The narrator has cherry picked schemes to portray a one sided view. Gujarat’s success is because of its visionary leaders, while southern states grew due to central schemes? Looking at what was available to every state at that time and how each state utilized it to grow is an objective analysis.

Such a half-baked opinion from Meenakshi Lekhi.
Zero mention about something called population control, which directly resulted in more resources available to develop human capital. Maybe Ms. Lekhi will call it as a Central government scheme and take credit for it. What better to expect from a North Indian.
2:44 The freight equalization policy (free transportation) majorly benefited Maharashtra and Gujarat than Southern States. Souther states as well have coal reserve (eg : Neyveli). Tamil Nadu has huge wind farms over decades that produce about 50% of power requirements. Kerala with 80% power generation from renewable sources. Mrs Lekhi should read the report again.
3:54 Are ITIs not in other states? Madam is listing every penny possible. Can you list every penny and policies that are specific to other states?
5:26 Since when power supply was in the center's control. It is the state government's responsibility to install the necessary capacity or to have power sharing agreements. Any state government that couldn't match this gap is forced to load shedding.
6:00 Andra pradesh got aid only because it's part of the coalition government. Can you list the aids that are targeted for Bihar as well?
The reality is that India is extremely centralized when it comes to fiscal power that every state is forced to beg the central government for funds. More power should lay with the municipality who has to face the people, not even at the state level. For example, the US collects federal tax and states tax from every citizen separately. Basically, there is much more federalism that Modi was pitching for when he was the CM of Gujarat.

The eastern part of India has never been integrated with India since 1947, it's only now that namo is trying his best to integrate eastern India with Delhi to further progress of India!! The southern states have mostly not faced any invadion from outside muslim rulers and have a strong community bonding ,this is except Kerala, they know how to oil delhi to get the money out for the development of there own community , and have kept themselves accountable to Delhi, they have agreed to work together amongst themselves to progress a d they have done good for there own states ,but with foreign investment came radical Islamic conversion to Islam and Christianity. But on the whole the tamils kannada Telugu have improved there states economy no doubt . The north and west have faced invasion from outside, it's not easy to stand on.your feet after invadion , however, considerimg this also the north and west also have agreed to work together and be accountable to Delhi ,states like Maharashtra gujrat haryana have moved ahead with this attitude, best wishes to both north a d south
West Bengal is kept behind because Bengali hindu community cannot work together😁,i know, each Bengali will pull down its own breathern, but this is notbthe case with Bengali muslims, added to this Jyoti Basu took decision from communist angle, so all big industries shifted to south or west or north, the IT industry first came to west bengal from America, but as I said Jyoti Basu since he was a communist took decision as a communist and did not allow American IT companies. Tmc is no good, so west bengal is a poor state today.

I am not quoting arbitrarily but have got into argument and discussion where many viewers outright abused.. me.. where this is going to lead as a nation is really not known. But can easily find out that we seem to be repeating 1925s . A divide rule approach happened or was clustered the same time leading to partition. Divide meaning dividing the hindu society.. The central government shifted from being south centric to the pan India. Now you can see the infrastructure development in UP and robust growth rate of 11 to12% in Bihar after 2014. The eastern Indian states like Assam, Orisha and Bihar have become priority of Indian government because demographic dividend. This is the reason why Tamilians and malayali want congress to win the national election and Raul to become PM. So the central government become more focused on tamilians and malyali people

By the way, South India experienced real growth only after Economic Liberalisation in 1991, thanks to Y2K bug and IT boom. Now, South India has a robust IT/ITeS sector.
