Its hard to see children living a harsh life in africa and humanitarian organizations are always trying to help them, but its their government fault that they are not controlling their population. My name is Mohab, and I'm the guy who Barby honored with his invite to co-host this episode (and he can confirm that I am who I claim to be, not an impostor of sorts).
I'm not even sure if my comment will be read amidst the floods of comments that precedes mine. However, for those who might happen to notice it, I wanted to tackle a few points, just for honest and transparent clarification. : )
First of all, I have absolutely no doubt that Barby is more than capable of hosting the whole show on his own. He doesn't bring people because he's "lacking", but because he's a confident person who's truly keen about his craft. To him, it adds much more authenticity to feature native people to the countries he's introducing. Working with him and his team was nothing short of a lovely, educational, and far too enjoyable experience. I'd do it a hundred times again if I could.
Secondly, I'm a dork through and through, but perhaps that wasn't shown evidently in the video! : ) I was totally kidding about being "too cute to be drafted". The real story is far simpler and more believable than that.
Thirdly, I did not - repeat did NOT - represent my personal political views in this episode, and out of respect, I won't do that in here. This isn't a talk show that favors sides, but rather a hopefully unbiased representation of facts about civilizations and countries. Please notice that I said "hopefully", since some facts can be arguable and frowned upon. The part about the development of the Egyptian Revolution was merely indicating numbers and dates according to most reliable resources. However, those can and will be wrong sometimes, since being perfectly neutral is impossible.
Lastly, I was born and raised in Egypt, and I assure you that there's NO WAY you could summarize such a sophisticated, multi-layered, and anciently rooted country in 12 minutes. When I met Barby to prepare for the episode we both knew that it's impossible to mention every single thing about Egypt in one episode, no matter how hard we could try. So, I apologize if some things/facts/topics weren't mentioned. I assure you, we didn't "rule out" anything by choice, but rather tried to address the biggest headlines. Remember, perspective plays a great part in this.
That was incredibly long, but I felt that addressing those concerns and comments of yours is the right thing. : )
