Farewell, Rebels. Thanks for all the rugby through the years.
Shame, it has to end this way. It’s not good for anybody.
It’s the only way forward for Aus rugby if they want to save union, unfortunately.
Yet there is talent and and a strong team element. Either way, it's too easy to dump teams these days.
@@lewisafal it isn't though! And the reason they got dumped isn't because of the dilution of the code
The last try for the Rebels was beautiful.
R.I.P. Rebels 2011-2024 🫡
Good riddance
They never were alive
@@liviuciprian4580 Harsh. 😢
Rest in pieces
@nepiahemopo1702 Sorry, it s not that i am mean
But the way how rugby is managed in Australia and the way Super Rugby is managed....I am surprised that Super Rugby still exist...And becouse of that Rebels never had a chance....which sincerely I regret.
Congratulations Hurricanes 💛
Greetings from Portugal 💚🇵🇹❤️
Thanks for the memories Rebels, a real shame that the year you guys actually started becoming competitive was also going to be your last appearance in Super Rugby.
All the best on future endeavors for players and staff.
Hopefully those injuries to numia and love are not as bad, otherwise fantastic game up the canes 🖤💛
Thanks Melbourne for the footy over the years 👍
sad truth was nobody in melbourne even knew they exists lol
Iose and Aumua were brilliant hopefully in the Abs mix, same with proctor
For sure
The game is heading that way. Size matters.
New Zealand rugby is alive and well 😍
Yes sir 💪👍
From Italy...I hope to see you soon Rebels😢
All things considered, I think that the rebels can say that they have had a pretty good season. I hope they manage to stay afloat.
They’re drowning in Debt, this was their last game.
The best players from that team will be poached from other teams. One of them being poached for the NRL.
@@azaleaheinrich9877 who?
Those 6,7,8 and 2 for the Hurricanes are a beauty to watch..🟡⚫
In the all blacks squad
The biggest news for me is the fact that TJ did not score a try
He got so close at the start haha
Respect to the Rebels!
Those rebels played like they had nothing to loose!
Beautiful try at the end there!
Sorry and thank you Rebels
Being a Wallaby fan, I should probably want the Brumbies to win it from here, but the utmost respect shown to us (Rebels) by the Hurricanes fans\players\media have given me lots to think about for the next two weeks.
Up the Canes 💛 🖤
Great match today
Perenara deserves a call back to the ABs.
I was guttered when roigard got injured (still am) but I have been seriously impressed since TJ took over. I think his form at the moment is outstanding, he fell away a bit after japan but he’s definitely
Back on top now
Aumua, such an complete athlete
These quarter finals are just for ticket sales. Only top 4 teams should go through.
I totally agree. The 8th best team shouldn't get a shot at a playoff
100% agree it’s ridiculous! To finish 8/12 teams and make the playoffs haha I mean what a joke
Australia were at their most successful with fewer teams to choose from.
Hurricanes fan here but rebels had great defense. Nowhere to be seen in the second half.
In fairness, it felt like the Rebels were a slim chance closer than the Reds. Still a blowout 😢
Last try double movement
2:00 oilers jersey in the wild
I was at the game
Same! That fella who ran onto the field tho
I must have missed you, were you either the ref, touch judge or ball boy, because no one was in the crowd! 🙃
the barretts are choice ay.
Congrats to the Rebels for making their maiden Finals appearance. Really hope they can carry this momentum into 2025.
😂 jokes broo
Alr so whos gonna tell him 😬
The only momentum the Rebels are carrying is taking them into the abyss.
Who would’ve thought another Australian club taking an L in super rugby
Look at the log points and games won difference between teams 1 and 8 in the URC compared to SR. I loved SR but now I've seen water less watered down than this comp. How does a team lose 6 on the trot and still make the playoffs?
A rising tide raises all ships but this is turning into drying up pond.
3 line breaks and 2 line reaching tries were the difference between the 2 sides
I hope someone signs Carter Gordon. He is too good to lose from Super Rugby. Maybe the Highlanders or even the Crusaders should consider signing him.
He's class, isn't he? I wouldn't mind seeing him in the Crusaders.
Rumors are that the NRL are after him
😂😂
Chiefs thru,Hurricanes thru, now the blues are thru come on highlanders let's make it a all kiwi semi thank you rebels.
Sold out attendance I see
Rebel's play like a Kiwi side
Some controversial tries there ref. The last ones a triple movement. The second to last one though. Looked short.
Goodbye Rebels!!😭❤️🩹
Australian team are getting better again i reckon
soon the super rugby will be super 10 who next the question my bet moana
Super rugby need to go. Bring back NPC with home and away game
@@alexrobinson2103 a much better idea is join the japanese and get rid of play for your country,, truth is you need money and japanese got plenty
All blacks will have scary squad with all the players from canes , blues, chiefs , saders, highlanders.
Bring on the ALL BLACKS
The hurricanes played better rugby, great pass execution ,and consistency.
nobody can kick straight anymore
Jordie breaking bad boy...
RIP rugby - I’m so sad to watch these crowds from the UK we’re struggling too SA teams too empty stadiums where if you look at highlights just 6-8 years ago this stadium was nearly full
all the red cards and also scrum boredom from SA ?
RIP rugby?? Ticket sales mean nothing.the way people watch sport has just evolved over the years, like everything else in life .its cheaper and more enjoyable to watch it at home on TV with friends rather than sit in the cold in a crappy hard chair, with a warm flat beer in a cup, some soggy $10 hot chips and have to walk 10 minutes to go toilet
The real money always has been, and always will be- sponsorships, merch, and most of all TV rights.
Just because the stadiums empty doesn’t mean there’s not 100s of 1000s of people watching it on TV at home.
@@MatW4606 I hope you’re right friend, no one wants to see rugby succeed more than me but Google viewing figures they’re down 60% in most countries too I’m afraid
Hurricanes -blues the finale sure
Rebel is not play 2024😅
Quarter final... why crowd small like this?
Why arent you there?
@@alexrobinson2103 cause i am at 20 000 km from the stadiium 🤣
22,000 that's good enough
Small crowd because
- no parking
- expensive
-freezing cold
-hard plastic seat
- $12 beer
-$10 soggy bowl of chips
- 10 minute walk to toilet
- no commentary to listen to
-can hardly see what’s going on from your seat
Your welcome
@@MatW4606 in fact it doesnt make you want
Up the canes!
More shocking defence from an Australian side. Woeful.
Rebels #8 is atrocious defensively
One legged quarter finals at home to the better team is pretty boring.
guys seriously, in the 1st 10 seconds announcing the chiefs won their game. That's just bloody useless, put a thought into it.
Rebels were a basket club ever since the started in 2011. Ra had 13 years before this day to turn shit around
Well done Canes. Bye-z-bye Rebs.
Wellington fans should be ashamed of not showing up for our team that stadium should be packed this is why the all blacks aren’t the best anymore people turned their backs on our game
420,000 people watching the game on TV
I wouldn’t call that “turning their backs”
no 8 from the rebels is clueless cant tackle
Booing the kicker, only in NZ
Why is the stadium half empty??
Why arent you there?
@@alexrobinson2103 cos im English & live in England, & i thought u lot loved ya rugby! Im just curious, so why is it half empty, esp in the knockout stages?
Because it's warmer at home and then you can watch all games live on tv, instead of just one? Food/drinks at stadium too expensive? People can't afford to go to more than one game once in a while and they're saving their money for - hopefully - the final? Or the stadium is just too big for a NZ game; we have a small population. There are so many possible reasons.
@@magpieasm5169 thank you very much for explaining Magpie, much appreciated!! Al the best to you luv from Newcastle, England!!🏴🏳
There was a 22,000 crowd which is more than the Premiership semi-finals. The game was played in a 35,000 seat stadium, that's why we saw so many empty seats. Moreover, as the outcome of the game was known well before the kick off, there was little motivation to go to the stadium where everything is expensive (entrance ticket, food, beer).
Hurricanes are always damn good but the Rebels defence is pure rubbish.
Horrible tackling from the Canes! Going to bite them against a better team
Not a great game. I don’t think the hurricanes played particularly well but they didn’t need to because… how in the world can a team like the Rebels make the quarters? They never had a chance
Making the quarters doesn’t really mean your a good team
That deserves a shot at the championship . It means you came 8th out of 12 teams, not exactly anything impressive by all means
Kicks are not highlights
Australia rugby 🗑 🚮 💀 ☠
This tournament literally needs South African sides 😂
They couldn't win any trophies so went somewhere were they could.
@jimbokiwi9322 They won 3 trophies
@@khankake9576 yeah 3 times in 28 attempts and the last was 15 years ago. Dam even the Aussie have won it more than SA.
@@jimbokiwi9322that's true
Saffa teams need to get back by choice since they left on their own free will.
Wow, what a joke of a comp this. Two quarter finals so far and not one was even remotely competitive this year.
What do you expect ? A team comes 8th place out of 12 teams and makes the quarter finals?!!! There shouldn’t even be a quarter final in a competition with 12 teams! Should be top 4 only
It’s so boring watching the hurricanes and crusaders win all the games every year. I hope hurricanes lose.
Except this year you mean? Sader's were truly awful in 2024.
What are you on about? The chiefs and blues have had a better record than the canes in the past few years.
Hurricanes 🔛🔝
Come with me to church tomorrow and ask Jesus to change the channel 🙏
@@WhetuRichmond07 Bruh I can support the Canes what's wrong? 😂
See you Melbourne - that’s what you get for having the most useless Primier during the Covid lockdown
some survive
some perish
its a great Game‼️🥂

Sayonara rebels 🫡
Pathetic crowd Wellington - don’t deserve to be top
Oh so it’s the players and the teams fault that the stadium isn’t packed full with 50,000 people ? Shame on the hurricanes that’s so bad on their part
Yes let’s kick them out of the competition instead that’s fair , they don’t deserve to be top of the table after being the best team all season
