Today, the wealthiest newborn in the world is born in China, inheriting the wealth of 14 ancestors, curtsy three generations of one-child policy. In another generation, the Chinese will be the wealthiest country in the world. With the highest per capita in the world, how does it matter if the country's growth rate slows? They will become the wealthiest capitalists in the world.
Why has a learned Journalist like Gupta yet to address this aspect?
Increasingly, manufacturing is now done by robots rather than Human beings. China is way ahead of the world in using robotics and AI in manufacturing. Moreover, today, the Communist Chinese do capitalism better than anybody else in the world. No wonder China has become the factory of the world. I'm curious why Gupta Jee is still living in the 20th century.

India on the other hand is bringing back the Old Pension Scheme by stealth.
The OPS was abolished for a reason and that was it was unsustainable fiscally.

UPS is not OPS. UPS = OPS - commutation benefit - GPF.
Pension commutation and GPF were the biggest rewards in OPS that's officially over and is unlikely to be reintroduced by centre due to fiscal danger. The opposition ruled states that had reintroduced OPS such as heavily indebted Punjab have not implemented it until now. Finally it is more likely that the Central government would increase the retirement age to 65 for public servants in India to reduce the pension outgoes. Of course UPS has restored an inequality that previously existed between public and private sector employees but that is only going to go away when there is strong votebank in regular salaried private jobs. 😊

Indian youth need to start gaining work experience much earlier, especially those enrolling in tertiary education or preparing for government exams. State governments, industry, and educators have to work together to create a roadmap for a skilled workforce. Hearing about youth unemployment rate, or too many deemed unemployable after years of schooling is disheartening. This is supposed to be the period of demographic dividend.

As a result crime rate of these cities go up, and we end up with ever expanding slums.
