This has to be the best reverb pedal I've ever heard. in each of the three settings the fact that it has a fantastic trio of tremolos just makes it even better.
The absolute best trem/reverb pedal I have heard. I remember being in a studio of a highly acclaimed engineer a few years back and he randomly pulled this pedal out and said “Here. Im patching this in. You don’t like it too bad” (he was joking lol). We were floored.
Andy, I'm very disappointed that I don't see you getting full name recognition, at the very least, in each of your demo videos!!! You, ARE an AWESOME Guitarist, and ought to get your proper acknowledgement for your work, here!!!! That said, I love this effect, and , I had recently bought a Strymon BigSky Reverb emulator because of your demo work on that device! Thank you Andy, and Strymon, for your wonderful collaboration, performance, and products! "BRAVO!!!"
This is why I subscribed to this channel years ago. Spot on review and demonstration of music gear. Not to mention Andy's excellent taste in song choice. Thank you so much for making these videos.
I couldn't take it anymore. All those years Strymon reviews, demos etc. haunted me on the internet. Seemingly everywhere I went music-related somebody had to say how amazing Flint is. Destiny? :) Today I've bought it. And it's every bit as sweet as everybody say.
I have been using the Strymon Flint now for a couple of years and I have to say that it is the ONE pedal that I would keep if I HAD to ditch my collection of a dozen or so. The only setting that I don't really use is the '65 Photocell Tremolo. I personally don't find the choppiness very appealing at all. It has its place for sure in the right song/atmosphere, but for me I just don't find it very musical. And I guess the styles of music I play just don't lend to that harshness. The '61 Harmonic and 63 Power Tube are very sexy and are very smooth and musical. ALL three reverbs are phenomenal! The spring could be a little more drippy but that's a pretty minor complaint. If you need Tremolo and Reverb pedals look no further!
I really liked this pedal as soon as you started playing. When you ended the video/ demo with Buckets of Rain I lost it. Meaning I really loved it. Thanks for all you do and for all you give. INSPIRATION.....
That's a lot of reverb nice sounding great playing as always. Bob Dylan Blood on the Track buckets of rain. My favorite Dylan album.. Buckets of rain. Buckets of tears. Got all them buckets comin' out of my ears.
it might be time to sell my strymon blue-sky and mad professor mellow yellow tremolo for this tone beast, it's got everything I want in both reverb AND tremolo, genius...
While he's talking? I didn't see him play anything while talking but before he first starts talking he plays the CCR version of Heard It Through The Grapevine on the Tele, then after he talks the first time he plays Thirty Days In The Hole by Humble Pie on the Les Paul. Is either of those the one you're wondering about?
You actually are going to want to have the trem AFTER your delays, as with reverb- 9 times out of ten it’s going to be preferable to have the trem after the reverb also, but the Flint lets you swap the order if need be, so you’re going to want to place this dead last in your chain (unless you’ve got a looper- that would go last then). This is because the tremolo is modulating volume, which will make delays sound strange and dirt pedals to sound like their gain is being turned up and down... hope this helps a bit
Where in the chain do you think the Flint works the best? Typically I run reverb at the end and modulations at the beginning, so where should you run a pedal that does both?
Buckets of Rain! Nice. I'll probably figure it out but I'd like to know if there's any access to tap tempo after the expression pedal is plugged in, or is the external button the only way?
I was excited to get one of these, but ended up selling it after a few weeks. While the effect itself is quite nice, I didn't care for the way my tone sounded through the pedal…. even in bypass mode.
The Flint can be used either way. There's an internal jumper to change the default mono input to TRS stereo. I don't think we've ever seen a strictly stereo pedal come in. Usually if there are stereo outputs, the left out is designated for mono. Thanks!
This has to be the best reverb pedal I've ever heard. in each of the three settings the fact that it has a fantastic trio of tremolos just makes it even better.
a friend of mine has this pedal and it's absolutely mind-blowing how GREAT it sounds.
everything sounds perfectly natural.

Thanks for that bit ‘o Peter Green!
My favorite non-dirt pedal of all time.

I wonder if this statement is where he decided to go with Reverb and start his own Andy Demos in the future?
You won me over completely when you played Albatross
It's like plugging into a deluxe reverb. I love it.
This is why I subscribed to this channel years ago.

the clarity is amazing
Andy is the most diverse guitarist out there. Everything from Creedence to Nirvana and everything in between.
So... rock.
(Just kidding, he is great)

Proud owner! My favourite pedal ever!
Andy is magic on the tele.

bassman3834 Agreed, a tasteful rendition.

Bob Dylan Blood on the Track buckets of rain.
My favorite Dylan album..
Buckets of rain. Buckets of tears. Got all them buckets comin' out of my ears.
bonus points for playing albatross! what a killer tune.
@ 3:40...Fleetwood Mac! Albatross...just beautiful
If you play "roots" rock - the Strymon Flint, El Cap, and Deco are some of the very best pedals you can get.
Agreed. Those three pedals are the Strymon trifecta for me. I love the Deco. Awaiting the Flint in the mail. El Cap will come later.
AWESOME TONE!!!!!!!!! This unit IS ON MY WISH LIST!!!!
I heard it through the grapevine that this pedal is awesome!
Robert Noble Music ü
Love it!!! 🤣
I really like your demos a lot. great explanations of the product.
Thanks so much!
That was a killer demo. Loved the last song whatever that was. I love that you demo'd a Strymon even if I don't understand why.
Buckets of Rain. From Dylan's Blood On The Tracks.
buckets of rain!
Great pedal. Great Player. This Strymon will never be an Albatross around your neck. Keep up the fine work, Andy.
Another great demo. Thanks Andy. Im a pedal head and proud of it.
Albatross sounded incredible
Nice bit of Dylan at the end
Finally!! Strymon a review by the pros :D
Love that 30 days in the hole by Humble Pie
Catched it too. Awesome

Nice James Bond videography, appreciated that

it might be time to sell my strymon blue-sky and mad professor mellow yellow tremolo for this tone beast, it's got everything I want in both reverb AND tremolo, genius...
I love the Humble Pie reference 🤘🏽
You are the best Andy!!!
always a pleasure. well done
30 Days in the Hole. Nice touch @ 2:54 !
not big on pedals but THIS THING IS FANTASTIC
"Buckets of Rain", very nice.
.... BORN ON THE STRYMON!
Last song riff is surely the best. "Buckets Of Rain" by Bob Dylan. It's a sweet diddy.
Come for the demos stay for andys playing
i really like the song in the beginning when hes talking
Me too. It's on a few of his videos. I've been dying to know what it is for literally years now!
While he's talking? I didn't see him play anything while talking but before he first starts talking he plays the CCR version of Heard It Through The Grapevine on the Tele, then after he talks the first time he plays Thirty Days In The Hole by Humble Pie on the Les Paul. dude. grapevine and 30 days in the hole? solid demo
This would be great if you were in a surf rock band
Hot diggity! Just bought one. Can't wait to try Buckets of Rain and Band of Heathens Hurricane.
Wow!
albatross! beautifully played
5:24 on is beautiful. Great tone.
great pedal :), very nice playing ;)
About time you demoed this thing. I am already selling mine.=P
3:00 what was the overdrive used??
Very well presented : Great playing :)
I believe the ALBATROSS by Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green- the "Original Fleetwood Mac"
albatross!
Tess Parker got super excited when I heard it too
But where would this go in the pedalboard? I’d want tremolo before delay, but reverb after delay.
I Have one all time favorite pedal
Strymon Flint or Fender Tre Verb?!? ..... Lots of people looking for the Flint in the Ontario used market.
damn fine tone!!!
30 Days in the hole, Humble Pie @ 2:54. SWEET!
Where in the chain do you think the Flint works the best? Typically I run reverb at the end and modulations at the beginning, so where should you run a pedal that does both?
4:22 that was some Pink Floyd type shit
That Buckets of Rain rendition.
Buckets of Rain! Nice. I'll probably figure it out but I'd like to know if there's any access to tap tempo after the expression pedal is plugged in, or is the external button the only way?
Which song is at the opening? First 15 seconds?
Sounds like 'Shakin' All Over' by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates... th-cam.com/video/n327ncoU_ZU/w-d-xo.html
Is a Leslie pedal too? sound's like one
Love the zoom in to the ring. "I'm married girls and boys." This is a great pedal.
'60s spy movie homage :)
Is there any volume drop when you engage the tremolo?
oddfellowfloyd looks like the secondary function lets you boost your signal to compensate
Does this mean PGS is going to start carrying Strymon products? Or is this demo just because?
PS - The Flint is definitely one of my favorite combo pedals ever.
+Adrian Medriano I also wish I had the money to buy this pedal as well.
What amp were you using? Sounded great!
Probs a deluxe reverb
Does anybody know where to find tabs for "Buckets of rain", played like in this video?
+Max P ya... its open E ... you can find it on dylanchords.com
I was excited to get one of these, but ended up selling it after a few weeks. While the effect itself is quite nice, I didn't care for the way my tone sounded through the pedal…. even in bypass mode.
Thanks for the great demo. Does this have stereo in as well as stereo out? I only see the single input. Thanks!
Yes you need a stereo 1/4 to two mono to utilize it
Please, make a lesson of "I heard it through the grapevine"
Is the Flint capable of mono in and out or is it strictly stereo?
The Flint can be used either way. There's an internal jumper to change the default mono input to TRS stereo. I don't think we've ever seen a strictly stereo pedal come in. Usually if there are stereo outputs, the left out is designated for mono. Thanks!

PETER GREEN!!! Killer!!
What's the name of the last song in Open G?
Boss Fan
Buckets of Rain by Dylan, on Blood on the Tracks album.
Henry the Twooth Thanks!
Boss Fan Actually it's Open D.
I want to love this pedal but something isn't quite right for me tone wise. I think I prefer the Moog trem.
Tone is dependant on many other other things not just this pedal.
what is the first song? thanks!
Heard it through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye
30 Days In The Hole~~
4 min song?
Can anybody compare this pedal to the Harley Benton Split Screen?
Can I connect it to a click or drum track so the trem keeps the same speed throughout the song and exactly on the beat?
What's the first song?

Thank you very much!!! =)
