Awesome video! Thanks again for coming down, we had a blast showing you around Project Subascort, and we can't wait to show more of our progress on TH-cam too!
Love it, I’ve done a Mk4 Escort RS Turbo with Sierra RWD floor with Cosworth YB so appreciate how much work goes it a body/floor swap. Cracking work 👍🏻
Fantastic video pal. Fair play to the owner/builder, love the idea, especially how much controversy it will cause! Cossie men will be loosing their shit! 🤣 Your channel should be waaaaay more popular than it currently is, here’s hoping things continue to grow.
Can’t believe the Subie is the same size as a MK6 Escort… Shows you how much bigger cars are recently. The UK’s meant to be “clamping down” on pollution, how come they sell so many big SUV’s that pollute more? Makes ya wonder…
Technically, the chassis is the Subaru, so I’m guessing it would be identified under that. At the same time, you have kit cars; some registered on what the chassis is, some not. So honestly, I’m unsure! :)
It would be Q plate 100% if they wanted it back on the raod, this is what the DVLA state. To Keep a vehicle’s original registration number A rebuilt vehicle can keep its original registration number if you can prove you’ve used: • the original unmodified chassis or bodyshell (car or light van) • a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original (car or light van) • the original unmodified frame (motorbike) • a new frame of the same specification as the original (motorbike) You must also have 2 other major components from the original vehicle from the following lists. For cars or light vans: • suspension (front and back) • steering assembly • axles (both) • transmission • engine For motorbikes: • forks • wheels • engine • gear box Get a Q registration number DVLA will give your vehicle a ‘Q’ prefix registration number if you do not meet the conditions for keeping the original registration number. Your vehicle must pass the relevant type approval test to get a Q registration number
@@freddieparrydrums nope! It doesn't retain the factory shell so would need an independent engineers report, that would establish major modifications so would also be a Q plate. Theres a points system they use, a none standard shell as originally intended is a fail.
Bro I’m 32 ye old Only just started liking cars after passing my test bro is there any point trying to learn how to fix them and do what u are at my age bro ??

You should check out shine automotive TH-cam channel. They are building a Ford Xr2 shell on too a Audi mk2 floor. Awesome build in the making.

Can this be done with the escort mk6 van? I have one with the cosworth wide arch body kit and it needs a new floor
Yes it can be done no problems
@@TwinEngineCorsa how much 😆
Was it a 4 door subu aka thr cheap one
Did wenny frm fast ford do 1 of these ?
How would this be registered on a log book a subaru or escort
Think it would be Scooby mate?

Surely you’d want to register it as per what it’s recognisable as - I.e. an Escort?

So me a favour on Facebook “the twin engine corsa” drop me a message an I will come an film it ☺️
It’s fantastic people are making good use of old mostly rotten cars
Awesome, but I think this is a body swap not floor plan.

At your age😆 What id do to be 32, never too late mate at all, 10 years of learning under your belt, 42 and be a wizard at fixing cars, just takes time
@@TwinEngineCorsa feels like av wasted my life bro literally lol u are a genius tho lol lie 😂 …..
The cosworth has a longer front end than a normal escort tho
They are wider too as Ford actually used the Sierra 4X4 floorpan and grafted that in to an Escort shell too..
The only thing that a escort cosworth has in common with a escort is it’s name
It’s basically a sierra 4x4 shortened with a escort shell attached
Imperza
What ever happened to this project?
They could always swap in a Ford engine and no one would be the wiser without looking alot harder.
They did the conversion because they wanted the car to actually drive good, which a Subaru would
