videos
great sounding--
the trem is a bit lackluster
Killer playing! What did you think of the Tonemaster compared to the 67 ?
Sweet picking there. Who's the player here?
Aaron Currie, truly the best !
Tho amps were great, the playing was hell of a lot better!
monster player
name of the guitarist?
Great chops!

Just love those old blackface twins ! you can make a great amp but you cant model that !
What's the difference, you are hearing?
Solo mostraste el Tone Master....????
Thought it was Josh Smith for a second!!
You better play that tele sir! WTF
This video just singlehandedly killed valve amps
Guitar Man 🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏
idiot comment...3 years later tube amps are selling like crazy
Looks like ‘B,’ the Tonemaster, stole the audition.
Try letting some chords ring out; can tell little to nothing with all the busy noodling
No one in a crowd of listeners, anytime, anywhere, will ever wish this.
Yea that dude was killing it. If u want chords to ring out shoot a fucking vid u d bag. Dudes playing was fucking legend status and I’ve never heard a tone m sound so good
Legendary picking, and you want him to play chords? I can hear perfectly fine that the Tonemaster is more than great for the job.
No reverb is necessary if you just turn the thing up loud enough!
Are you selling the twin reverb for $2660, when it is all over the net for $1000. Check out ebay and reverb
Looks like that is the tag for the amp behind it.
china amp vs usa amp end of story
Not really much A/B’ing going on.....
15 seconds of A, real tube ass kicker, then guy yells stop, then it's B the half assed thin brittle soulless solid state, lush not heard.
