I just used my S7 first time on 110 v with 6013 3/32 rod did a great job on the repair

I've heard many cheap welders have horrible ground clamps. Your harbor freight looks like it has a nice ground clamp. 1/8 rod is much larger than .035 mig wire so if ground clamps are a issue it could explain what we are seeing.

I got a bigger one I'll put it on and see how it does

Grinding your surface will definitely help i weld pipe i never go over 90 amps on stick your ground might be the problem or it could be the welder but becus of the welders falts i havent gotten my anser on this welder

You can add a meter clamp to see if the screen match the amps or voltage with the clamp, maybe is running low amps that what it shows

Have you tried running the other rods higher too? Some of these cheaper machines are a bit lower then they claim, could be why you saw a better result when you ran that one rod at 130 and all the others were sticking at 120?
I have been touing with getting the S7 MIG-200... what is the duty cycle?

I can't find the manual but I think it said 60 percent. I'll try running the other rods hotter and see what happens. I read these cheap inverter welders are off by thirty or so amps a lot of the time. I like it it runs .030 flux core really well.

@@sizzles1743 you recommend it overall? I am a beginning welder (taking classes at the local community college) looking to get into the profession afterward and am looking for something to practice with when I am not in class.

@@inkednpierced4u53 yes it's a pretty good deal, I had a 110 Lincoln wire feed welder that cost about five times as much and using this on 110 with flux core it welds about the same. I'm pretty happy with it. There are definitely better multi processes welders out there if you want to spend a lot more money. I think this is 150 on Amazon right now. It does have that European style wire feed gun but you can find the nozzles online. I have not used it with gas or tried the lift start tig but just being able to wire feed on 110 or 220 is nice. I have 220 in my garage but I welded a gate for a friend and it did fine on 110. The wire feed is in metric so you just need to play around to get a feeling for how it compares to ipm.

You set up for 120 volts or 220?

That was on 220 but the machine does both. Its not a bad wire feeder but it doesn't burn stick for shit.
