I love how Becky does her own Elle and doesn't try to copy LBB as being her understudy as a lot of people might expect from the understudy. I know a lot of people loved Haven but Becky is a lot more animated in my opinion.
I like all three for different reasons. (I don’t think this is Haven’s show, she’s not as impressive of a dancer as she is a singer and actor, and Jerry Mitchell built the show around his choreography.)

not to shit on his acting skills, because christian borle slays my life, but I think in a subconscious way, he really didn't let himself fully emote as much with the other elles after laura bell bundy. like rumors and everything aside, I can't help but compare the undeniable chemistry between borle and bundy and notice how differently he approaches the character with other elles. he was perfectly fine with interaction in this one, but dear god if anyone's ever seen videos of him and bailey hanks, there's almost an uncomfortable tension and distance between the two. who knows, maybe he didn't feel like giving as much once his original partner had left the show.
I 100% agree with this. christian and laura had the best chemistry because it was the same in real life. you can even tell with the kisses at the end. I'm still sad that they broke up lol
No, I totally know what you mean, I've seen the Bailey Hanks one too and dear god, he's so uncomfortable. Oh and Bailey Hanks was also 20 when he was 35, during the show. So it was just an uncomfortable match all around. He definitely vibed with LBB the most, for sure. Also he went for a kiss at the end of Take It Like a Man in the MTV one, here he's literally not even going for the hug, Elle had to come to him
Honestly like this is probably one of the most accurate criticisms of him as a performer. If you watch any of the boots where Andy or Noah are on, the chemistry is wild, especially Andy and Becky. And Andy's significant other is IN the show... He's not a great romantic lead, and Broadway casting directors never saw him the same after that. I think that's why Falsettos had such an incredible impact on me...because I was like oh yeah THIS GUY HAS FEELINGS.
They each have their own interpretation of Elle. I prefer LBB's exaggerated actions as this is a stage, not a soap opera. Both voices are on point anyway.
